Tire recommendations
I’m big turbski and can’t get any traction in 2nd or 3rd gear. Any recommendations for tires? I live in Vegas where it’s always dry. I’m also on 7.5” wheels which kind of sucks haha.

i was driving it quite hard to, it went quite high once for a minute then iv noticed it creep over now and again
i drover it for a hour after and it was fine

Has anyone had luck with finding a replacement for just the lens of the housing? Mine is very fogged inside and out. I’m considering just replacing it. I found the site headlight-headlamp.com that says they have them, but you can’t order directly from the site, you have to contact them via email. Kinda suspect.

Hey guys. Im stuck. I finally got around to replacing the 2 heater core hoses that are known for causing a slow, sometimes quick, coolant leak.
I got the hoses, 3d printed the tool for the plastic connections, drained the coolant, and replaced everything. I thought i saw on here to connect the new hoses in the unlocked position, then twist to the locked position (where the arrows align [I hope]) which i did.
Little bit later, im finally adding coolant and i have an awful leak in the video attached. Im not a mechanic, but im trying. I cant leave ford without spending $3k on some bs so i wanted to do this myself but im worried i really messed something up. Is this issue familiar with anyone? Should i get it towed to ford and bite.. another.. bullet?

When I bought my St I found that the prior owner had tossed the OEM wheel well liners and plastic plate. I live in northern Utah where we can get a lot of snow so I want protection for my underbay. I was looking at a good louvered skid plate by some Canadian company but they don't sell to the US. All the other ones I can find are not louvered/vented. Do y'all think I'm fine to get a nom vented one or will I have issues with heat especially in the summer?

Hey y'all,
Got my 2017 Focus ST, 166K miles, and I'm running into this issue.
When I plug in a phone to use android auto, I get the the "USB not supported" message BUT it still works. I hit the "close" button on the popup window and it works just fine most of the time. Occasional, it'll freeze after loading in but it's rare.
I've tried resetting the head unit to factory and clear cache, new UBS cords, different phones, tried both USB ports, unplugging the battery for 10 minutes (both positive and negative terminals) but the message keeps popping up.
I glanced at some of the previous posts but the common ones I'm seeing are the USB ports just not working at all so it leads me to belive I'm having a different issue.
Thank you for any help or guidance to the right direction.

I am at 4500 since last oil chance I normally do every 3500-4000 miles. The place I order my motul oil from is waiting for a delivery of the oil so they can send it out (already place order so just waiting now)
My question is since I’m already over what I normally do should I just wait until the motul comes in (no eta at the moment) or should I just get some oil from the parts store and run that until the motul comes in.
Car is FBO at 70k miles
Update: decided to go to local ford dealer on my lunch break and got some full synthetic motorcraft oil so gonna do the oil chance before I leave work at my dealership

This exhaust was already on the car when I bought it. It's not bad when you have a light foot, though there is some drone on deceleration, but when you give it a fair amount of throttle it's quite loud, to the point that I always drive with a light foot because it's too loud if I don't.
I'm tired of my ears ringing every time I drive my car; is it worth adding an additional resonator or should I just try to find a stock exhaust somewhere?
Aside from the loud exhaust, the focus ST is by far the loudest car I've owned when it comes to general road and wind noise in the cabin. It's to the point that it's kind of killing the enjoyment for the car itself. I have tinnitus from my earlier days when I was a musician and so it gets aggravated pretty easily.
I do plan on trying to add sound insulation into the doors where the wind noise seems to be the worst, as well as some to the front wheel arches and the trunk, but I'm not expecting it to do a whole lot other than maybe take the edge off a bit.
Just coasting in neutral, the road noise transmission through all the body panels is pretty bad, and includes a lot of lower mid frequencies that my ears don't do well with.
If I can't find ways to make driving this thing more tolerable it might go up for sale, which would be a shame since I like the car overall and how it looks.
My last two cars were Audis so I think I've been spoiled by how comfortable and reasonably quiet the cabins were.

Hi I’m cheap so you can recommend kits but I probably won’t buy them. I just wanted to know if anyone has tried cutting and rethreading their existing shift rod? The RS is 1.25” shorter and I have a 12x1.25 thread kit and just ordered a new shift knob and figured that might be a good time to go for it if that’s the plan, any experience/warnings?

This is what happens over time to one of these exhaust systems. I don't even know how that one tip was holding on but it was more than hopes and dreams.
Taking off the exhaust that is on my gf's car and going to install the Roush system.
The stock system is stainless steel for a reason.
Aluminized steel is cheap for a reason. It's coated mild steel that has a short life.

Hey, I’m slightly new to the focus st platform and I’ve just done my second oils change. I did my oil at 3k miles but I’m wondering if it’s normal than not a single drop came out the catch can? Also I did open the oil cap the allow air in, I also attempted to drain it during the oil change(all the old oil out and new oil filter in but still hadn’t refilled the oil) but I doubt that would change anything.
Other info:

Evening peeps,
I hit my first deer ever yesterday on the way to work…wasn’t the worst it could’ve been but it definitely did some damage.
These are the factory HID lights (ST2) and trying to find the correct aftermarket replacement (or OEM that isn’t $500+) has been difficult.
The purpose of my post is to ask, does anyone know a good aftermarket replacement that fits with the existing xenon electrical components? I have seen a warning that “this isn’t compatible with LED DRL Headlights” and don’t know enough to gauge if that’s the right thing for my car or not, and google is not helping lol
Any help is appreciated!

this is a stretch but I'm trying to find the previous owner to ask questions about the car before they had it and what they did and learn more about the history of it before I bought it it's a 2017 Oxford white with goldish maybe bronze wheels ST3 package here is some pictures from when I first got it car was bought at a dealership in Salt lake city Utah got it sometime in March of 2025

Is this a common problem on these? Seen a few photos from other posts that look similar. The edges of my head gasket are a little wet with oil, and it doesn't appear to be dripping down from any higher point.
This was a new reman engine directly from ford made in 2022.
No cooling issues, no coolant issues, etc. Just oily head gasket edges.
I'm starting to think that these cars are kind of crap.

It idles at 900-950 at normal times which I'm pretty sure is too high. Then when I downshift then go into neutral the rpm will just drop really fast and go down to 300-500. I even had an event when I was driving home a few weeks ago and whenever I would downshift then go to neutral the car would completely die. No CEL have ever popped up for any of this happening. It does have an aftermarket BOV and a 3" intake pipe otherwise full stock

Muffler baffle broken or heat shield? Laying under the car where I took the video it sounds like inside the muffler. I also used a long breaker bar and ran it along the top of the muffler and the heat shield isn’t laying on it. Sound goes away once the car is warm. Ideas?

Somebody near me is selling a 2013 ST2 with 192K and a blown turbo for 5K(need to get his head straight😂). I have a stock turbo that I could throw on for little to no cost. What do you guys think the value of that car with so many miles is? Is it worth trying to fix and resell? Would never pay 5k, but maybe 3.5 or 4.

In the US, ordering from Rock Auto. No clue if Moog is still ok? Drivers side endlink broke. Shocking I know, I am still on stock suspension with no desire to lower it. Wondering what brand yall went with or am I just over thinking it.
Guessing MEVOTECH or Moog are fine for stock?
