Hi im sorry if I do anything wrong im new to reddit but I remember watching an iceberg 1-3 years ago (not sure when the iceberg actually came out)and there was an entry of a man with a ukulele/guitar singing about his near death experience and how he is no longer scared to die. Please help me find the name of this show. There’s one episode that has a quirky spooky vibe to it, and I remember it being silly. The opening of the episode has a strange old man talking about odd strange things in front of a brick wall (maybe an alleyway and there might’ve been a tv behind him?) the episode ends with him wrapping it up and he gets arrested?

It’s been bugging me for a few days now and I’ve googled everything possible. It’s definitely a show from 2000’s-2010’s and I think the man vaguely looked like Barry Bostwick (again I got no leads with that)

I can't recall what song it is from the 2010's, but I do recall the image used for that song I heard from Cow of the Wild I think is where I heard it.

It was a man wearing white suit (Japanese I think?) wielding a sword in front of his face with I guess sakura flowers flowing across the air with red and black background behind him and light behind him.

It was a Horror movie that scarred me for a long time because i catched a glimpse of it when my parents watched it. So from what i remember:

Industrial setting, Music blasting bunch of people around one guy getting tattoed then suddenly his head gets cut off rolls for a bit and his cut off head looks around but only with its eyes then everyone freaks out and i guess a bloodbath follows everyone there getting killed off.

Thats all i can remember for yeary i have been searching many times i asked AI but to no success obviously.

I don't remember most of the details, I only caught the latter part of this anime but it stuck with me. Pretty sure it was a film, and only vaguely remember a few scenes. I remember there's some bad guys, who are trying to resurrect some kind of demon, for some reason I remember it being referred to as a dragon? And there's this young girl they kinda need to become the dragon's heart. The main characters rescue her, and bring her home where she'll be "safe" and put her to sleep to recover, but while she's sleeping and everyone else has left, we see her slowly sink into the futon, until she vanishes.

Then I remember some later scene, where the main characters are on their way to rescue her, driving some kinda vehicle/machine through a dark tunnel (?) and now and then the scene cuts to the girl, who is shown melting into the beast. It starts with her limbs, but eventually her whole body is melting into it, and her whole body starts beating like a heart, as you see her facial features start to melt.

That's about all I remember. I caught it on TV I'd say late in the 90s, and the animation style and quality felt like late 80s/early 90s.

For all my Latino and Latina listeners I first heard this song roughly late 2000s-early 2010s at a party and I thought it was incredibly catchy and I haven’t been able to get it out of my head. It was a reggaeton like song very upbeat with a mix of English and Spanish for the chorus. It started off with the person asking “do you want to get-get -get do you want to get high?” And for whatever reason it had a distinct Mario level up sound effect randomly in the middle of the song. Looking for an older anime movie. I found a clip of it as one of the TV clips in Project Silverfish: V1-0002_Batch_05_00000375. The scene starts in space looking at an asteroid with rocky extrusions. Then, a streak of golden light shoots out of the asteroid. It flies through space for a moment before landing on a red planet. The planet is volcanic but the arrival of the golden light brings rain to the planet which turns the lava flows to water. The golden light slams down onto a mountain with a big, shimmering explosion before turning into the rock statue of a bird. I think maybe the bird is meant to be a phoenix but I don't know for sure. The protagonists have to find the bird statue and for some reasons it becomes a large mech robot.

I remember when I was younger, I watched a TV documentary that was uploaded in its entirety on YouTube about Spinosaurus where they rather hilariously made it seem like this unstoppable Kaiju. I remember it tossing a smaller theropod like a ragdoll and they had this mechanical recreation of a Spinosaurus Arm that they used to destroy a car door and a ballistic dummy

I feel like I'm going crazy, I swear I remember watching this at some point when I was younger, but no matter how I phrase it while Googling, I can't seem to find it. I've been trying to find this dark fantasy movie or miniseries for years and it's driving me crazy. I watched it dubbed on television around the late 2000s or early 2010s, but the production didn't feel like a big Hollywood movie. it definitely had that slightly raw, obscure European indie/TV movie feel to it. I was pretty young when I saw it, so it felt really long (though it might have been split into parts). I think it had a similar vibe to the labyrinth or the 10th kingdom.

Here is everything I remember about the plot: It starts out in a gritty, dark forest village or woods where a normal-looking traveler shows up. To the viewer, he gives off a slightly creepy vibe. Because the main family is extremely poor, the mother insists on letting him take and marry her 16-or-something-year-old daughter. The girl has fair skin, long dark hair, and wears normal peasant clothes. I also remember there’s no father in the family and this girl has 6 or something little siblings.

Now this is getting a little less chronological because it’s so vivid in my head but basically the husband takes her back to his massive, bizarre house. It's filled with weird, mischievous entities and inhabitants who are secretly working on his side to keep her trapped and stop her from escaping.

She ends up having a secret lover at some point who is her age who seems to be glowing or subtly supernatural. Maybe a far of some sort. To meet him, she has to fall asleep to enter this glowing dream-limbo state where they meet at a waterfall and drink water from each other's hands (or something like that) But the mischievous entities in the house keep sabotaging her by releasing something into the air, like a smoke, spell, or gas, so she can't fall asleep, while her lover is waiting for her and she can't reach him.

At some point, she somehow escapes and goes back home to her family, and either through a time-dilation or a psychological illusion set up by the house to make her guilty and wallow in regret, she finds that her younger siblings have all grown old and withered away while she stayed her age. And I think they keep asking her reasons why and how could she leave them.

Anyway, if any of this sounds familiar please let me know. I know for sure I didn’t dream this up because i watched it multiple times and remembered some details as i was writing this. Unfortunately it was dubbed so I don’t even know which language it was.

Sometime in the last 15 years, I heard or read a quote that went something like this: the difference between literary fiction and fantasy fiction is that in literature, a protagonist's encounter with the world changes the protagonist, while in fantasy, a protagonist's encounter with the world changes the world. I'm pretty sure I didn't come up with this distinction myself, but for the life of me, I can't find who else said something like this.

I originally thought this was something the TTRPG writer/designer Matt Colville said, but when I looked through his catalog, I discovered that his take on "Fantasy vs Fiction" was pretty different, based instead on Stephen R. Donaldson's taxonomy (in which in fantasy, the setting reflects the inner struggles of the protagonist; whereas in literary fiction, the setting exists independent of the protagonist).

I can't remember much of it but I recalled seeing this manga in my high school library. I remember the first chapter vividly as a wealthy family out at sea gets attacked by pirates. The daughter of the wealthy family is a bit of a tomboy and tries to challenge the captain. Impressed by her bravado, he offers the girl to join his crew where she agrees to, leaving her family behind. A time skip happens where the girl is fully committed to the pirate crew and something happens to the captian I believe. I'm not entirely sure if the manga was created by a big or small publisher, but I know it was around 2009-2010 when I saw it the last time. I think earlier than that.

This album appeared on my Spotify awhile ago that is in the genre of like music you play at a hotel pool almost. I believe it's a classic Japanese artist, and the album is just a guy from the back looking out at what I think is the sea. He's wearing a white shirt. It's very airy, summery sort of music.

I've gone down the rabbit holes of ambient pop and city pop, looking at Kingo Hamada, Masayoshi Takanaka, none of them are it. If I were to compare I'd say Masayoshi Takanaka is probably the closest to my memory of the music.
