Solved [TOMT][Movie or show]Dorky character is very proud of having one line in a stageplay, "Excuse me, the house is on fire."

Probably a movie, maybe a TV episode.

The character had a British accent.

At opening night, he walks on stage and becomes terrified. Then he freezes and just shouts, "FIRE!" And the audience panics and runs.

Solved [TOMT] Song something with ocean/river so deep

I am looking for a song I heard probably around 5 years ago. It was in the radio, probably on FM4 or maybe Ö3? The singer is a woman with a soft, calm voice, it is also a rather calm song. I guess in the music video the singer is wearing a white dress and walking through the wood, i remember it beeing a bit blurry? And back then I wanted to learn the song, it was not so difficult on Ukulele, i guess there was even a tutorial on Youtube. The lyrics of the chorus were something like ocean or river so deep or so I think. Maybe someone has an idea, what song that could be?

Open [TOMT] [Movie] 80s/90s TV movie on Lifetime/LMN. Family barbecue, then father found murdered

• Upvotes

I saw the start of this on Lifetime or LMN in the late 90s or early 2000s, probably in the early afternoon. It opens with a happy family barbecue, possibly Fourth of July, at a two-story suburban house with a pool. The kids are teens or young adults, some home from college. The father stays behind, maybe because of a work call, while the rest of the family goes out, possibly to see fireworks. When they get back, police are at the house and the father has been murdered, by shooting or stabbing, and there may have been a fire. The killer isn't shown. I never saw the rest, so I don't know if it was fiction or a true story.

Solved [TOMT]{MOVIE] Psychic hero (woman?) unleashes pain and suffering caused by the villain into the villain's mind and the heroes win.

The villain has caused devastation for years, and the hero (possibly a woman, not sure) has stored it up and been traumatized by it, and she uses her powers to dump it into the villain's mind. He doesn't die, but I think becomes catatonic? I also think there's an ensemble, like Guardians of the Galaxy or the Avengers.

Solved [TOMT] Book about a kid in hell, used the word Cnut a lot

Hello Reddit.

I remember reading a book when I was a young teen in about 2002, about a kid who was sent to hell and befriended demons or devils or something.

The big thing that I remember is that they would use the term “Cnut” or “knut” a lot, which I guess was because it was a YA book and they couldn’t use the proper word.

I got it from a Uk bookstore, and I think the cover and Tan/orange.

Any help would be really appreciated as it has bothered me for years that I can’t remember the name of this book.

Open. [TOMT][TV Series] Grounded dark drama/action series featuring an intense, emotional premature childbirth scene away from a hospital (US/UK/European)

Hi everyone! I’m trying to track down a specific TV series (likely from the US, UK, or Europe) that features a very raw, emotional, and intense childbirth scene.
Here is everything I remember about the scene and the show:
* **Genre & Tone:** It is a grounded, dark drama with elements of action or romance. *(Note: It is **strictly not** a medical drama, sci-fi, fantasy, supernatural show, or sitcom).*
* **The Scene:** A young, pregnant blonde woman goes into premature labor. There is heavy bleeding, and she is in excruciating pain, crying out in agony.
* **The Characters:** Her young boyfriend/partner is right there with her. Since they have no medical help, he holds her close, trying to comfort her, keep her calm, and help her endure the physical trauma.
* **The Setting:** They are nowhere near a hospital—completely cut off from professional medical care (possibly in a safehouse, a regular room, or an isolated location).

I have already ruled out most of the obvious mainstream hits, so there is a good chance this is from a lesser-known, indie, or European series.

Even if you aren't 100% sure, please feel free to drop any series that has a scene matching this vibe! Any leads or suggestions are deeply appreciated.

Open [TOMT][SONG][2020's] Instrumental song metal/electro with journalist in the lyrics

• Upvotes

Hello everyone, hope you’re all doing well.

I’m looking for a song that used to be in my Spotify playlists a couple of years ago (I’m not sure exactly when, but it shouldn’t be more than 5-6 years ago), and that I can no longer find.
It’s mostly an instrumental metal song, with some electro vibes from what I can recall. What makes it special is that there’s a journalist/reporter talking during the breaks, as if he were reporting some kind of news story.
If it helps, I vaguely remember the album cover or the artist’s profile picture being bluish, with a circle or an arc on it.
I’ve already dug through my Spotify/YouTube history without success, and I guess it must be from a small band if it disappeared from the platform.

Any help would be appreciated!

Solved [TOMT] [MOVIE] Can only remember ending - details in post

• Upvotes

A few years ago I watched a movie where at the end, a young girl is competing in a mathematics (or maybe spelling?) contest. She's up against the typical evil rivals and you're rooting for her to win, and you assume she's going to get that Hollywood victory. But she doesn't - she loses, and it's really harsh, and then the movie ends. I remember I was furious. I think the character didn't really care.

No, it's not Mean Girls (she definitely loses), and I don't think the movie is specifically about math or spelling or whatever the contest is. It's also not Akeelah and the Bee or Bee Season or Spellbound.

I can't remember a single other thing about the plot or characters.

Open [TOMT][Cartoon Episode][1990s][2000s] Animal that is walking on 2 legs singing "No volvere a casa/I won't go home"

I remember this on Spanish, but I'm pretty sure it aired on English too. The animal is a cartoon of a bear or a dog or perhaps a different specie, that I think escaped from the zoo? ( this part im not sure ).
He is happily singing "No volvere a casa, no, no no" which roughly translates to "I won't go home, or I ain't going home, nope, nope, nope"

The cartoon style is like a major network, like cartoon network or nickelodeon.

I've tried searching it, but I only get results where a cartoon is sad, or where the "I'm not going home" its a statement. It's not a musical either, he just sings this part. and I think its 1 single episode, and not like a movie.

Solved [TOMT] [YouTube Channel] From 2018-2019, basically a high school girl’s vlog, got popular very quickly

I found this YouTube channel in 2018 or 2019, right after it blew up in popularity. It was basically just vlogs of a high school student (maybe she was a freshman in college). She had brown hair and big round glasses. I believe she was Portuguese-American or Brazilian-American.

When I found the channel, there were still only a handful of videos but she got very popular, very quickly so she had a lot of views. I think she got so popular because she was just a regular girl, not much like an “influencer” type and her videos were just regular slice of life stuff.

Open [TOMT] [POSTER] [POEM] 1990s US elementary times tables poster with pink cartoon pigs shaped like the number 8, falling in mud (8 x 4 = 32)

I’m trying to find a classroom poster and rhyme used to teach times tables in the US around 1998-1999. I remember it as a mnemonic for 4 x 8 = 32.

What I remember about the poster:

  • Cartoon style
  • Pigs drawn in the shape of the number 8, so each pig was an 8
  • Pink pigs, a brown mud pen, and a fence around the mud
  • The whole thing looked fairly dark and muted in my memory (dark pigs, dark mud, dark fence)

The poem (from memory, not exact):
“2 pigs were playing in the mud when 2 more came along. The 2 new pigs fell in the mud and said, ‘Oh no, now we’re dirty too!’”

I’m sure it ended with “dirty too,” which rhymes with thirty-two.

I created a mock-up of the poster that I was hoping to share, but I can't seem to be able to add an image.

Open [TOMT][Webcomic][2006] A parody Frank Miller's 300 emphasizing its escalating absurdity

It was in the format of a Spartan narrating his account of the battle dragging on and all the wild stuff Xerxes was sending at them, and what I mainly remember is the last panel punchline being to the effect of "and then things just got weird..." and it's like robots and dinosaurs and other such random goofy junk showing up on the battlefield.

It was an online comic in the realm of Penny Arcade or Awkward Zombie, but searching those is coming up dry.

Obviously around or a bit after 2006 when the movie released and it was hot in pop culture.

Open. [TOMT][MOVIE] US time travel movie (maybe set in LA): lanky, awkward guy with glasses sees his past or future self from a distance

Looking for a movie from roughly 1997 to 2005, set in the US, possibly LA. Main character is a lanky white guy with glasses and kind of awkward hair...Napoleon Dynamite-ish vibe, though I'm not sure it's actually him. He's a teenager or early twenties, has some kind of dead-end job or rough situation. There's a time travel element, and at some point he sees himself from a distance...like spotting his past or future self across a street or in a crowd. Quirky, low-budget feel. Not Primer, not 12:01, not Safety Not Guaranteed, not Hot Tub Time Machine, not Timecrimes. Any ideas?

Open [TOMT](Book) trying to find a dark teen book inspired by Alice in Wonderland

• Upvotes

I remember reading it in high-school about a girl that went to a regular school could see monsters/demons from wonderland, there was slightly explicit romance with a male character, and she had a friend who's name was Kat. It was kind of similar in tone to the mortal instruments. And I believe the second books title was something to do with looking glass

Open [TOMT][SONG] Male indie folk song, "lay my ___ down… any…more, any mooore

Looking for an indie folk / alt-country song with a male singer who has a raw, aching, weepy voice. It sounds a bit like Mumford & Sons, maybe with a slight rock or spiritual feel, but it isn't them. The part I'm sure of is a drawn-out "any…more, any mooore". Just before it there's a line something like "I lay my ___ down" or "can't lay these ___ down", where the missing word is two syllables. I've tried Shazam and Google humming with no luck. Similar artists I listen to: The Tallest Man On Earth, Keaton Henson, Langhorne Slim, The Avett Brothers.

Open [TOMT]Looking for name of movie about a young adult/teen who befriends her old teacher as his health declines

Here’s what I have, it’s not my first mister, the tone is a light drama maybe some comedic moments. it’s set in America, i saw the movie in the UK, and it may have been on the Disney channel or might just have been on a movie channel.

I remember two scenes, the first scene being in a shopping mall, the girl who would be at least seventeen at a guess, walks by her old teacher, who i suspect taught English. The two don’t get along well, perhaps he sees her as someone who didn’t try hard enough?

The second scene I remember is he ends up in a nursing home after falling ill, she visits him frequently, and she grows to love literature because of him. I suspect it could be poetry, and I recall she cries in one of the scenes they have in the home, which was out of character for her.

There’s no romantic feelings between the two whatsoever, i believe he passes away by the end, and that’s all i have. I’ve been trying to find this movie for the last two years, if you could please avoid suggesting any movie without a female protagonist and their male teacher that would be appreciated, in the past I got a bunch of suggestions which didn’t fit that description.

Solved [TOMT] [YOUTUBE VIDEO] fictional guide for weird red - tendril organism thing???

• Upvotes

cant find this video no matter how much i search… it was an informational guide style video surrounding a fictional , SCP - like creature as if it were a very normal piece of earthly phenomena . it described the creature , its tendencies , and how to catch ( and maybe get rid of ?? ) it .

the creature was red in color and tended to live and grow on the underside of mattresses . i remember there was a point made where the narrator suggested checking under bedsheets ( or something like that ) since they frequently reached onto the upper side to eat flakes of dead skin that would come off of a person while they slept . the creature had a body similar to vein or root structures , but i think there must have also been a central mass as the body .

it was shot very realistically ( not sure if blender was used or anything ) and the overall tone was quite calm .

Open [TOMT][SONG][2000s/2010s] A dubstep / chillstep nostalgic and malinconic song.

• Upvotes

Hello, i'm looking for a song i heard recently on tiktok / instagram.
The song was kind of slow and had this rather nostalgic vibe.
Dubstep or chillstep with a male voice (slightly compressed) cut and looped.
I found this song that slightly reminds me of what i'm looking for https://youtu.be/xzNSpWI_N64 .
The song i'm looking for might have had a piano base.
I think the song might be used a lot in the types of videos "Weird aesthetic : internet in the 2000s/2010s".
I think the song wasn't really famouse, probably pretty related to the internet community of AMVs and early gacha.

Open [TOMT][YOUTUBE SHORTS][2025-2026] Parody series, POV meme of meeting a high school movie character. "My name is ___, ___ _____."

I remember seeing a series of shorts a while back which were a hilarious parody of high school characters in anime/movies. It was one guy who would always introduce himself as the same ridiculous name, which I unfortunately forgot, but was in the format of „I’m first name, first name last name.“ I think the audio might be sped up a little bit in a lot of them.

Details from the couple of skits I remember:
He sits on top of a row of lockers, and the POV guy asks what he’s doing up there. He hops down says he gets bullied, and introduces himself. Then he tells the camera "I like you" and to meet him after school at a specific spot, I think the roof. He adds something like "don't be late."

In another short he climbs out of a locker and runs essentially the same bit.

I remember laughing so hard at these and can‘t find them for the life of me. Thanks to anyone who tries!

Open [TOMT](Reddit thread) post where guy gets fed up with people parking in his driveway so he tows them

• Upvotes

It was either a [level] revenge or AITA post. The guy in the post lives near a large event venue and people regularly parked up and down his street including driveways (which people would charge for). He didn’t want people parking on the driveway and at first I don’t think he was able to tow but he found some weird work around after talking to a lawyer where he put up multiple signs in clear view that parking there you agreed to pay an absurd amount of money or be towed. No one took the sign seriously people got towed and people got mad. One person tries to take him to court but the judge sides with him.

Ive tried looking for this but towing people who park in your driveway seems to be a common situation. Any help is appreciated.
