I love that got some lead belly in the comments
Yes lead belly but it seems everyone only knows the Ram Jam cover
15
u/SpecialistAd2205 Jul 26 '26 edited Jul 26 '26
The Lead Belly version is also not the original. It's not even the earliest recorded version. The song is from the early 1900s, possibly earlier as the true origin is unknown.
Edit: The earliest known recording is from 1933 and features a man named Iron Head (had to Google because I couldn't remember).

I get smt like that but not as bad tbh I do have boarder line normal blood pressure (its on tow end tho but just enough to be ok) i think that could be a cause especially when its cold like my right pinky toe can go numb and lose circulation

u/fruitless7070 Jul 27 '26
Me either. Raynauds was not my first guess. This is pooling of blood, right? Whereas Raynauds is restricted blood flow.

Mine reacts to blood sugar more than hot/cold. But I have a lot of dermal fat retention from a comorbidity I can't get diagnosed. (I lost 60pounds and can grab my ribs, but I still haven't lost enough weight for them to bother checking for something else)
→ More replies (1)7
u/fruitless7070 Jul 27 '26
Does it happen when you're blood sugar is high?
Sorry they haven't figured it out. Keep on complaining till they figure it out.

its purple when I'm coming up on time to eat and pink after. I sometimes get breaks of being just a slightly tanned person.

Mine is pretty exclusive to cold. Typically only happens to me during winter, air conditioning doesn't seem to trigger it

It's happening during cold times ? If yes, it's related to Raynaud, I have it from my mom ... Not fun in the cold/snow đ
58
u/DrDendrite747 Jul 26 '26
Mine is classically triggered by cold, but also vibration. Like vacuuming or holding the steering wheel on a long drive will trigger it. Such an annoying condition! đĽ˛

I had a similar issue growing up where only one arm would turn purple after baseball practice. Come to find out I had a blood clot the size of a pencil in my arm. Something called Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. Granted since this happens randomly for OP and has had it checked out, Iâm sure theyâve already done an ultrasound and checked blood flow.. right?

That looks like bloodpooling. Is this a new thing or did you always have it? Does it go away when you lie down? If yes you might want to try compression socks (ask a doctor first)

Oompa Loompa doompety doo, Iâve got a tricky puzzle for you.
Oompa Loompa doompety dee, If you are wise, youâll listen to me.
What do you get when youâre picky with food,
And walk around in a terrible mood?
Swallowing seeds from a strange purple vine,
Now youâre a veggie from your waist to your spine!
How do you think you look in those pants? Youâve got no shot at the school winter dance! ---
Itâs not very clever to turn purple-skin,
Where do your legs end and veggies begin?
Half of a human and half aubergine,
The strangest monstrosity weâve ever seen!

My son gets purple! Heâs one and the doctors not worried but definitely worries momma, no other things are wrong just his skin likes to turn purple once in a while⌠so weird how the body isâŚ
2
u/New_guY6756 Jul 27 '26
You got bad circulation and itâs happening because of your anxiety. Mine turn blue and get insanely cold
2
2
u/mmmmariussss Jul 28 '26
if u see blue or purple skin all over your extremities its always a lack of oxygen rich blood in that part of the body. u seem to have a circulatory issue here. what did the doctors say abt this? does not seem normal at all, and moderately concerning if no known circulatory system issues, phone cameras can distort color alot.
2
u/N7_Rabbit Jul 28 '26
It can be connected with heart problems. Go to doctor not reddit. Unless you live in usa then do not go to doctor because you will go bankrupt.
