Best headphones for mixing/mastering?

• Upvotes

Hi everyone, I’m looking for headphones for mixing and mastering in a home studio. I’m considering the Sennheiser HD 560S, AKG K371, DT 770 Pro 80Ω, and ATH-M50x. I want the most natural, flat and detailed sound with accurate bass and highs. Which one would you recommend, or are there better options around €150–€250?

Global Speed extension to reduce/fix bluetooth lip sync issues?

I've been trying to find a way to fix lip sync issues on my bluetooth earbuds when watching videos. Would this extension do what I think it does with its delay settings? Thanks

Bose QuiteComfort SC Headphones

I bought Bose QuiteComfort SC Headphones Gen1 (New) for USD 150.

I am not familiar with Bose Headphones, I use their sound bar. I thought it was a good deal for a headphone I could use during travel. I use Jabra earphones and headphones for work and as my daily driver.

I know Bose makes Ultra version and Quite comfort already has Gen 2.

I was wondering, if anyone has used it how is the sound quality and ANC on these Gen1 headphones. there is no spatial sound on this version which I am fine with it.

And at $150, is it a good deal? I have option to return it with in 30 days.

Would greatly appreciate the feedback.

Best Flagship BT Headphones primarily for Audio Quality and Comfort

Based on my not too great research, Ive narrowed down to Momentum 4, Momentum 5, HDB 630, Px7 s2e, Px7 s3, Px8, Px8 s2 (I didn't add the Bathys since I its ridiculously priced).

My main focus is on clarity of sound as well as comfort; I travel a lot so I want a device which will give me amazing sound without giving me a headache. As far as NC is concerned, I'm currently using a HD 4.50 BTNC so anything at or above this level is ok with me. I don't care too much about microphone quality either.

I appreciate any and all insights. Please feel free to suggest headphones outside this list too.

Very strange issue with my HDB 630

I've had my HDB 630s for about a week now and of course it goes without saying the sound is tremendous. I've had minor issues with the on head detection but aside from that everything has been fine, until today. They work fine at first after turning them on and connecting them to either my phone via Bluetooth or with the dongle to my laptop. The ANC works, on head detection works with the audio pausing when I take them off and then the audio turns back on when I put them back on my head and the touch controls work as they should with me being able to pause and unpause the audio and adjust the volume and ANC.

However, and this is where it gets strange, after a few minutes of everything working as it should, the audio pauses by itself with the headphones still on my head and the on head detection and even touch controls don't work anymore. The ANC stops working too. The headphones can still play sound and I'm able to adjust the volume and pause and unpause the audio from my phone and laptop and adjust the ANC from the app (but since the ANC stops working, this doesn't make any difference), but the headphones themselves don't respond when I try and use the touch controls. Everything goes back to normal after I switch them off and reconnect, but then the cycle repeats. I've reset them a few times in the hope that would fix them but have had no luck. Any idea what's happening? Do I need a replacement? I've made this as clear as I can, so I hope you understand. I realise this does sound a little confusing, lol.

What should i choose

I’ve had the Razer Kraken 2019 for five years and have really enjoyed using them, but they’ve worn out, so I’d like to pick something new. I own a Moondrop Dawn Pro DAC. I use the headphones for single-player games and music, I hate it when my headphones sound like I'm underwater. I don't want to adjust the equalizer. My budget is around $150.

Spigen headphones eq for crisp vocals

I just got the headphones, they look good however they are a bit uncomfortable to put on neck but that's fine.

The problem is with vocals what should be the eq for vocals and mids

Will using them wired/wired+dac make a difference?

Recommend some affordable and good headphones?

I got an infection in my left ear and the doctor has denied me to put airpods/earbuds.

I will use headphones for meditation (because when I meditate there is a lot of noise outside here and couldn't focus) and will also use it for my coaching classes!

So recommend the ones from which the outside voice can't go through! 😭

Why Does My Soundcore Q30 Make Me Happier Than High-End Headphones?

Hey guys! I fell down the audiophile rabbit hole about 20 years ago and have owned all kinds of gear, from entry-level to high-end.

After getting the HIFIMAN Ananda Nano paired with the iFi Hip-DAC 3, I’ve found myself spending less time opening Qobuz and more time going straight to Spotify to enjoy my albums over Bluetooth with my Soundcore Q30.

I don’t know if it’s just the convenience, but the Q30 with the Flat EQ preset gives me more listening satisfaction than any high-end headphone I’ve ever owned.

So, what makes us prefer a technically inferior headphone over high-end gear?

Honestt review of sony wh ch720n

Guess I purchased my 720n from jio mart at 4.7k it's a steal, headphones are crazy comfort at top notch I use them 7-8 hr a day for study , youtube, spotify etc , everywhere

anc is above avg in short its durga pooja time(navratri) in my area there is loud speakers are playing and it's anc can stop 70-80% of sound while watching

I have lot of confusion over cmf and sony but for me cmf are to heavy I mean they are 300g on head , after 3hr you will notice some headaches

Sony has a pretty good sound after eq

Soo in short if you looking for a headphones fro study or daily use 7-8 hr or a good sound quality goo blindly for sony

And if you use headphones for 3-4 hr so go for cmf pro as they are durable , or any other brand ,

But for me sony is a banger if we don't go for hinge isue it's a only draw back

JBL Endurance race 2 or Soundcore P30i

Hey Reddit, recently my JBL endurance race 1 got broken an I want to buy new in ear Bluetooth headphones. But I don't know if I should buy the JBL product or try the Soundcore's one. I'm worried about the P30i not being as good as the endurance because as almost everybody knows, once you have headphones of a certain quality, you can't stand using headphones of a lower quality.

Can somebody help me to decide? :)

Budget friendly headphones

Hey - straight to the point - Bought Corsair Void Elite (cuz it looked like protogen head) dont ask why, spend 100€ for these (later found they actually cost more around 25€ brand new).

My headphones (after aprox. 2.5 years of usage) - currently greasy, mic boom is cracked, the synthetic leather is peeling off. And after buying Sony XM5 (which probably not the best headphones as I heard XM4 bit better for bang for a buck and XM6 is the same) I found out that my headphones suck, I also found that my mic is too silent, but moving my mic into my mouth fixes that issue. Also EQ only works after I open the app for it.

In conclusion my headphones work, but they currently deteriorating as we speak.

Solution: Buy new ones

And because of I'm paranoid spending 100€ for nothing. My approach is issue first ( meaning researching issues before whats good about the headphones) budget is around 100€-120€ cant really stretch my budget but max what can I do is 160€. and as sale season is close I dont want to wait till Christmas to get another deal.

My requirements:

  • Not too pricey
  • Removable/replaceable ear cups (cuz I dont want them being greasy)
  • Good company reputation
  • Not too much issues with the device
  • Durable (So it doesnt break down in like 3 year)
  • Good mic
  • Dongle connected
  • Clam being not too weak (hate headphones falling when I go take something)
  • Closed back

I need your advice of what would be the best headphones for me.

1. Best overall "Fractal Design Scape"

(But cant really afford)

Currently best option, company is good, known one issue being weak ear cup fabric glue (which company is already aware of that), and being in pricier side I hope to somehow to buy currently they cost 15X€.

2. Risky option "RAZER BLACKSHARK V3"

+ Pluses
Strong sound and a detachable mic that owners praise.

- Minuses

  • Faults on two units in a row: one owner returned a unit for popping and distortion. On the replacement, the dongle stopped being detected, and there was crackling even over cable.
  • Audio dropping to total silence there was thread in july said that some of headphones had been audio to a total silence and the only fix is turning the headset off and on.
  • Just random disconnects

3. Fine option "HyperX Cloud III S"

+ Pluses

Said to be best gaming headphones in 2025

- Minuses

  • Quiet mic - Tom’s Hardware found the recording volume relatively low even with the gain at maximum. Headphones.com calls it serviceable, not pleasant, and another reviewer says it sounds very compressed.
  • Weak clamp
  • Leatherette pads and headband, I can wipe them, but not wash them. The headband padding doesn’t come off, and leatherette tends to peel or flake after a few years.

Spigen headphones creak/crack sound from one ear cup when I move my jaw or head. Normal?

Hi everyone, I need some advice. This is my first pair of over-ear headphones. I've only used TWS earbuds before, so I don't know what's normal.

About a month ago I ordered a Spigen headphone. I was really happy with it: comfort, sound quality and build quality were all great. But two days in, one ear cup started making a weird creaking/cracking noise whenever I wear it and move my jaw or head. Sound quality is fine, but the noise is really annoying.

I thought it was a defective piece, so I returned it. Then it went out of stock, so I recently ordered another one. Now the same noise is coming from both ear cup again but this time right on sounded more..again.

My questions:

  1. Is this normal for headphones in general, and does it go away after the pads break in?

  2. Is it a known issue with Spigen headphones?

  3. Is there any fix, like a different way of wearing them or adjusting the pads or headband?

Edit: when I keep shaking my head side to side (like saying "no"), the sound happens once and then disappears. After 5-6 more movements, it comes back once. So it's not constant, it seems to happen only occasionally

Please help me choose

I'm looking for my first pair of headphones. I'm currently deciding between the JBL Live 780 NC and the Sony ULT Wear.

Help me choose which one I should get based on sound quality, comfort, etc. Other recommendations within that price range would also be good.

Thanks to anyone that could help

Marshall Monitor 3 ANC vs other Headphones

Hello, have any of you had the Marshall Monitor 3 ANC, maybe headphones in a similar price range or cheaper, and how were your experiences? I am now constantly looking at headphone comparisons, where the Marshall Monitor 3 are included. I think the design is really cool, usually they don't score particularly well for their price range, just because you pay for the brand. But what do you say to that? What are your experiences? It would be interesting to hear that from people who already had them. And have you also had negative experiences?

Best "gaming" headphones for under $100 CAD (PC)

Hey everyone,

I'm looking to grab a new pair of headphones since my HyperX cloud II physically broke after 4 years. I don't mind raising my budget to ~$30 more if absolutely necessary.

To give you a better idea of what I need, here are some things that I want in the headphones:

Something with good footstep tracking and spatial audio for games like cs2 or cod.

something that is preferably more comfortable then the cloud '2s

I've heard open back is a popular option but I don't think there are good options at my price point.

Thanks!

Choosing new headphones

Currently looking for headphones to replace my old G PRO X gaming headset. Main use would be gaming and casual listening. I do not need a mic and currently I'm looking between these few options. Fiio Ft1 Hifiman Edition xs Sennheiser HD 490 pro Budget is maximum 500 dollars. Would prefer a China brand because I can get them much cheaper from where I'm living. For example, I can get the hifiman edition xs brand new for only 125 usd

Best comfortable BT headphones with great mic quality

So I currently have Bose QC45s I use for work all day, and despite making it work for 4 years, I've had enough of people telling me my voice is echoey or accusing me of being on speakerphone. From the research I've done it seems these are somewhat known for their less than stellar mic performance. I've considered external mics or mods, but don't want to go down that road. I will literally be using these for phone calls only. What cans less than $125USD will offer all day comfort and great mic quality. I don't care if they're even $50. I'm a former headphone enthusiast located in Canada. Thanks!
