Open [TOMT][TV Show][2000s?] Animated series about a boy who's in love with a girl from a comic book and gets sucked into it

Looking for an animated TV show I watched as a kid, in Israel around the 2000s. It was in English.
What I remember:
The opening theme song told the backstory. The main character is a boy who's in love with a girl from a comic book he reads, and one day he gets sucked into the comic.
The animation style was similar to Angela Anaconda.

Solved [TOMT] [MOVIE] Can only remember ending - details in post

A few years ago I watched a movie where at the end, a young girl is competing in a mathematics (or maybe spelling?) contest. She's up against the typical evil rivals and you're rooting for her to win, and you assume she's going to get that Hollywood victory. But she doesn't - she loses, and it's really harsh, and then the movie ends. I remember I was furious. I think the character didn't really care.

No, it's not Mean Girls (she definitely loses), and I don't think the movie is specifically about math or spelling or whatever the contest is. It's also not Akeelah and the Bee or Bee Season or Spellbound.

I can't remember a single other thing about the plot or characters.

Solved [TOMT][Movie or show]Dorky character is very proud of having one line in a stageplay, "Excuse me, the house is on fire."

Probably a movie, maybe a TV episode.

The character had a British accent.

At opening night, he walks on stage and becomes terrified. Then he freezes and just shouts, "FIRE!" And the audience panics and runs.

Open [TOMT][Music] A band's self-titled album - cover art depicted a long blue object (ruler?) and a lime on a bare white background

• Upvotes

Title says all that I remember concretely besides the ruler part. It was some kinda long blue thing. Saw it while going through late 70s - early 80s fusion records. Below is my recreation. Scrolled through Discogs and tried reverse image searching with the recreation - nothing!

Open [TOMT] Music video of man driving off cliff

• Upvotes

Hey guys. This randomly popped in my mind. I was on holiday years ago in a restaurant eating breakfast and there was a Tv playing music and the music videos. There was one that stood out. I don’t know the song or remember what the song sounded like since it was ages ago. Anyway, the part that I remember the most is where this man gets in a car and is on their phone or something (btw the singer is definitely a girl) but yeah they drive off a cliff and die and Idk if I’m misremembering then there’s a funeral after the crash and the woman is standing in the rain but that might just be a memory but the car driving off the cliff definitely happened. And no it’s not The Stan Music video by Eminem. It happened during the day in the one I’m talking about. If anyone knows please tell me. Thank you

Open [TOMT] Trending TikTok/Instagram reels sound

• Upvotes

Hi all, this has been killing me for a while now. I remember (about 2-3 years ago- could be off tbh) I really enjoyed specific short form content with a funny trending sound in the background.

All I remember is that it was a male voice (or voices?) and I think I remember looking up the original clip and it was of a guy in a crowd.

Apologies for the lack of specifity!

Open [TOMT][BOOK][2000S]The cover had the Unicorn in Captivity tapestry on it, I remember it being yellow/ orange with the title in a text box in the middle. It was a paperback and rather thick book.

I had started to read a book as a child but never got to finish it and have been looking for it everywhere ever since. The book opens with the main character who lives in what I am assuming is medieval Europe, waking up and describes the smell of straw and their mother breastfeeding. I think the main character was a young girl. Her father had gotten his hand cut off for stealing and was a farmer I think? I remember then the main character and her family went to this festival where her father had tasked her with stealing coin purses while people were distracted with what was on stage. I remember the main character describing how she started to cut the coin purse from a knight and that she had described how she envisioned her hand being like a spider when she stole. To keep it light and to prevent people from feeling. The knight she was attempting to pickpocket notices her but does not seem to notice her stealing and takes her up on to his shoulders so she can see what is happening on stage. She describes the scene as hellish if I can remember? The main character as she is on the shoulders of the knight describes her anxiety of being caught and that the knight might feel the other coin purses she has stolen on her waist. But soon the show ends I think and she is put down and is able to run back to her family. I don't remember reading past that.

Open [TOMT] sitcom character ~2010s

I remember a sitcom from probably the 2010s in which the main family's kid had a friend who was a girl, elementary age with long light hair, who was very morose, depressing, and monotone. The mom of the main family didn't like having the little girl around because she was weird and depressing. Please help this is driving me crazy!

Open [TOMT][TV Show][decade] MTV animated show with an episode where the people drawn on traffic signs come to life

Looking for an animated show I remember being on MTV. I watched it in Israel around the 2000s.
The one thing I clearly remember is an episode where all the people drawn on traffic signs (the little figures, like the pedestrian-crossing guy) came to life.
I think the main characters were brother and sister or something like that.

Solved [TOMT] Song something with ocean/river so deep

I am looking for a song I heard probably around 5 years ago. It was in the radio, probably on FM4 or maybe Ö3? The singer is a woman with a soft, calm voice, it is also a rather calm song. I guess in the music video the singer is wearing a white dress and walking through the wood, i remember it beeing a bit blurry? And back then I wanted to learn the song, it was not so difficult on Ukulele, i guess there was even a tutorial on Youtube. The lyrics of the chorus were something like ocean or river so deep or so I think. Maybe someone has an idea, what song that could be?

Open. [TOMT][TV Series] Grounded dark drama/action series featuring an intense, emotional premature childbirth scene away from a hospital (US/UK/European)

Hi everyone! I’m trying to track down a specific TV series (likely from the US, UK, or Europe) that features a very raw, emotional, and intense childbirth scene.
Here is everything I remember about the scene and the show:
* **Genre & Tone:** It is a grounded, dark drama with elements of action or romance. *(Note: It is **strictly not** a medical drama, sci-fi, fantasy, supernatural show, or sitcom).*
* **The Scene:** A young, pregnant blonde woman goes into premature labor. There is heavy bleeding, and she is in excruciating pain, crying out in agony.
* **The Characters:** Her young boyfriend/partner is right there with her. Since they have no medical help, he holds her close, trying to comfort her, keep her calm, and help her endure the physical trauma.
* **The Setting:** They are nowhere near a hospital—completely cut off from professional medical care (possibly in a safehouse, a regular room, or an isolated location).

I have already ruled out most of the obvious mainstream hits, so there is a good chance this is from a lesser-known, indie, or European series.

Even if you aren't 100% sure, please feel free to drop any series that has a scene matching this vibe! Any leads or suggestions are deeply appreciated.

Open [TOMT] Computer Gaming World article about Russians in gaming

• Upvotes

I remember a Computer Gaming World article about Russians in gaming. It was either the late late 90s or early 2000s. It might also have been a PC Gamer article and though I never had a subscription to that rag, only CGW, I did end up buying a few of them back in the day

I think the title of the article went something like "It's comrade, not commie!" and the article itself was how Russian gaming studios were joining the video gaming scene in the years after the collapse of the Soviet Union and went over a few choice games from those studios including a WWII aerial combat game and how the West should help embrace these studios to help stabilize the gaming industry in Russia.

I'd really like to get a copy of whatever issue it ends up being because it ended up helping me make a Russian friend later in life but for the life of me I can't find what issue it was in or a copy of the article online.

Any one know where it's from?

Open [TOMT] Short film about a trumpet player who plays in a storm

• Upvotes

There's this really good short film I remember seeing a few years back (maybe like 8-12 minutes long). It's animated and there's no dialogue. It's about this trumpet player who didn't want to play his trumpet for some reason, but at the end he finally decides to pick it up again, goes to the top of a lighthouse in the middle of a storm so the whole town can hear, then gets struck by lightning and dies. I think the director was European but not sure what country... Long shot I know because it's super niche but anyone know what I'm talking about?

Open [TOMT] [YouTube] Horror anthology channel from circa the 2010s

• Upvotes

I never finished the miniseries and I'm not sure if it was actually a miniseries or not. All I remember is it was short episodes or films and each had a different story but they all interweaved and connected.

One episode was about a guy whose mother? I think? Was confined to a wheelchair and it turned out it was because she was actually an inhuman creature that fed on people to survive.

Another episode was about a girl who lived in a large house in the woods with a porch overlooking trees from very far up. Her mom was dead and her dad was sinister in some way.

There was an episode with a sleepover?

The last episode I remember watching, the girl returned and she was part of a lesbian couple involved in an alien abduction at a cheap motel. One of them was on the run and the other kept begging her to come back because her mother loved her as much as her own daughter. So I'm pretty sure it was the girl from the house and she couldn't settle down because of why she ran.

It was all framed as lost tapes or something. That you had found them and was watching them.

Open [TOMT] [MOVIE] [2000s?] Movie with a girl sitting on a floor in a dress, back turned to the camera, jumpscare

• Upvotes

Trying to remember a movie that I saw as a kid where the camera pans closer to a girl either crying or just sitting on the floor in the center of a BLANK room, facing the other way.

There was either gentle music playing or NO music playing, I can't remember. But there was a loud noise and scream when she turned to the camera rapidly. Any help is appreciated

Solved [TOMT]{MOVIE] Psychic hero (woman?) unleashes pain and suffering caused by the villain into the villain's mind and the heroes win.

The villain has caused devastation for years, and the hero (possibly a woman, not sure) has stored it up and been traumatized by it, and she uses her powers to dump it into the villain's mind. He doesn't die, but I think becomes catatonic? I also think there's an ensemble, like Guardians of the Galaxy or the Avengers.

Open [TOMT][Movie or Show] TV commercial with reptilian/lizard aliens talking to the camera about bad video games

• Upvotes

I’m trying to remember a TV Commercial from the 2000s (probably somewhere around 2000–2010).

I think it resembled a gamefly commercial. I believe one of the aliens got shot. The animation style sort of resembled Turok.

Thanks for helping me scratch this itch!

Open [TOMT] Image of a somewhat small tree overrun by a vining plant (likely an ivy) reaching out only towards a nearby tall object

• Upvotes

I remember seeing this image somewhere. it's i believe in a parking lot or something similar, you can see the curb as the point of interest is on a curb island, but not in the street. There is seemingly a tree, possibly 10-15 feet in height (could be wrong), that is entirely overrun by vines. the trunk is covered and the canopy is also mostly vine, and the canopy shape is a sphere or something more spherical.( think oak tree) a few feet away from the tree is some sort of post or posts, possibly one of the common saplings that are set up with the two wooden poles and elastic bands of some sort to support it that you find often around sidewalks. notably, the vines within the canopy are only reaching out on the side with the tall object, and are all pointing to it, as if they somehow have eyes and can see that there is a supporting structure there. It may have been on r/interestingasfuck, but I don't remember. does anyone have the image or know the original post?

Open [TOMT] Trying to recall the name of a unique tape

• Upvotes

Hey, I'm not sure where to ask this. I used to have this roll of 'tape' that I had found/learned about/ordered from some magazine or catalog (yes, I am old). Probably from that scientific surplus catalog.

Anyway, the name was in the format of [NAME]'s [ADJECTIVE] tape. Like, Mike's Incredible Tape or something like that (but not that, obviously). What it was was a rolled up kind of clear solid gel(?). It stuck from pressure being applied to it, which made it easy to remove, but really sturdy. Easy to remove, but some of the older cases did take paint with it.

I could really use some of that stuff now (had it for so long). Not necessarily that brand, but that kind of tape

Open [TOMT] [GAME] [201-]

• Upvotes

A game I used to play on the website flonga during the time period I said it in, but it could be older, but I do believe it’s around 2010+ and definitely before 2020 you played as a king and had to destroy a castle, you could mine a gold pile to make this easier.
