looking for over the ear headphones that fit my small head

• Upvotes

for reference, i have the airpod maxes but the smallest setting they go to is still extremely loose on my head. i tried getting silicone covers for them since that’s what the internet said might help them stay one my head, but it still doesn‘t work. i loved the sound quality on there but i can‘t wear them because if i move my head even slightly, they slip down below my ears.

what im looking for:

- noise cancellation is a must. as someone with sensory issues living in a college environment, it’s really hard for me to focus. my regular airpods are fine but the noise cancellation only amplifies the noises that i want blocked.

- they need to be over the ears. my airpods (i have the most recent version of the pros) fit weirdly in my ears and are extremely uncomfortable, especially for long wear. i use my AirPods all the time but they’re really irritating my inner ears and don’t stay as well.

- sound quality doesn’t matter too much, but i‘d like it to be of similar quality to the airpod maxes.

- price isn’t too important, but i’m not looking to spend more than $500

- they need to be comfortable for long wear. as i mentioned, i live in a college setting, so i use headphones for most of the day.

- appearance. i’d like the headphone to be somewhat aesthetically pleasing but as long as they’re not butt ugly, it doesn’t matter too much.

i realize these might be a lot of qualifications, but headphones are a big financial investment. let me know if you have any recs!

Headphone advice needed to match my monitors/speakers

Hey all, im looking for some headphones that can have some versatility to them and match the speakers. I was at a yard sale and picked up focal solo 6 speakers for 50 bucks and rokit 5 speakers for 25 bucks, im trying to go basically all in to this audio space and such i need recommendations to really go into this space with a bang.

  1. i deally need some close backs, but other sorts of headphones are not out the question

  2. bluetooth would be nice, but im open to other kinds

  3. i can buy second hand or first hand,

  4. budget would be at best 500 ( mainly since black friday is aroudn the corner )

  5. they would be used as daily headphones (most likely not for gym or that sort of stuff)

  6. I want to be blown away witht eh sound quality, i currently have samsung 3 pro earbuds, deffinetely want a upgrade to that

  7. currently exploring what sort of music i like, that being said I love hearing instruments and vocals seperated but this isnt a huge point

How good is the Nothing Ear 3a

I read some comments on YouTube about the Nothing Ear 3a is really good but the battery life sucks since after a couple months of use, the battery just gives up and making it unusable. I'm not sure if they're referring to some previous models that had that problem and they just assume that it also has the same battery that dies after couple of months. I just want to hear those owners if they encounter the same problem with it. Thank you!

Can you recommend some earphones that are easy to drive?

I'm looking for an IEM that's easy to drive from a Sony Walkman NW-S756 and has a similar sense of speed and separation to the KZ PRX.

My preferences:

- Bright/cool-neutral sound signature

- V-shaped tuning with punchy, fast bass

- Clear drum transients and good instrument separation

- Easy to drive from a low-powered DAP

I'm considering the KZ zst pro x and KZ ZS12 Pro X, but I'm also open to other budget IEMs available on AliExpress.

For anyone who has tried these IEMs, how do they compare in bass speed, detail retrieval, and separations?

Thanks!

Headphones with good audio and a 3.5mm jack?

I don’t have much experience with different headphones and I don’t know what to look for when it comes to audio quality.

Im used to Koss Porta Pro and in my uneducated mind, they sound pretty good. But I want something that cover the ears and blocks sound out (passively) instead.

A 3.5mm connector is important because I’ll be connecting it to my controller When playing games.

Does anyone have suggestions for headphones like this?

  1. Over the ear
  2. 3.5mm jack
  3. Comfortable
  4. Good audio (at leas as good as Koss Porta Pro)
  5. Passive noice canceling, which I assume would come naturally with the design. Not that they can’t have active noise canceling, but it needs to be toggleble.

Edit: I forgot to mention budget. I’m willing to spend up to 500 dollars.

I found a set that seems good, the Beyerdynamic MMX 330 Pro. Anyone have experience with this one?

Help me choose between Yamaha HPH MT5, BEHRINGER DH100 and KOSS QZ99 for LISTENING ONLY. Owner reviews are helpful.

These are a few wired headphones that I'm looking into and I'm unable to find any helpful comparisons or proper reviews anywhere. Every review either seems sponsored or by non experts.

Some of the features that I'm focusing on are :

Wired/hybrid, definitely NOT wireless ONLY.

  1. Decent sound quality. Studio headphones with a wide range, warm bass and clear mids are necessary, treble range i'd like it clean but not too harsh.

  2. Built to last, decent quality plastic that doesn't look cheap.

  3. Comfortable fit. Large Over the ear design, that properly cups the entire ear and rest on the head, thick cushions such that the ears don't stick to the inner side of the headphones.

  4. No ANC. I would rather prefer noise isolation/reduction just like in drummer headphones, which simply reply on proper fitting and cushion so that I can use it for hours without worrying about the adverse effects of ANC.

I'm hoping to get an opinion on the above mentioned headphones Yamaha HPH MT5, Behringer DH100 and KOSS QZ99 and how it compares to the qualities that I'm looking for.

I'm open to alternative options under a mandatory price cap of ₹10,000.

I have looked at Sony, Soundcore, Audio technica, JBL none seems very interesting. Chi-fi headphones are a big NOPE.

Best headphones for mixing/mastering?

Hi everyone, I’m looking for headphones for mixing and mastering in a home studio. I’m considering the Sennheiser HD 560S, AKG K371, DT 770 Pro 80Ω, and ATH-M50x. I want the most natural, flat and detailed sound with accurate bass and highs. Which one would you recommend, or are there better options around €150–€250?

Bose QuiteComfort SC Headphones

I bought Bose QuiteComfort SC Headphones Gen1 (New) for USD 150.

I am not familiar with Bose Headphones, I use their sound bar. I thought it was a good deal for a headphone I could use during travel. I use Jabra earphones and headphones for work and as my daily driver.

I know Bose makes Ultra version and Quite comfort already has Gen 2.

I was wondering, if anyone has used it how is the sound quality and ANC on these Gen1 headphones. there is no spatial sound on this version which I am fine with it.

And at $150, is it a good deal? I have option to return it with in 30 days.

Would greatly appreciate the feedback.

Very strange issue with my HDB 630

I've had my HDB 630s for about a week now and of course it goes without saying the sound is tremendous. I've had minor issues with the on head detection but aside from that everything has been fine, until today. They work fine at first after turning them on and connecting them to either my phone via Bluetooth or with the dongle to my laptop. The ANC works, on head detection works with the audio pausing when I take them off and then the audio turns back on when I put them back on my head and the touch controls work as they should with me being able to pause and unpause the audio and adjust the volume and ANC.

However, and this is where it gets strange, after a few minutes of everything working as it should, the audio pauses by itself with the headphones still on my head and the on head detection and even touch controls don't work anymore. The ANC stops working too. The headphones can still play sound and I'm able to adjust the volume and pause and unpause the audio from my phone and laptop and adjust the ANC from the app (but since the ANC stops working, this doesn't make any difference), but the headphones themselves don't respond when I try and use the touch controls. Everything goes back to normal after I switch them off and reconnect, but then the cycle repeats. I've reset them a few times in the hope that would fix them but have had no luck. Any idea what's happening? Do I need a replacement? I've made this as clear as I can, so I hope you understand. I realise this does sound a little confusing, lol.

I'm trying to get into mixing and mastering for my amateur band and just making my own music. Beyerdynamic dt990 pro 250 ohms 50€ horrid headband would need to replace

Sennheiser hd 560s 70€ ok condition Sennheiser hd 598 70€ good condition and new ear muffs I actually like the look

AKG K 612 pro 80€ good condition

My thanks for anyone who can help out!

What should i choose

I’ve had the Razer Kraken 2019 for five years and have really enjoyed using them, but they’ve worn out, so I’d like to pick something new. I own a Moondrop Dawn Pro DAC. I use the headphones for single-player games and music, I hate it when my headphones sound like I'm underwater. I don't want to adjust the equalizer. My budget is around $150.

Best Flagship BT Headphones primarily for Audio Quality and Comfort

Based on my not too great research, Ive narrowed down to Momentum 4, Momentum 5, HDB 630, Px7 s2e, Px7 s3, Px8, Px8 s2 (I didn't add the Bathys since I its ridiculously priced).

My main focus is on clarity of sound as well as comfort; I travel a lot so I want a device which will give me amazing sound without giving me a headache. As far as NC is concerned, I'm currently using a HD 4.50 BTNC so anything at or above this level is ok with me. I don't care too much about microphone quality either.

I appreciate any and all insights. Please feel free to suggest headphones outside this list too.

Recommend some affordable and good headphones?

I got an infection in my left ear and the doctor has denied me to put airpods/earbuds.

I will use headphones for meditation (because when I meditate there is a lot of noise outside here and couldn't focus) and will also use it for my coaching classes!

So recommend the ones from which the outside voice can't go through! 😭

Why Does My Soundcore Q30 Make Me Happier Than High-End Headphones?

Hey guys! I fell down the audiophile rabbit hole about 20 years ago and have owned all kinds of gear, from entry-level to high-end.

After getting the HIFIMAN Ananda Nano paired with the iFi Hip-DAC 3, I’ve found myself spending less time opening Qobuz and more time going straight to Spotify to enjoy my albums over Bluetooth with my Soundcore Q30.

I don’t know if it’s just the convenience, but the Q30 with the Flat EQ preset gives me more listening satisfaction than any high-end headphone I’ve ever owned.

So, what makes us prefer a technically inferior headphone over high-end gear?

JBL Endurance race 2 or Soundcore P30i

Hey Reddit, recently my JBL endurance race 1 got broken an I want to buy new in ear Bluetooth headphones. But I don't know if I should buy the JBL product or try the Soundcore's one. I'm worried about the P30i not being as good as the endurance because as almost everybody knows, once you have headphones of a certain quality, you can't stand using headphones of a lower quality.

Can somebody help me to decide? :)
