I dont get the deal with this woman. Shes an attractive shelf that apparently is right wing? Theres been how many of these over the last 10 years that were better?
She probably leans right wing, shes registered republican. Not every person is a political binary but people do lean one way or the other. For all the libs in hollywood a few right wingers isnt that big of a deal
There were someone who posted her GOP affiliation registration, but she registered after Trump was reelected. I assume that she likely was disappointing in his return.
My assumption is based on the movie Reality where she portrays the leaker of the documents regarding the Russian interference in the 2016 election.
Might be hard to believe but it is possible to have right leaning (common sense) beliefs and not support the president’s actions and behaviors.
You don’t need to be ride or die. Just because someone doesn’t agree with the president that does not mean that person has to support open borders and men in women’s sports.
They're going to say "I don't believe his lies" but then they also believe that men are in women's sports. Likely because they were told that it's a problem and they should care about it. So yes, I think they believe his lies. And if you believe his lies, then you're not supporting common sense.
If someone was accusing me of being a MAGAt, I would immediately do everything I could to make sure people understand I’m not one of them. This happened to Taylor Swift a decade ago. The fact that Sydney Sweeny never clarified she’s not a MAGA cultist after being accused of being one leads me to believe to believe she is.
What I'm hearing "she's right wing based upon the following evidence, which is all based off of my emotions and things I made up in my head. You can't accept these facts because your judgement is too clouded by your emotions."
Classic 80/20 rule in swing - majority of people are centrists or close to. As it should be. Political parties will never line up with people’s beliefs 100%

My guess would be ^ or the target lady. Explaining to him they’re just characters will be like telling a child santa isn’t real.
She's literally never voiced a political opinion anywhere. Sweeney has publicly stated that she considers herself a non-political person focused on her work in the arts. In other words, the rest of the internet trying to drag her into this political crap are all being a bunch of incel jackasses that can't possibly comprehend someone just living their life and staying out of it. "How dare you not pick a side and dump all your social capital into that".
Now, she is technically a registered republican, but that doesn't really mean anything. It's actually normal for up to 10% of registered republicans to vote for the democratic candidate, and a lot of people just stick with the politics of their parents. Her parents are known MAGA supporters, but that doesn't mean she is. Hell my mom is a hardcore MAGA supporter, and I think Trump is a complete dumpster fire. In fact, Sydney avoids politics entirely probably because she's too busy working and enjoying her life. I don't agree with dragging people into politics when they seem to want nothing to do with it.
Gonna be real the fact she "doesn't really care about politics" is partly why they love her because that's pro status quo and makes her malleable to them as a blank slate to sexualize
It's a good position for any actor if they want a lot of work.
When you hire someone like Tom Hanks, you want a qualified actor who will bring people with their star power and not alienate anyone. You want this because you are throwing $100 million at making a movie, and you want as many people to watch it as possible. You could give a crap what the political affiliations of your audience are. The less you know about an actor's personal life, the more you can just picture them in their movie role.
If an actor wants to take a political stand, that's great, but I don't agree with them being bullied into doing it. They are living their dream. Let them.
Except conservatives are doing exactly that by championing what appears to be a pretty apolitical, but republican-sympathetic actress as the counter culture response to the woke left
My personal life? Very conservative Christian. Politically? Libertarian with a lot of caveats (like we might as well get on with single payer because the “free market” so successfully engineered the medical system for rent seeking that we are out of other choices). Voting wise? Trump is the worst of all worlds from the left and right. Dumpster fire indeed.
More conservatives need to tell it like it is, Trump is the worst option there possibly is. I'm tired of the 'no new wars crowd' bending with the wind everytime Trump farts.
I think the timing of when she registered as a Republican puts a different context on what you are saying … it’s not like she’s been registered as Republican for years and forgot… she register as a Republican in 2024 in Florida. You really think anyone that isn’t on board with MAGA is registering as a Republican in the last 5-10 years?
Well she moved to Florida. When you register to vote, you have to pick a party. I know this seems crazy to you, but most young people just pick the political party of their parents because they really never got that invested in it. It's not that young people don't care, it's that they usually feel the following when it comes to politics:
1) They have no voice... and most of the time they don't really. You go your whole life with people not listening to you, you learn to shut up.
2) They are busy. Young adults are much, much busier. In her case, she has a tiny window to make a fortune, and she already has, but she's trying to maximize it. She won't be getting such lucrative deals in 10 years, and she knows that. The life span of a "hot actress" is short. Look at Cameron Diaz, she was A list top earner for probably 10 years. Now, she would be a supporting actress making 1/10th what she used to if she hadn't retired.
3) They are still learning their opinions on everything. That takes time. You inherit the views of your parents and then refine from there. A 20 year old going around pretending they know everything is insufferable. A 40 year old might have some good points.
Being a registered Republican only means you can vote in the Republican primary, but it does not affect who you can vote for in the general election. There was a time when people would switch sides to mess up the other party's primary election.
Ok, sounds like joining a party in my country. Which generally is a reflection of your views. So she went out of her way to regester as a Republican to vote in their primaries. Sounds like something a Republican would do...
If someone was regestered as a
communist would that be a technicality, or would it be fair to say it might reflect their political views and they're probably sympathetic towards communism?
Not sure what country you're from. But that's not how it works in the state. When we register to vote, the DMV would simply ask our party preference. That's about it. Most people don't bother to change it. A good example is North Carolina and Louisiana. Louisiana has more registered dem voters, but they voted for Trump. For other countries, you have to put in the effort to register as a party member, which is a different thing.
Has there actually been anything to prove her parents are both hardcore MAGA? Neither of them talk politics. Hardcore MAGA replace their entire personality with MAGA to the point where you don't need to dig around to find out, they'll tell you.
When I got my license in Cali they ask if you want to register to vote, I did and when they asked for what party I said republican cause I thought I was being rebellious cause Cali was a Dem state. Had I actually thought out my political positions and determined which party best repeated my interests? Of course not, I was a dumb 18 year old getting my license, there's a chance she's done the same thing and hasn't bothered changing because she a multi millionaire actress that doesn't pay attention to politics because she's rich and that shit won't affect her.
Honestly, in a lot of areas this might be the smartest move. Put as many Ken Paxtons on the ticket as you can. Or, if you're in other types of areas, put your Adam Kinzinger types onto the ticket as a moderate non-MAGA option. There exist level headed conservatives, its just they don't currently make it to the November Ticket because of how MAGA has parasitized the GOP.
Go vote for your local republican primary runner who is up there talking about balancing the budget, who has proved they WILL balance a budget, not just that they get mad about welfare spending. Go vote for a Republican candidate who is open about "Rule of law" being important, and is clear about how it needs to ALSO apply to the federal government. Pull the republican front runners back toward sane/moderate views. Vote for anyone who doesn't engage in trans panic nonsense.
Or saying I am not expert in certain field. I am not sure why the same people say celebrities have no idea about life of average Joe and at the same expect them to influence political views of their fans. It's pretty contrary thinking if someone would ask me, not surprising Americans are government by celebrity at the end lol. You fight and support exactly the same disease.
Not saying this applies to her, but also being a registered republican doesn’t necessarily mean anything. I know someone who said they change the party affiliation often so they can vote in primaries to have more influence on candidates and things like that. I don’t know how true that is but just saying I guess it’s a possibility. Also some could have registered ten years ago and just never voted or changed it, doesn’t really reflect where they are at politically at this time
I was a registered republican, and I voted for Obama. Now I'm unaffiliated, and I voted for Harris. People just want a reason to hate because haters gonna hate hate hate (wise words of Taylor Swift) as it gives meaning to their pathetic lives.
She doesn’t use her platform to divide people. She keeps her opinions to herself. You can engage with the political system and vote, as every citizen should, without turning it into a blue no matter who maga sh*t fest. I know though….. can’t decide on whether someone’s work is good or bad until they have sworn fealty to left and their moving definition of what words mean
Registering isnt actively supporting one side, it just gives you the power to vote in that sides primary and maybe avoid some of the god awful options that have won.
I have no idea about this women but have you Never heard of registering for an opposing party to vote for their weaker candidates in the primary? That’s a thing
politics shapes reality it’s not something like religion where everyone can have their own and keep it to themselves. our political decisions directly impact others and registering republican in fall 2024 is by no means a neutral stance.
given the criminal conviction, countless allegations, and election denial that preceded 2024 election, the chaos of Trump47 which includes erratic behavior of ice and the supply chain crisis caused by a failing regime change war in iran could be seen from a mile away.
we have every right to question those with a platform or anyone for that matter. sucks that some ppl don’t like that.
We're not talking about Trump. He's awful. I agree.
Questioning peoples' views? Absolutely. Do it! I applaud it.
Questioning peoples' position? Yeah, totally. go for it.
Completely fabricating a political position for someone as being opposed to you and publicly attacking them with vitriol when they never once iterated that position or any position on that topic and then using their job as a professionally attractive person as a reason to hate them too. Yeah... no sorry. I'm really, really not on board with that.
Yeah huge ups for staying out of politics but I’m glad she’s totally fine being half-naked for sports betting ads. Really nice to know where her priorities lie!
She's a model. She gets naked and poses and gets paid a lot of money to do this. That's a business. It's her job. I'm not sure why you struggle with this. If your problem is with anyone using their sexuality and looks to help sell products, that's just slut shaming. It all comes back to that guy calling the women in the gym "whores". Let's not be like that.
That's about the lamest argument I've ever heard. She attended her mom's birthday party. Her mom happened to make it "make 60 great again" or whatever. For all you know, she hates Trump, but she simply doesn't want to alienate her mom who she loves, which is a very reasonable thing that a normal human would do.
Signing up to work for this administration is itself a political play. You watch. She'll either play ball with the corruption or get kicked to the curb.
> …”a bunch of incel jackasses that can’t possibly comprehend someone just living their life….”
I see far more female voices criticizing Sweeney on the internet than dudes. When it’s dudes it’s the pretty predictable ‘8oob5’ or ‘wood’ comment. The women are the ones tearing up her looks, acting, character, political affiliations, thigh gap, eyelid folks, etc et al.
I mean that tracks. Women slut shame more than men do, and it's still wrong. It's just another form of hate speech. Society is finally turning around realizing that it's not cool and slowly changing to condemn it. In a way, it's kind of like racism. 80 years ago, it was common place for people to use racial slurs everywhere. Those same slurs would get you rightfully canceled today. Society decided that kind of hate speech was not okay, and we socially punished people for engaging in it. The same thing happened with homophobic speech. I'm in my 40's. When I was a kid, people everywhere used the three letter f-word all the time. Lots of other slurs were used as well to refer to gay people. Now, that language has been universally condemned, and you don't hear it anymore.
Maybe in 30 years, slut shaming will also be treated the same universally. Until then, I'll be on the right side of history and condemn it now.
I don’t have an opinion on her really, apart from I don’t think she’s a very good actor. Her best role was easily in The White Lotus where she just played a stuck up cunt but I don’t think she was particularly acting there which is why it was so natural.
If she doesn’t want to be objectified, or people have issue with people objectifying her, maybe she should stop getting her tits out for attention.
Yep, it's exhausting. I refuse to get into politics anymore with people I'm talking to, it's not worth it and just makes everyone upset, if that makes them assume I'm a trumper then so be it, I don't need those people in my life
No, it just means you aren't political. Just because you live your life in a warped "us vs them" universe where everyone has to take a stand and abhor the other side doesn't mean everyone does that. Most people feel like politics are a million miles away from them, and they can't alter it anyway. They have their own opinions on everything, but rather than try to preach them all the time, they focus on doing other things with their time. They might see someone who has different political views as simply someone who disagrees with them. Not a mortal enemy who is inherently evil. The person I just described is most people. You are in the minority.
No, most people are much more centrist than media likes to portray politics. But with the current issues going on worldwide you do yourself a disservice by being “non-political”
Apathy and complacency is siding with whoever wins. It tells anyone who cares about others that you have no strong morals or opinions, which is a massively privileged take to have
Okay, so there's a lot of nuance to this. Should people be more involved in social change. Yeah, probably.
Should people take a more proactive stance in their government and society around them? Sure yeah.
Are people inherintly evil or bad for not doing that? No. It's not that simple.
We should all be more involved like we should all eat more vegetables and recycle and pick up litter when we find it and put shopping carts back in the thing and drive a more fuel efficient car. If we all participate in making the world better, the world gets better.
However, people only have so much bandwidth. Sydney never chose a path of politics. She's an actress who stars in movies where she's basically the hot girl. She makes a killing doing it. Great. Good for her. Saying she is a bad person and condemning her because of beliefs she might not even have that people are imposing on her which, if she does have them, she is keeping privately to herself is wrong. It's just wrong. I don't care if she's beautiful and successful, it doesn't make it okay to make her into a national strawman (or uhm, strawperson). I refuse to think it's okay to condemn someone for privately held beliefs that they might not even have. Then those same people use her looks and her willingness to get naked for money as an excuse to say she is a morally bankrupt person when I also don't think those are immoral acts. In fact, I see the condemning of them to be immoral slut shaming.
I'm going to speak up when something is blatantly wrong, and this is blatently wrong.
The Sweeney family is very vocally right wing and Trump supporters. The internet's hate for her originally started when her family hosted a Trump-themed party a handful of years ago and she refused to apologize.
I'm very right wing and politically active, but I get how "refused to apologize" does imply the onus is on her to correct something rather than it being a silly demand/purity test from the left
TBC, my point is that the politically unengaged dont typically say things like "the demands of the left". Regardless of your political orientation and feelings on who was right or wrong, it sounds something someone with political opinions would say.
She never said that was her reason, I said that was her reason lmao.
Admitting fault and apologizing for what you did is literally admitting that you're at fault for something bad, so apologizing is in a way saying "You're right, I take accountability for my wrongdoing, please forgive me" Her not wanting to pander to these freaks by giving some bumass apology to make the lefties feel good is, in a way, not catering to the demands of the left.
She was in fully nude advertisment(but covered up by various means) and there was some outrage about the advertisement from Karens. Were the Karen's leftist? Idk.
Dude I’m a straight man. That ad is too much to be played over prime time sports.
Targeted, online ad? Fine. I think it’s tacky but sex sells to the lowest common denominator - which is the target audience for online gambling I guess.
She, herself, has never actually said she was right wing, but she was dubbed that when she was at a family gathering and some of her family members had red hats. She also just does a lot of shit that caters to that type of audience.
A lot of it comes from heavily reading into the “great jeans” ad and her reactions to the controversy. But yeah she’s never directly voiced a political opinion that I can tell.
Trump likes blondes. Ivana, Marla, Karoline Levitt, Natalie Harp (social media chick). b-cup or larger. This “press secretary” was so blatantly cast to the stereotype that you’d think she would have passed on the job offer. Nope, but that passes the must be bimbo requirement.
I don't even think she's right wing I think she's just tits on heels and does whatever to stay relevant. She doesn't know or care about the consequences of anything she does as long as people know who she is. Great tits though, I mean absolutely amazing, but not the first or last pair I'll say that about.
Wow I’m pretty fucking liberal compared to most in my area but to speak about a woman that way is wild. She’s an actor with opinions. She’s not the enemy
She isn’t openly right wing. But she does fully embrace the idea that she can sell her body for fame and wealth, and that there is nothing wrong with her being hot in a traditional way.
At the same time, she avoids speaking out on political issues. Back in the day this was the Michael Jordan “Republicans buy sneakers too” attitude, but in 2026 if you aren’t actively speaking out against [insert perceived injustice here] you are implicitly supporting it. So since she doesn’t spout lefty talking points people assume she is MAGA.
Which people should know is bs by looking at Taylor Swift. For years she avoided talking about politics because she didn’t want to wade into that shark tank. The right was convinced she was a closet conservative and the left condemned her, until she actually started publicly expressing the progressive views she always had.

I dont get the deal with this woman. Shes an attractive shelf that apparently is right wing? Theres been how many of these over the last 10 years that were better?
