Matrix Headlights
Why doesn’t Tesla do this with their Matrix Headlights? Seems like this can be done with a software update. Pretty cool!
Edit: I think some people are missing the point on this video. Your low beams light up the entire road. What you’re seeing in the video is the high beams lighting up a section of road in front of the car. Then when you change lanes those high beams shift to that lane so you can see better.

Coming Soon to the Tesla Roadster
I’m simply amazed at the Tesla demo and the engineering marvel of the folks who developed the new Roadster.
Of course, this new flying technology will likely require analysis of an entirely new dataset of user experiences. 🤣😂

Would love to see this car fly off of a cliff and land itself.
I imagine this type of technology saving lives in these circumstances

OMG 14 lite installing on legacy HW3 model S!!!
It’s happening!
My car is a late 2018 S P100DL, originally shipped with HW2.5 & purchased FSD, but upgraded to HW3 (for free) several years ago.
I will take a test drive after it finishes and update in the comments

My Tesla May Have Prevented an Accident Today — But My Wife Wasn’t Impressed!
Something pretty remarkable happened today while my wife and I were driving home.
We were traveling on a four-lane road, two lanes in each direction. I was in the right lane when a car came flying up behind us, weaving in and out of traffic, obviously in a big hurry to get somewhere.
As the driver attempted to pass us, something extraordinary happened.
My Tesla suddenly moved to the right, apparently recognizing a potential collision and taking evasive action before I even had time to react.
It happened in a split second.
Now, here’s where the story gets interesting.
While I’m sitting there thinking, “Wow! Did my Tesla just prevent an accident?” my wife is practically coming out of her seat!
“WHY DIDN’T YOU TAKE CONTROL OF THE WHEEL?! YOU ALMOST HIT THE CURB!”
Meanwhile, I’m trying to explain that the car appeared to have handled the situation perfectly. We weren’t even close to the curb. By my estimate, we still had five to ten feet of clearance.
But my wife wasn’t interested in hearing about Tesla’s advanced safety technology. She was convinced we’d nearly had TWO accidents — one with the reckless driver and another with the curb! 😂

Not even a full week yet and Model S is in the shop…
This 2021 Model S was extremely generous gift from family friends for a major life milestone and 6 days later it had to go to the shop. 🫠
I got a notification about the 12v battery not being changed in 5 years and had an appointment for Tuesday but guess the car said “We ain’t waiting!” And decided it wasn’t moving from the charger.
The bright sides: Tesla roadside was amazing, quick and very helpful. Also the issues as covered under warranty with Tesla itself they said and whatever isn’t we got the full extra warranty too but it’s just funny to think not even a full week of enjoyment before this happened. 🤷♀️
I still love the car
Update: Tesla says it’s also the main big battery 🪫 🥲 but that’s covered too just stuck without the car for 2-3 weeks

Wild Roadster 2 theory
Alot of people are scratching their heads about what market the Roadster 2 is for. The obvious one is ultra high end supercar/hypercar/halo car for the filthy rich. I have a theory for another one.
The collaboration between Tesla and SpaceX has been well advertised. Wow factor aside, there's not much practical use for air nozzles on cars. On Earth, at least. However they would be very useful on a lunar rover. The moon's weak gravity requires much less thrust to hover and even achieve low orbit. The Roadster (Rovester?) could launch astronauts to an orbiting command module which would take the astronauts back to Earth.
What's your wager that the Roadster 2 will be adapted for use as a lunar or Martian rover?
Edit: some replies assume using this exact Roadster design as a rover. Obviously it's not suitable as-is for that, but the platform could be adapted with larger wheels, higher ground clearance, and more interior space. Astronauts will need a way to leave the surface to return to Earth.
Edit 2: it may be more than just coincidence that they made a big deal about putting "Starman" into the Roadster 2. Might be a subtle hint of their plan to send it to space.

When people cannot match your progress or compete with your vision, their only remaining defense is to devalue your success.
Words can't even describe how proud I am of Elon and the teams at SpaceX and Tesla. 😭
You’re not cool for acting unimpressed. It’s totally cool to be excited about something extraordinary!

PSA for couples with big height difference
I’m 6’2 and my wife is 5’. We have our own driver profiles set on our model Y, with easy entry as well. For some reason, the car prefers her phone over mine if I have both in the pocket.
Yesterday, I had both phones in the pocket, got in, and immediately tried to drive away before the seat fully adjusted. To my horror, the car was trying to crush me while driving. Luckily, I noticed the wrong name on the display, and managed to hit the correct profile before anything serious happened.
It’s funny in retrospect, but I got genuinely scared in the moment. So, if you share your car with a short partner, you may wanna mind the keys.

Cleaner Charging
M3 owner since 2018. Engineer by trade.
I wrote a free, ad-less app (i make $0 from it) that reduces local power emissions by charging your car when the grid is in less-demand. www.cleancrib.org; plugs directly into the official Tesla app. Prioritizes your schedule.
You can also find gas plants that may be near you here. There are ~2-3M Teslas on the road. If we all use this, we can make a (super convenient) dent in emissions.
This is easier than installing LED light bulbs, and costs nothing. Probably saves money as well, but it's optimized for pollution.
