80s Slotta Citadel Pygmies -1980s

I've had these Citadel Pygmies sitting in a drawer for about 30 years. I don't have much interest in painting them but I'm curious as to how much they may be worth if I sold them in the UK? There is a chieftain, two blowpipe variants and a spear and shield figure.

80s Slotta A little hoard from my childhood unearthed

While cleaning out my parents attic I stumbled upon a box of my old miniatures. I was under the impression everything had been sold off or given away long ago but it seems a box survived. Spent some time today going through and organizing and trying to catalogue what remained. Essentially everything is full and complete with no missing pieces (the poor Balrog seems to have lost a horn) which is kind of staggering. Still working on the circled items. Anyways found this sub and thought some of you might appreciate these old relics.

80s Slotta THE CITADEL COMPENDIUM & CITADEL JOURNAL - GAMES WORKSHOP - 1985-1987

I didn’t really understand what all this Games Workshop stuff was about when I first started buying White Dwarf in 1987. I was 11 & my limited allowance was already going five different directions (a direction for each dollar). Luckily Games of Berkeley had these old Citadel Compendiums & Journals on sale, so I bought them & was dunked into the world of Citadel just a couple of years prior. It was amazing to see what they were presenting & how far they had come with it in just two years! My kids have really gotten into Warhammer now (it’s 40k, but they just call it Warhammer now). I can see the seeds of old Warhammer all overgrown into a new forest of little miniature trees. While i think this particular forest is overgrown & needs a cleansing fire - I also know that letting go & doing whatever I want is better. It’s hard when you can see every voice (or what looks like it) & strike out on an idiosyncratic project.. but that’s what needs to be done. Something unexpected but necessary. Something that feels as if it should have existed always - but hasn’t. x SEAN

80s Slotta Chaos Warriors for Advanced Heroquest

Post image
622 Upvotes

Finished painting up these bad boys to use in Heroquest as Chaos Warriors. I'll be painting up some Chaos Thugs and a Chaos Champion next. I wanted the Warriors to be themed around each Chaos God so from left to right its Khorne, Slaanesh, Nurgle, Tzeentch. The thugs will all be neutral, muted, metallic and I'm thinking the Champion may be a Chaos undivided type deal, or just painted to look really mean, not sure. Tips or recommendations would be appreciated.

This is a part of a larger Advanced Heroquest project where I am looking to have an oldhammer unit for every profile as well as no repeat models within that model group (so all my Skaven slave rats look different for instance).

Section 1 (blue), 2 (red), 3 (green) and 4 (black).

Could spend hours flicking through these.

Eldar were my favourites.

G’day Oldhammerers!

I’ve just called it a wrap on my entry for Olden Demon this year (haven’t had heaps of time to dedicate to it in the middle of painting a Rogue Trader Grey Knights force as well. Pics of that to come…) He’s also the first model for my future Imperial Guard force. Gotta start it with a bang.

This has got to be one of my favourite models of the era now, maybe even of all time. It just oozes character and attitude. I hope you enjoy seeing this as much as I loved painting it!

Technically a death eagle miniature by Mark Copplestone that appears to have been released in '89.

Had fun painting this as part of a commission but very tough to figure out some of the weirder details.

The next example I could find was in issue 129, around the time that the RTB15 Space Marine Strike Force box was released. Are there any earlier examples?

A trio of Citadel ADD69 Githyanki, 1B, 2B, & 3B, have dispatched an intruding adventurer in their temple. From when Games Workshop briefly held the license for AD&D miniatures.

Resin bases by Dragon Forge Design.

Grenadier fallen wizard, Citadel FS36-2 Gargoyles in the background.

Painted the one on the left way back in 2004, rebased him last year in 2025. The other two I finally got around to painting in the past few days.

Not entirely sure I've improved my NMM work in all that time, but then I did have a long long break from painting (a solid 15 years) and only started back in 2020.

"Hey, shut up for a second! Did you hear something?"

Citadel ADD04 Thief from when GW briefly held the license to produce AD&D miniatures for TSR. These were meant to represent the same player character as he grows in experience, with the order going from left to right (low, medium and high levels).

They are likely to be eaten.

I have been going through some boxes in the loft and came across these. I seem to be missing two and the poly is in poor condition as you can see from the photos. I just wondered if they are worth putting up for sale and if so where would be best and what sort of price should I be looking for? I have stripped the ones that I had painted (badly) and do have another shield currently in dettol.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Had a few of these guys as a kid, slowly building a 10 man rogue trader squad. Lead models are not 80p any more haha. The squad will be so much more haha.

I managed to find a most of them for a reasonable price or sometimes supercheap.

I like the hunt of it!

I am particulary interested in Chaos sorcerers and chaos champions.

Hopefully i get my new hobby station sorted out this summer and then I'm going to strip the painted ones and start painting a bunch.

Just wanted to share because I was sorting out some boxes and family/friends don't really share this passion.

What are you hunting or proud of?
