Nostalgia Favorite Halloween costume as a kid?

Post image
1.6k Upvotes

With Halloween approaching, I was just curious… what was your favorite Halloween costume you had when you were a kid?

Mine was this Rainbow Brite costume my mom made for me. I thought it was so cool. I WAS Rainbow Brite when wearing this costume. I probably would have lived in it if my mom would have let me (she didn’t).

What was your favorite costume?

I’m rewatching this for the first time since it originally aired in 1999, and OMG. 😂 I remember being absolutely TERRIFIED of this movie as a kid, but it’s also bringing back so much nostalgia!

Please tell me I’m not the only one who remembers this nightmare fuel 😱

Discussion My uncle just passed away.

My uncle just passed away from cancer, and the last two times I saw him which were a couple years apart were at funerals for his mom, then Dad (my grandparents). He was sick with cancer then but kinda ok. I found out he was in hospice a couple days ago then found out he passed away this morning before I had a chance to visit him. I'm in tears right now but listening too his favorite band Heart. He had allot to do with my musical opinions can still remember getting the Aerosmith pump cassette from him when I was maybe 10. He listened to music like I do, and I'm gonna continue too listen to his favorite band Heart because they are awesome.

Discussion Anyone find it interesting how Millennial is the term we use when at times in the past we were called Gen Y in textbooks?

I sometimes think about my education classes in college around 2013 and how one of the first education textbooks I read called people born between around 1981-1996 Generation Y because it came right after Generation X. Then in just maybe within a couple of years every book and online source said Millennial only and didn’t use Gen Y at all because society and researchers made millennial the more popular cultural term 😅. Don’t know how it would really change much other than me wanting to say I’m Gen Y cause we’re all wondering whY we’ve had to deal with so much crap for decades and I’ve had the question whY in my brain looking at the news 24/7 but just a lil thought that came to mind recently 😬

What is your favorite cartoon now?

I was a big fan of Pokemon like other 90s kids.

The cartoon like watching the most now is Rick and Morty since it’s hilarious AF.

I'm sitting here watching Halloween town with my 3yo realizing how good we had it with Disney's made for TV movies. Halloween town, My Mom is Dating a Vampire, Brink!. There were just so many great movies.

I've always loved Christmas movies but I'm also realizing how much I've always liked Halloween movies. The Little Vampire is tomorrow nights movie!

Discussion Have you guys/gals had a midlife-crises yet?

I've never thought it would really happened to me, I've always been contempt with my life as it has gone along. I just turned 40 and I'm happy with my life, no goals or anything that feels left out. But suddenly a single thought hit me; it's already been 20 years since I was 20 and they've gone by so fast, in just the same time-span (20 more years) I'll be 60 and death will star looming in the shadows...
I know you can live a healthy life for many decades after you pass 60 years old, but statistically you are entering a phase that is a lot more uncertain regarding your health/life.

So... how have you people handled your midlife-crises?
