Advice Question Starter Bras

• Upvotes

What am I looking for in my first few bras?

I started E about two months ago and my nipples are ridiculously tender. I've got Pasties in my cart, and I already own some compression shirts, but I want to be somewhat prepared. Like, I assume I'm not looking for anything with cups right away.

The names of the cut of bra, and specific product recommendations are all great.

Thanks

Advice Question Experiences with FOLX

• Upvotes

I’m trying to start HRT and I’m thinking about using FOLX since it has a clinic near me (I’m currently in college in buttfuck Missouri so there’s not a to. of options lmao). Has anyone used folx, and if so how would you rate the experience? It doesn’t have to be 10/10 service but do they know what they’re doing at least?

Wowowowow I could feel it, it was clearly a clit, not a phantom dick!!! I have pussy!!! I'm a girl!!!!

Can't wait for 3 months later when I can have sex

Dysphoria Thrift store finds

• Upvotes

I’m 19. So my egg cracked abt a month ago. I came out to my parents 2 weeks ago and they are the opposite of supportive. And yesterday my great friends helped support me and we went to a thrift store to look for clothes to try on. I just tried them on and It felt so nice but I did feel a little weird.. maybe it’s just cause I’m not used to woman’s clothing? I basically got like one outfit and a few sweaters and a dress. I may have to ask one of my friends if it fits well bc I wore some of them and it was questionable for a few. So overall very happy but I felt a little dysphoric wearing the dress cause idk I’m flat cause I’m just starting out, so I didn’t really fill it out and I’m not knowledgeable on dresses so I don’t know if it was high for one or not. It still covered everything but idk. My main bummer is I bought these black jeans that looked nice and tried them on and couldn’t get them on fully. I was able to slide in to them but couldn’t button or zip them so that got me feeling a little dysphoria. Ik like it’s bc it’s not the right width like it was perfect length but was too tight. And ik it’s only that but like I’m still getting like strong dysphoria thoughts.. like I’m too manish to fit into them… I went to a thrift store cause it was cheap but I really had trouble finding woman’s clothing my size bc I am tall and it’s a thrift store so in average prob not a lot of women’s clothing that can fit a 6ft 1” soon to hopefully be amazon. So I’m just asking should I try online shopping? My friend said I could order stuff and have it shipped to their house. My parents idk they seem like they would get a heart attack if they saw me in those clothes, they are in denial I fear. Before I left the house yesterday they called me a handsome man in unison and it rubbed me the wrong way. I wanted to get stuff cheap bc I’m a broke college student whose very dependent on my parents but lowkey most often stuff I got fit but like little under half are just fitting and two or them just don’t fit. Like idk what to buy or where for my size. I’m fairly skinny person (maybe too much) but I’m 6ft 1. Idk was feeling good and now I’m not. I just want to have stuff that fit me and look good. Some of the stuff I got is not a right fit and I’m repeating myself but I’m drained. I was hyping myself up and it didn’t go to plan.

Discussion About Attraction and Sexuality Changes:

Hello I want to make a little post on Sexuality Changes and Transioning.

I have been struggling with my sexuality for a few years, as I grew up being sure that I was a straight boy/lesbian girl. Yet my fantasies always included abstract men somehow. I never actually felt attraction towards men in real life or person.

Like I was pretty sure I was a Girl/Woman and into Women growing up.

Along the years these fantasies increased in tone, complexity and after an awful break up a couple years ago with the person I thought I would spent the rest of my life with, they came back with full force once I realized now without that relationship I could and wanted to transition (Estrogen on its way to my home now)

Since then I have struggling even more with puzzling out this thing. Did I really liked Women, even if now I feel no romantic interest? Do I like Men, even if I have never liked a man in real life? Both? Neither? Are my sexual and romantic fantasies just a way to feel some manner of Gender Euphoria?  I even asked Women in multiple places their experiences. Some were quite direct in the fact that they felt a very visual and visceral attraction to Men, other women who identified as Straight or Bi or any sexuality that enables them to be into men seemed to share how I feel about the subject.

At this point I think its unclear, and I will only know once I start to date again in a body I feel comfortable with it. But I am leaning on the idea that I might have been an Straight girl this entire time and I have just not been at the right place, time and mindset to allow myself to like men.

Now background a side, why I am posting this? Because I still see post from time to time about Sexual Attraction, if Hormones changes it, if it will happen to them or not. Specially from time to time I see mentions of a certain condition that I cant spell because I think it shadow bans the post. You know which condition, the one where some people say trans people are not real, and are only Men  that get arousing by thought of being Women, the one that get shortened to 3 letters.

Now I have read a bit on the subject, not enough, and if someone can drop their two cents is more than welcome, but I do think a lot of it really comes from how Attraction is different between the two genders.

I must preface that I will generalize. But overall Men are more visually attracted, a common bit of knowledge and while it might seems like a overall generalization....it seems to be true overall, and while Women have this idea that they focus on feelings and personality, that is not exactly the case. It seems for most women, even if some are visual and direct in their attraction and arousal, attraction is more about the narratives and sensation. Like a man might awaken an attraction if it fits a narrative the woman has. Sure there is a visual, physical and personality component just they are secondary to it.

Like to say an example the common narrative of "Its just that he makes me laugh" might be as well a Narrative that brings women a particular sensation. He is a man that makes her feel safe enough to laugh, that clearly is smart enough and pays enough attention to mention what is funny to her. Yet there are Women out there which their attraction is more visceral and visual.

The narrative affects how the woman feels and is established they want to feel pretty, feminine, desired, etc. This is a fucking wild world, and each woman is her own world and is not as clear.

So its my idea or hypothesis that some trans woman that discover their new sexuality, might be experiencing changes in how their interpret and analyze their attraction. There might be an hormonal component as well, but its probably that now that you can be a Yourself a Woman, its easier to women that feel this type of attraction as the predominant one or maybe it always was, but you could not fit in your own desired narratives, if women and men fits the narrative stories and desires you have, as well as the very fact of transitioning changing the narratives you want and desire.

Maybe that is why some Trans Women dont experience this Sexual Orientation change. Either they have an easier time imagine the roles and narrative they want from the get go without being so affected by Gender Dysphoria or maybe they are a kind of Woman that got their main attraction type from visuals, sure they are an smaller group apparently but they do exist and are big enough.

In part I also post it because I do find it very sad that should I be correct. Because once I asked about this doubts and someone mentioned That Condition, and turns out it has a subreddit, oh God It was such a sad and grim place, I must imagine given it that most of their online space are like it. These people seemed so confident in the fact that they were not exactly trans and had this other condition completely different...and the more I think about it the most that condition seems to overlap a lot with how a lot Women experience Romance.

Instead this very thing or experience, is the thing that makes them sure they are not really trans people, or that being trans is not even a thing and is just a Fetish

They say they just feel arousal by feeling like women, a sense of euphoria, but it does seems the Narrative Women orbits towards create similar sensations; Feeling pretty, feminine, the Idea of being the Girlfriend or Wife, of course the man matters, and more visual aspects might go into the fantasy or narrative.

I believe for example this is the reason some US women have this such clear and hard rule of men needing to be 6 Feet despite being so nonsensical, like sure a tall men seems attractive on paper, but you see woman who are shorter by an entire feet or two, being very strict about it, when a man just relatively taller would do, and outside the USA this is not really a thing, Some Women just want taller men but there is not a magical height . I think collectively they have created and enforced a Narrative, and once the Narrative is there I hard to undo it. A 6 feet man paying attention to them feels special, gives them status, its something they can show off. So their Boyfriend or Partner is more special and therefore they are even more special.

And this type of example sound exactly how they describe their condition and why its not actually being Trans. When this is something some Cis Women who self identify as Attracted to men experience.

Well this has been my 2 Am rambling good people, maybe some people can tell me their vision, their experience, if they agree or disagree with me.

Venting Hea(lying)?

I am getting some relief from the notion "transgender without transitioning". After so many days of obsessing with identity questions, I feel I need this rest for now.

I am surely not disengaging (I can't now, it seems). But I need this time to heal and focus on other parts of life, still running on the dashboard.

Advice Question Gender and sexuality

I identify myself as a autosexual heteroromantic genderfluid demigirl. Though most of the time I wish I was 'just a girl', I sometimes do experience short periods of feeling alright in a male body, whether due to numbness or rarely desire of masculinity. Sometimes this makes me fear if my desire to be a girl is only sexual, I really hope it's not. I think therefore it's more accurate to call myself genderfluid. Any thoughts ?

Advice Question Should I present as fem during my job interview?

After being fired 3 weeks ago, I finally have a job interview Monday, and I'm considering going to said job interview while fem presenting. After coming to terms with being trans during my first job, and mostly coming out during my second, I want to be straight forward with who I am, but I'm worried being openly trans could fuck over my chances of getting hired. Now fair, I have gone there while presenting, including when I asked for and turned in my application, but there's a difference between presenting in a brief interaction as a customer and presenting as a potential new hire, especially since I used my legal name instead of my chosen name. I'm just not sure if I should go through with doing it.

Euphoria Thinking about transitioning feels like waiting for Disneyland

Or some equivalent event. It makes me excited for the future, even if there’s many hurdles to jump over. I’ve been thinking about going to see a doctor for wanting to transition. There’s a Planned Parenthood in my area, but I’ve never been there and I’m a little afraid to after the years of fear-mongering centered around it. Ugh. And of course, I’m worried about how people will react.

Dysphoria Everyone I get gender envy from is short (or at least shorter), and I am tall. I hate this

All the girls I want to look like and that I get gender envy from are so much shorter than me and just have a very different body type than I do. I am 6'2" so most people I see are shorter than me, but the people I want to look like the most are always half a foot or more shorter, and it just makes me feel like it's impossible for me to ever look the way I want to. Granted, I absolutely despise being tall in the first place, but it hurts so much more not even being able to find anyone my height I want to look like. And of course tall women can be incredibly attractive (I am a lesbian and it is very hard for me to resist a tall girl), but I hate being one with every fiber of my being. I'm never going to get to feel small and delicate in a relationship. Clothes are more expensive and harder to find. My height amplifies all my already rather masculine traits. I know I'm just supposed to "accept myself" and all that, but I genuinely just hate being this tall. My life would just be so much better if my body wasn't this way, and I feel devastated every day that there is nothing I can do about it

Trigger Warning Going to start tracking how many times my male coworkers get called sir 🙄

Today, I believe I really upset an alpha male by very non-chalantly asking him to not vape in the store. I mean I was straight up like “Heyyyy I don’t even care but they make me say it I’m sorry :/ but it’s okay you’re fine just please don’t again” and then I experienced one of those weird moments where they just kinda yell sir over and over again, kinda shit I only thought existed on IG reels. Weird moment and honestly kinda comedic to me because I actually personally don’t care what pronouns people use for me, my identity and transition are more of an internal thing for me. But what hurt was that someone was trying to hurt me if that makes sense?

Then there are those other times where, even in the south, I internally am thinking “Idk man this is a lot of sirs I feel like you’re trying really hard to say that right now, and you seem kinda weird about it” but idk if those times are in my head or not, I’m sure it’s a mix of both.

But I think I’m going to start keeping track of how often the men I work with are called sir in an interaction with other men. Because now that I think about it, I really feel like these mf are trying to make a point 😭 If my “findings” are that people are fuckin with me I’m going to wear a full face of makeup everyday or something, whatever I can do to piss em off a little more. I can be me till the day I die and I want to spend the rest of my life making idiots uncomfortable tbh. Feel pretty good about this season of my life tbh and I’m glad I’m happy with myself and even feeling “combative” like this, bc there was a time this would’ve hurt me on a way different level. i don’t know if i’m even hurt about today or just sad about what it says about people.

Advice Question best natural color corrector?

like the title says, I want a natural skin-like color corrector that can both work on its own or under makeup to cover a 5 o’clock shadow.

I’ve had a little laser done and have very little facial hair left, but what I can’t stand is that pesky shadow from where it used to be. it’s subtle but still feels too noticeable to me. part of my love for hormones is that I feel less and less like I have to wear a ton of makeup every time I leave the house, but the thing that always messes that up is the urge to cover my upper lip. suddenly concealer is everywhere and then bronzer, blush, and an eye look to balance it out, and then brows and a lip of course, and then, before I know it, I’m no longer giving natural clean girl princess energy. help!!

(brown girls w neutral/semi-olive tones pls chime in)

Advice Question Would it be wrong to go against my parents wishes and go on HRT early?

Earlier this year I (20 MTF) came to terms with the fact that I'm trans and have wanted to go on HTR ever since, focusing on losing body fat, building muscle, learning makeup and changing my appearance while taking HRT seems easier than doing it all at separate times and it feels like I'd achieve my desired appearance sooner that way, but after coming out to my parents they both think I should wait at least a year before I start even thinking about HRT in case I change my mind in that time, but I know that even if I do change my mind about being trans, I'd still never want to go back to being seen as a cis man and would still be happy with the changes HRT would've already done to my body.

so would it be wrong to start taking HTR and not tell them?

Help My endo started me on progesterone before estrogen?

My endo started me on progesterone and spiro approximately 3 months before I start estrogen (probably mid-December, I started the prog and spiro mid-September). Everything I've seen online says that progesterone can harm breast development, so I've been compiling some studies that say anything about the topic to hopefully show my doctor. I just wanted to a) make sure this is bad and that I shouldn't be on progesterone this early and b) see if anyone has any studies or anything of the sort that I could use to convince her. For context, I'm a minor in the US.

Help I hit my 1 year mark on HRT yesterday and I’m honestly disappointed

The first 6 months felt like feeling sun on your skin after a never ending winter, the last 6 months have felt like absolute plateau with no change. I’ve tried so hard. I’ve gotten good at makeup and dressing myself, I’ve grown my hair out and take care of it. I have a skincare routine that I do every day. But every time I look in that mirror I see the same fucking person I was before. Yeah I look a little different for sure, but I don’t pass, not even fucking close. My chest seems to have stopped growing, and my figure refuses to change, my hips are marginally wider and my ass is bigger and maybe I’ve had some fat redistribution in my face, but every time I see myself all I can focus on are the ugly parts. My double chin, my flared ribs, my shoulders, my stomach fat that refuses to leave no matter how little I eat.

Like yes, has my life improved in some ways? Absolutely. But it hasn’t changed the way I see myself. It feels like people can say I’m pretty or say that “oh all you need to do to pass is voice train and improve your mannerisms” but like deep down my brain is just screaming that it’s lies and cope. I want to be pretty, I want to be seen as a woman and surprise them when they find out I’m trans, not the fact that they see me and go “oh a transgender” and then tiptoe around me like I’m liable to fucking go crazy at any moment. I don’t know what I’m supposed to do here, I just need honest opinions from people who aren’t worried about how it’ll affect my self image. It’s already rock bottom anyway, so it’s not like it can get worse right?

I’m supposed to start prog soon, and I’m waiting on bloodwork to come back but like, if this is how I’m gonna be stuck forever do I just have to accept that I’m always going to be clocky? I know people will say not to care and to just be yourself but at the end of the day what am I supposed to do with that other than just let it consume me alive.

Advice Question asking for some reccs

I'm gender questioning and don't really want to do anything publicly so I'm just asking for things I can experiment with privately/anonymously, like are there certain websites where I can see how it feels to use different pronouns / etc?

things ive been doing already before questioning: obsessively reading transfem and sapphic fics (ao3, scribblehub, etc.), reading gender bender (only in a certain direction). now on hindsight this is kinda incriminating, is it weird for a cis male to enjoy doing those things?

things i've done while questioning (i started seriously questioning yesterday/today): ive been reading the gender dysphoria bible. not finished.

uh yea also my reddit feed has that subreddit that I can't mention here cuz it's banned, just from the algorithm ig. but I heard the place is pretty negative so idk I need new subreddits to be recommended

thanks! any help / advice is appreciated

Discussion Being a Tomboy as a Trans Woman Can Make Passing Harder Than You Think

I feel like this is unpopular advice, but if passing is genuinely important to you, you cannot always approach presentation the exact same way a cis woman can

A cis woman can throw on men’s jeans, a huge hoodie, no makeup, a baseball cap, and deliberately masculinize herself and still usually be read as female because people are picking up on a hundred other sexed cues. A trans woman, especially early in transition or if she’s already somewhat androgynous, may not have that same margin for error yet

And I see women get frustrated because they’re consistently being misgendered while also intentionally choosing clothes, hair, grooming, and styling that obscure virtually every feminine cue they have. At some point you have to be willing to experiment

Wear the feminine outfit. Shape your brows. Learn what makeup actually flatters your face instead of deciding “makeup doesn’t work on me” after three attempts. Try different hairstyles. Figure out your proportions. Wear jewelry. Pay attention to silhouettes. None of this means you need to become a hyperfeminine caricature of yourself, and obviously femininity is not what makes someone a woman. But presentation absolutely affects how strangers sex you

I also think, for some trans women, the “I’m just a tomboy” thing can become armor. Dressing femininely feels vulnerable because now you’re actually trying. If you try and still get misgendered, that hurts more than being able to tell yourself you weren’t trying anyway. So you retreat into oversized masculine clothes and act like caring about passing would somehow make you shallow

But you might genuinely be surprised by what happens when you give yourself permission to try.
You may think you “could never pass” when you have never actually seen yourself with flattering hair, properly applied makeup, shaped brows, clothes cut for your body, and a presentation designed to emphasize the feminine features you already have

And yes, once you consistently pass, you often have much more freedom to play with androgyny or dress like a tomboy without it changing how people perceive you. But getting there can require learning femininity first

You do not have to dress femininely. You do not have to wear makeup. You do not even have to care about passing

But if passing is something you desperately want, stop treating effort like betrayal. Experiment. Give femininity a genuine chance. You might be much closer than you think
