Discussion Difference between male and female cast in cartoons
Both cartoons and anime have the same problem when it comes to the representation of women: why can’t we simply be represented in all our various forms, just as men are?

Hot Take Anything can and will be used against you
My favorite is weaponizing mental health diagnoses. “If you weren’t so [Dx] I wouldn’t cheat/be violent/etc.”
And “Your [Dx] is what drives me to drink/cheat/see you less of a person.”

Discussion Men only want to smash the patriarchy when it comes to chivalry
Men will agree with every misogynistic ideal, belief and custom but when it comes to discussing chivalry, they're all ready to destroy the patriarchy. 💀
Examples of chivalry that men HATE:
1) Opening the door for a woman when entering an unfamiliar place, a man must enter before a woman.
The original reason for this was protective: the man would go in first to "inspect" the surroundings and check for any potential dangers, ensuring the space was safe before the woman entered.
2) Position on the sidewalk: Walk on the outer side of the sidewalk and let the woman walk on the inside.
3) Pay for an appointment first: many consider the gesture an act of courtesy, a way to show interest, care and appreciation for woman’s time (often linked to the traditional concept of the "provider" role)
Regarding the last point: since one rule of chivalry is tied to the concept of the "provider” how is it that men who go on and on about being the providers end up holding back precisely when it’s time to actually provide? 💀
Ps. I I know that chivalry is considered benevolent sexism, but have yall noticed how quickly they want to eradicate it? ☕️

Hot Take Men are not the gatekeepers of relationships
"Women are the gatekeepers of sex. Men are the gatekeepers of relationships."
I've heard this parroted online every now and then. I used to somewhat believe it until I realized it was total bullshit. It's one of those "redpill" talking points about dating dynamics between men and women.
The majority of men do not have endless options to women to be THAT picky about who they get into relationships with. I would even go as far as saying that most men end up "settling" in relationships and marriages. (I hate the word "settling" but in this context I am referring to men who are getting with women that they don't actually love/desire but merely tolerate and who fills a purpose).
Furthermore, I think men push this narrative to make it seem like they have the upper hand (spoiler alert: they don't!). It puts women in positions where they allow men to dangle commitment and marriage. It leads to women being desperate, because you're put in a scarcity mindset.
I have learned that alot of men will manipulate you into believing that you don't have options and that you have to perform to be "chosen" for a relationship. Once you realize it's an illusion of power, you can take your own power back.

Venting Can't venture outside this subreddit
Everytime I go to my feed it's just a barrage of misogyny. I'll get a handful of posts on stuff I'm actually interested and then just men being terrible. I fucking hate it. Even from subs that are theoretically women friendly.
We have to take a hardline stance on men or it becomes a den of pure misogyny. Like how you can't have one punk Nazi (what a fucking oxymoron) in a punk bar. Otherwise it just becomes a Nazi bar.

Venting Men say sex is meaningless to them but simultaneously their love language
Particularly in red pill spaces they often try to justify cheating saying it means nothing because men supposedly don't pair bond in sex. But when they want to convince women to give their partners sex on demand they say sex is how they show their love to women so they should be allowed to. So which is it? You can't have it both ways.

Discussion it feels like men don't want to solve their problems
every time women talk about their oppression, it is immediately undercut with "yeah, and the patriarchy harms men, too! let's all sit in a circle and ignore what the women were talking about so we can coddle men and ensure they don't feel like they're complicit in a misogynistic society!" it feels like a lot of these problems persist within society, almost partially to allow men who don't want to examine their own biases to excuse themselves of doing so by claiming some level of victimhood.
we have heard time and time again that "men aren't allowed to cry", "men aren't allowed to be open about their emotions", "men's abuse goes overlooked or laughed at", all of which are largely true, and worthy problems to be solved, for sure. but we see very little progress being made, and it's almost like men want to have these problems. i've been around men who will spout this stuff, and then laugh at their guy friend for experiencing sexual harassment at work because it's from a woman. i'll tell him that's incredibly fucked up and he should go to HR about it, but all the men in the room, the guy included just laughs and dismisses those thoughts as silly and frivolous.
i dunno, man. what is the point of this discourse if all they do with it is leverage it against women when they're talking about their experiences under the patriarchy? what is the point if men spend no energy combating the problem? yeah, it's gonna be hard to go against the grain. to find and forge community where you actually uplift each other instead of acting like you all have to be stoic, emotionless war machines. are you waiting for women to do it for you? because we do. and you still just laugh at the idea that you might need emotional support to begin with.
i'm choosing to post this in here because i don't think it would be received very well elsewhere. i can already see the comments from men going like "you say women are empathetic to men, yet i once opened up to a woman who mocked me for it." which like. yeah. that sucks, man. a lot of life is about knowing your worth and not being complacent with shitty treatment from others. choosing to fight against these standards will lead awful people of all demographics to think less of you. but unfortunately, that's the price you have to pay to live unapologetically. you want your emotions heard? you're gonna have to make them heard. and that'll come with backlash from people who are complacent. people who fetishize this sexual hierarchy of male dominance will hate you if you break their illusion that men are all strong stoic providers. but you have to do it. because women have tried and it's become clear that we can't force you guys to leave that baggage behind.
but yeah, surely derailing one more post from a feminist will solve the "male loneliness epidemic".

Hot Take Do not ever provide emotional support to a man, apart from your husband.
He will mistake your kindness as you wanting to be in a relationship with him, or you wanting to sleep with him.
You give an inch, they will try to take a mile.
Let them pay for therapy. Why provide free emotional support that causes you stress and nothing to gain?

are there any whimsical girls here?
thinking of an artsy/ hopecore version of our community :>
would be pretty different, a little space to share all things lively like kind quotes, arts & crafts, trinkets, collections, decor, mood boards/inspo, outfits, hobbies, anything silly. wondering if there’s an interest for this?
edit: seems to be most yes or curious so far so i’ll link a peek for the curious: [r/whimsyatelier](r/whimsyatelier)

Thought Daughter💭 Fixed my music algorithm to only play women
It took a few days of only playing my Feminine Rage playlist, but FINALLY after it goes to the end of a song or playlist, I've only gotten women so far. Maybe one or two male songs managed to sneak in the last couple of times, but the drive to work tonight was just me and whatever ladies I got to hear 💃 💃 💃
