Image Vacation as an introvert = booking a hotel just to be alone

Post image

Does anyone else do this? I’m an introvert and sometimes I genuinely enjoy taking myself on a little vacation, even if it’s just booking a nice hotel somewhere nearby.
No packed itinerary, no big group, no need to constantly socialize. Just checking into a hotel, ordering food, watching movies, reading a book, taking a long shower, enjoying the view, and having absolutely nowhere I need to be.
I actually find it relaxing to be somewhere that isn’t my usual home but still have the freedom to do absolutely nothing.
Sometimes I think the best kind of vacation for an introvert is one where you barely leave the hotel.
Do you guys ever book a hotel just to have some alone time, or am I the only one who finds this genuinely therapeutic?

I hope you don’t make it to the theater because why???? There are literally the same seats on the other side in the back and now I have to move.

Sooooo I did a thing…I just booked a trip to Denver…by myself…me…the one that has never travelled or flown by herself…me the anxiety ridden introvert lol. Is it weird…irresponsible…irrational…crazy…stupid…that lately I just have the intense urge to just take small 2-3 day trips here or there just for the hell of it? Even if it means I have to do it solo…which is terrifying lol ??? I’ve never traveled solo. I’ve never flown solo…I do have some (a lot on take off and landing) anxiety with flying 😩. But I cannot quiet this internal pull I’m feeling. I swear if I was manic depressive, I’d think maybe I was in a manic episode 🤣. I just want to go places damn it. And my girls aren’t always available. Am I crazy?? it’s like I want to prove to myself I can do it

After doing some research looking at places that meet my criteria: autumn trip, mountains close in proximity, cool temps/escape Texas heat, walkability, low cost and ease of transport from airport to lodging since I don’t want to rent a car, etc, Google suggested Denver area (top pick) since there’s a direct Aline train from airport to the condo in Union Station I would book. I found a very nice and highly recommended lodging in the LoHi area. I’d stay 3 nights. And I’d book a guided tour of the Rocky Mountains one day and maybe a shuttle to Estes park. Not sure on that yet. Is this a midlife crisis?? 🤣🤣 I’m terrified but excited but terrified!

WTH am I thinking lol

Image The biggest achievement of my life

I've always been a very introverted person. This weekend, I had the chance to showcase my clothing at a fashion show. The idea was that each designer had to walk out wearing one of their own pieces before the models came out.

I can't even describe how terrified I was. But somehow, I found the courage to do it.

People took pictures of me, and I felt incredibly exposed standing in front of so many people. But today I can honestly say I'm proud of myself.

My biggest achievement isn't that I got to present the clothes I designed. It's that, for a brief moment, I overcame my fear of being seen by everyone.

And I’ll talk out loud to myself too, I don’t even care anymore, I like my own company and I think I’m pretty hilarious.

Image My workplace just got these sleep pods - perfect for introverts

My office just introduced a new break room with private walled chairs (like little chair cubicles) and these amazing sleep pods.

I’m quite introverted and the busy office really tires my out. As fun as it is to sit with coworkers and chat at lunch break I need my time to myself during a busy day. With these pods I can read, game or nap without being disturbed.

You can even change the lighting which is a nice feature. Only downside is you need to get down early as they fill up fast

I don’t think my employer realises how unlikely I am to leave the company just for having these sleep pods alone, every company needs them for people who need an actual break instead of a tiring hour of small talk with coworkers. Should be more common.

Sorry for my English

I remember the day old boss took me in his office and asked me about my life such as friends, relationships, hobbies and others. This time I was 18 or 19yo with no aware that I’m introvert. I’d never forget how struggle I was to keep up this conversation until he sent me back to work.

I used to work there over weekends as I had college to attend. I received a letter from boss and it said that I don’t come to work for some BS reasons and wish me a best luck for my future. Honestly, I don’t react to this as I should be. Maybe I don’t care or didn’t understand my situation.

As of today, I just seen this meme from Twitter and then look back and realise. He fired me for lack of communication and didn’t talk to any colleagues from start through end of shift except I talked a bit with a colleague when we were on break and had smoking together. I also simply do what customers ask me to get the size of shirt / trousers for them— I worked at fashion store, TopMan (wasn’t it Topshop?).

Yeah I am really angry over this. That how he seen me as a creep colleague. Fuck him!

Glad I have a right job that I don’t talk a lot at all. If I have to, I can use my phone to communicate along colleagues and bosses. It’s best happened to me.

Born an introvert. Always have been and always will be. I used to feel like I was the weird and awkward person in the room but now that I'm older, I don't care anymore. I don't really even care to have friends anymore. I've tried and it's hard for me so whatever. Since graduating college, I have gotten a little less introverted but I still like being alone for the most part. Being around someone who's super extroverted is super exhausting so I try to avoid those types of people. I like my downtime after feeling overstimulated.

That's it. Just wanted to introduce myself to the introvert community. 😌
