I got this as a precon to have one for new players but didn't really enjoy the power level and playstyle so upgraded it to B3 with 20+ upgrades and better land base. Buuttt it still didn't catch my interest. So its going on the chopping block.
I cut [[Demonic Tutor]] from my black deck and put [[Phyrexian Arena]] in its place. Every game I'd tutor for the same thing on turn 3 and the games started to feel the same. Arena just draws me random stuff and I end up playing cards I forgot were in the deck, which is half the fun of 100 singleton anyway.
The deck is a bit slower now but I don't miss it. What did you cut, and what went in instead?
First is that I added tags to the deck for it to be more readable. I want the deck to be at least competent in high bracket 3 but I'm not sure how expensive that can be. The plan is to mill myself as much as I can and them reanimate Konrad to drain my oponents. Or mass reanimating my creatures with Rise of the Dark Realms or Living Death, and using Death Triggers and Sac Outlets to drain my oponents with them. Or getting a ton of creatures in the graveyard, use Crypt of Agadeem or Songs of the Dammed to generate a ton of mana and drain that into an Exsanguinate or a Dread Summons.
I think it's still inconsistent in the win cons. It's really good at milling myself, but I think it needs something to return non creture cards back to my hand. I have some options Phyrexian Reclamation, but I don't know how to get it back if it gets milled. The biggest problem, I think, is that I don't know how to get non creature cards back to my hand if need, and I don't if I need to use normal card draw or if it's better a general recursion spell or permanent.
Either way thanks a lot for the help in the other post, it helped a lot in getting a real path to wht this deck wants and what it can do.
With Halloween coming I wanted to “fix” my zombie deck
So I’ve had a dimir zombie deck for a while with Wilhelt at the helm. It’s never really worked for me that well because i guess, zombies aren’t that strong imo. I was looking through Sultai commanders because I think green would fix a bunch of the problems I had. Enter Teval.
I cut a lot of zombies and decided to focus on the ones that synergize on the graveyard and pumping out zombie tokens, added a few cards that work great with Teval and this is what I came up with. I think it has too many mass reanimate spells and I need to cut one or two but other than that, does anyone see any cool cards I’ve overlooked? I think I own every zombie card 😂
Hi everyone I'm looking for card recommendations for my bracket 4 Hearthhull the deck needs some love and more focus so suggestions for cuts are welcome as well.
Included is a build I am working on to attempt to bring to my pod (that mostly plays B2) and would am aiming to have something to really show off some of what is capable in magic. The majority of them don't like mill as a mechanic so I don't imagine this going over well but I always loved this cared and poison counters as like an archenemy type build.
Let me know what you think and if you have recommendations on replacements let me know what you would take out and put back in.
So I have my B4 [[vnwxt, verbose host]] deck that I’ve built and slowly upgraded and optimized over the years. I have it at a point where I feel like everything in it is absolutely necessary to consistently pull off the win and also provide protection. I just keep thinking that I need to add in [[utter insignificance]] or another flash “lose all abilities effect” in case something slips through my counter spells. I’ll even consider adding the one drop [[unable to scream]] and [[witness protection]]. I have [[amphibian downpour]] already but it’s the only effect in the deck. If anyone can suggest a cut or two I’d appreciate it.
Hiya. I've been running a test Matoya deck for a while and want to upgrade it to Denzilore, as it was the perfect new commander for the archetype. My only problem, I dont want it to just be "cast X, get a creature token" as the wincon. I wanted to know what other people's opinions were to getting the win on board.
Matoya' original plan was basically that as without combos that's really all she had going to finish the game.
I'm also thinking of keeping it a slower deck. Sit back on interaction and just accumulate over the course of the game (as all Azorius lovers do)
Hey, I am pretty new to the game and haven't gone out and done much modifying on any decks quite yet, but I saw the Calling all Angels deck and picked it up. I wanted to modify it to bring in the pair of Gisela, the Broken Blade and Bruna, the Fading Light because they seem like a really cool pair to pull off. Does anyone have any suggestions for modifications I could make to the deck to incorporate them? It would be nice if it could have some level of consistency although I'm not sure if thats very possible without some level of tutor cards. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Right away, I think using [[Inspirit Flagship Vessel]] as the commander and playing that deck is probably better. That didnt really appeal to me, so ive taken a different route with [[Kilo Apogee Mind]] that utilizes a defensive pillow-fort strategy and combo wins.
You want to win with [[Darksteel Reactor]] or [[Walking Ballista]] usually, although [[All will be one]] and poison counters can be used as a back up in longer games, although neither is really the focus of the deck.
I cut out all the duplicate turns stuff, so it should be fine for bracket 3. If you want to replace the enchantment tutors with draw spells it would take another turn or two, also.
Been pretty fun, got a few wins, feels pretty easy to play. Cool deck.
Hey - I'm about into a year of MTG Commander. I've been building pretty straight-forward mono color decks to learn about each color. Working on this Fynn deck (linked below), and the deck seems to run out of gas around turn 4. Opponents have blockers, i'm out of cards, and my proliferate cards are not as available as I thought they would be in drawing them.
I've tried to learn from other decks, but seems I'm stuck. Any ideas would be welcome. I'd like get this deck sped up where I always have something to play, rather than end up top-decking. Thanks.
I dont even know what bracket this would be but its heavy deck draw to find noncombat damage spells (impact tremors), take advantage of big hands (with ivory tower), buff creatures when drawing cards, and an infinite combo wincon using johnny storm, another hero on board, and niv. How did I do, anything that sticks out?
Hey all, I pulled this one from a collector booster and figured I had the cards to make a decent deck out of it. The problem I’m having is I’m struggling to make it a cohesive dedicated strategy.
The strategy I’ve tried to go for is to use the ‘Recruit’ mechanic with a secondary strategy of profiting off the discard with Monument to Endurance but I couldn’t find other discard payoffs.
It’s the first deck that I’ve properly spent time on. All criticism/feedback welcome!
Built a Bracket 2 Dack deck and wanted a taxes and Angel theme. So put a bunch of pillow fort stuff in with the angels, so everyone gets indoctrinated into the angel cult of Dack, attacks each other and not me because of all the propaganda effects, then use homeward path to get my stuff back late game after everyone is low to get a possible win. Any suggestions? I want to keep it bracket 2 and keep the Angel/Pillow fort/Tax themes.
