This makes me feel better about getting flagged for my jeans zipper. Also something to look forward to the next time I travel - I now have 3 surgical screws in my leg, they'll definitely get buzzed.
So I actually have 6 screws and a titanium rod, but that never gets flagged (I am assuming because it’s not a true xray), but because the piercing is on the surface it’s different.
That said - I’ve had it for years and it is only this year that it has started getting flagged.
Yeah the piecing is also medical grade titanium, have even had an MRI with it in, but like I said only this year has it started getting flagged at the airport.
If I just walk through the metal detector it never sets it off.
Chances are you won't get flagged since the material isn't the kind the scanners are really looking for. I've had a rod the length of my calf and a screw in my hip for 22 years and I think I've gone through airport security 12 times. The only times I've had anything happen was the two times flying out of Cincinnati this year, both times I had to take off my shoes and go back through because it was picking up something at my ankle where the screws for the rod attachment are
I have an artificial hip. It does not register on US screening, but it did in Iceland. The screener there said larger body metal almost always does- hips, metal plates, but screws usually don't, and knees sometimes do and sometimes don't.
If it’s not indecent to ask…was that not extremely painful to get? Like isn’t the whole point of the clit to be almost entirely nerve endings?
Then once you have it…is it more pleasurable to be touched there? Is there a slight and constant pleasurable tingle? Or if you shift your hips just right it gives you a rush? Or does it just make simulation more intense? Or is it purely decoration?
It wasn’t that bad to get! The piecing is just through the hood, not the actual clit so really just going through a thin membrane. It was less painful and faster to heal than my helix (upper ear) piercing.
For me it definitely adds to the sensations. And also, though not as frequently when I first got it, it came sometimes self-stimulate if that makes sense?
Basically it sits so that the bottom ball of the piercing rests on top of the clit.
You’d be surprised, after the first couple days you get used to it and can ignore it especially with underwear and pants holding things close and preventing movement. But if you want you can basically get a hands free arrival with the right muscle movements/contractions.
I had to take my helix piercings out. As a dude in the trades they just never healed as they were constantly being jostled or snagged. Lasted about 6 months until I was like "you know what? Maybe the punk rock/goth aesthetic isn't the safest around a bunch of heat, motors, belts, fans, and electricity" and took out all of my piercings lol. This was a few years ago and now I look like a normal almost 40 year old dude and people who didn't know me prior are shocked when they see older pics of me.
Oh gotcha. My second earlobes are a massive PITA if I remove them. I’ve had to re-pierce at home too many times. It’s on my list to visit a decent tattoo shop and see if they can fix for me.
There is only one APP certified piercer near me (I’m in a pretty rural area and they were about an hour away) so that is who I went to. But any certified piercer should be able to do it.
My upper helix took almost a year to heal but the second piercing on earlobes were the worst. If you don't mind me asking, how long does a clit piercing take to heal? Are you able to swap it for non-metallic ones in case of a MRI?
I'm very late to the thread so apologies if you have answered it already.
It took about 6 weeks to heal, it was very fast and easy to care for.
You can swap for a non-metallic one, but it is very hard to take out. Mine is med-grade titanium so the only time I had an MRI with it they just let me keep it in.
The few times I have changed it I have gone back to the piercer and had her do it.
6 weeks is fast, wow! I thought it would take longer given the location, friction against underwear etc. Our bodies are truly fascinating. I had a whole plan of getting my daith or maybe get two more helix piercings. However, all that went out the window when I got the first one and the pain was something else.
The clitoral hood is closer to the foreskin on a penis, so while I'm sure it would be painful, it wouldn't be anywhere near as painful as a piercing through the clitoris.
Also excuse my limited knowledge but do people even get piercings though the clitoris? Doesn't it destory the nerve endings and the flicking the ol' bean just don't work as well?
I'm part of an extreme body mod group, I've heard of a couple of women who have pierced their clitoris and a few gentlemen who bisected their penis. So yeah people do it but they probably shouldn't.
I also have a VCH and love anonymously oversharing on the internet lmao
It has 100% improved sex for me. Because of the jewelry, when things are moving around while doing the deed, it just is able to stimulate parts of my clit that otherwise couldn’t be accessed. Even just the slight motion has improved every single sex position and I can now orgasm from any position when I previously wasn’t able to. A big part of this I’m sure is mental because I’m much more consciously thinking about how the area feels.
That being said, as with all functional piercings, your mileage may vary depending on your anatomy and the degree to which you get desensitized to things. I have both nipples pierced and one got a huge increase in sensation and the other…she’s just kind of there lol
EDIT: To answer your question about it being painful to get, yes it was. In the instant of the needle going through, it was for sure my most painful piercing (I have 20 for reference). However, there was no aching or tenderness that I had with every other piercing. I’d compare it to someone flicking your ear hard. Hurts in the moment, but doesn’t really leave any throbbing. If for some reason I had to, I’d much rather get my VCH redone than my tongue for comparison.
I got mine after I had been injured in an accident and off work for a few months. I really wanted to do something and so while I was stuck in bed I started researching different piercings and then found this one and decided to go for it!
It really depends on your anatomy. Not every clit is designed for every piercing. I am very much an innie, so my piercer didn’t think a horizontal one would sit well or be comfortable.
For the vertical you need enough space to support the piercing. Mine is pretty small, but I was just able to get the smallest size.
They will do a cue-tip test where they take the cotton off the top of the tip to make it less bulky, and will then insert it under the hood, and if you have at least enough space for the top of the cuetip then it should work.
I'm into a few body mods and I've been thinking a few piercings in the area to run lace through them for fun parties. Now you got me thinking about traveling with such piercings.
No the metal detectors never go off, it is medical grade titanium. I assume it sets off the body sensors because it sits on top of the skin as opposed to my leg rod and screws which do not get flagged in the scanner.
I’ve had it for years though and travel semi-frequently for work and only this year has it started being picked up by the scanners. Up until now it never flagged anything.
The nonconsensual black and white nudes generation machine probably got it's resolution increased or the algorithm that searches them for anomalies got updated.
It is already medical grade titanium, so it doesn’t set off the metal detectors. It does set off the full body scanners, but only as of this year. I’ve had the piercing for years and it had never been flagged before.
