This happens constantly. I've not opened Amazon Music on any of my devices yet this shows up on the same Echo Show 5 ten or twelve times a week, the sound bars bouncing around indicating something is playing somewhere (in this case Yo-Yo Ma) though no sound is audible. No voice commands will convince it to stop, pause or quit. The only method I've found to dismiss the widget is to restart the device.

But it will be back. Oh, yes, it will be back. Anyone know what's going on here and how to make it stop?

Hi, I have the latest Echo Show 8. When I set an alarm, it plays the simple tone, which is the least effective choice; I have slept through it a few times. I chose the countertop tone, which resembles a standard alarm clock, yet the device still uses the simple tone. Have I missed a setting, or is there a fault with my Echo?

Anyone else having a problem where their echo show is bringinto up the screen where it shows the song lyrics but it's blank and is there a fix??

So its like like a year since this feature just stopped working for me. I can't drop in and it doesn't give open for live either. I just de-registered it and re-registered it to my account. I still can't drop in. Says its bee re-registered and I need to register my number. So I've told it to send me a code like 20 times. I have not gotten a text with a code. I've checked spam folder and everything. Restarted my cell phone. I'm frustrated. I use the drop in to talk to my kids when working and not being able to is driving me nuts

Anyone have a work around or know what I need to do or how to contact amazon? Something anything to get this thing to work

I've just rejoined the echo ecosystem, I'm mostly on Google home, but needed some smart clocks, so picked up two of the latest dots with clock (the one with a semi circular screen) which came with Alexa+

For some reason, it randomly calls me by another name. It knows my real name, and I've checked everything over in the app that it has my real name, and it's all correct. It will correctly call me by name 90% of the time, then randomly decides that my name is Ruth, and will continue to call me Ruth until I correct it.

When I ask why it's calling me Ruth, it claims to just be confused and goes back to calling me by my real name. At one point I managed to get it to say that it thought I was "Ruth Peters" but knows my real name is "**\\**" so will be sure to get my name right in future.

I have no idea where it plucked the name from, I don't know anyone by that name, and both clocks are new/factory fresh so it's not a previous owner. What's worse, is that I can't get it to repeat the issue, due to it being random, so customer support can't even see what's causing it, it's really weird.

Lyrics used to display when I played music on my Echo Show. When I told A+ (hahaha! What a misnomer!) to show lyrics, it instead gave the msg above. Wouldn’t take me to lyrics in settings, either.

**Device:** LG 55UQ8000PSB (55-inch LG UHD Smart TV)

**Issue:** Alexa detects my TV as a speaker instead of a TV. LG ThinQ works correctly, and I can turn the TV on and off through the LG ThinQ app, but Alexa does not recognize it as a compatible TV device.

I've tried unlinking and relinking the accounts several times, including through the Alexa app on the TV, but the issue persists.

Has anyone experienced this issue or found a solution?

where do i get a charger for an echo dot 4th gen? i just dug one out of the back of my closet and i don’t have a cable that fits. what kind of charger is it and where can i get one? i live in new zealand, so i can’t use amazon (exorbitant shipping). do i need a specific charger made for it or does it use a general type of charger that i can pull from anywhere? if so, where do i get one

If you've got a 2021 Echo Show 8 sitting around or just want to get away from Amazon, there's now a way off Fire OS. It was recently unlocked on XDA (https://xdaforums.com/t/unlock-root-twrp-unbrick-amazon-echo-show-8-2nd-gen-2021-athena.4804958/), and I've got 64-bit Linux running on it with the screen, touch, Wi-Fi, speakers, and mics working.

I'm building it for TECHO5, which replaces Alexa with a local Home Assistant voice assistant. No Amazon account, no cloud, no ads. It already runs on the Show 5 (both gens), the 1st gen Show 8, the Spot and the Dot 2nd gen: https://github.com/HuskerMinion/techo5

The Show 8 2nd gen isn't ready to install yet. I'll post when it is. Fair warning: unlocking means taking your chances with a brick, so read the XDA thread before trying anything. I've found updating to the latest release offered by amazon before unlocking works best. Linux also works better than Windows (for me) for the unlock process.

My Echo Dot 4th Gen disconnects from my Jio set-top box after a couple minutes of playing TV audio. My Portronics Bluetooth speaker works perfectly with the same Jio box, and the Echo Dot works fine with my phone. Is this a compatibility issue? Any fix or workaround?

Trying to connect Yale lock via Matter. No matter what I try cannot add the device in Alexa , continue to get device not found. Tried scanning QR and entering code. Any help here? Not sure if device is going into discover mode, when I press the gear button nothing happens. Both devices are on same account and wi/fi network

Whenever I play a YouTube video, the video will pause or move in slow motion for a few seconds at random times while the audio plays perfectly fine. I don't remember it doing this when I first got the echo show 11, but it started happening in the 2nd week of owning it.

Anyone also get this issue? If so, what is the fix?

I’m researching a useful door reminder for an Echo household. The goal is a warning when a patio or back door has been left open, without an announcement for every quick trip outside.

Before relying on a setup, these are the cases I’d want it to pass:

• Open for 15 seconds, then close: no warning two minutes later.

• Leave it open past the chosen threshold: one announcement naming the door.

• Close it after that warning: any pending reminders stop.

• Open, close, then reopen: the timing starts from the new opening.

That first case seems like the important difference between “the door opened” and “the door is still open.” Being able to ask Alexa for the current door status is another separate check.

For people who have this working with an Echo now, where does the duration check and cancellation happen—in Alexa, the sensor’s app, or another hub? Exact sensor model and integration would help explain what actually makes it work. I’m especially interested in setups that pass the close-before-the-warning test, rather than just delaying an announcement.

I just had this exchange with Alexa. I was happy, because had I tried that timing question with OG Alexa I have a feeling the reply would be akin to "WTF you talking about??" lol. But plus understood me and was able to setup my reminder. Yay!

But earlier in the day I told it to remind me to leave sometime after 6, couldn't remember the exact time I had said. So I asked her to find and delete that other reminder. I said 6 PM, don't know why it heard AM but it went and deleted a task for next year that has nothing at all to do with leaving! Then when I asked her to undo, that wasn't possible. By then I'd already forgot the date/time so I asked her to repeat to me what she deleted and that was not possible either.

So it was a simultaneously pleasing and displeasing experience, lol

Many years ago we had the T-Mobile skill enabled, but that skill was deleted by Amazon. Almost every day the yellow light comes on with a notification to configure my address in T-Mobile skills in the Alexa app for emergency services. I have not only searched for the skill manually, but used the search bar and it says there is no T-Mobile skill in my app. Any suggestions as to how I can get rid of that annoying yellow light without having to listen to the same crap every day? Oh, and I have notifications in the app turned off!! This is the only one I get.

I often use this command to put the music on when I'm in a room.

I've never really figured out how or where it pulls this playlist together. Does anyone else use this command and have you figured out if there's a source of music (a playlist?) somewhere that it's shuffling from? The music is a 80% correct mix of new and old stuff - even including stuff I've never heard before. I presume it's just an algorithmic thing?
