Discussion Win cutscenes

• Upvotes

Just a small idea, but it would be really dope if the first time you got a win with a character you could see a cutscene of their wish fulfilled. I think it would be very cool to see each non cannon "ending" for characters.

Question How do I fix my refresh rate if its on fullscreen

• Upvotes

I accidentally misclicked a resolution setting and picked 120 instead of 60. I just clean reinstalled the game, deleted the files and everything and its still stuck on 120hz. So...I just cant play deadlock anymore?

I play vanilla. It also isn't generating a video txt file anymore. Alt Enter doesnt work because it has never worked.

Question How do you overcome a big soul gap?

• Upvotes

I started playing Deadlock about a month ago, and as I’ve been grinding Standard to unlock Ranked, I’ve run into the same scenario plenty of times:

One lane gets completely run down and throws the soul balance out of whack. Even if I do well in my own lane, as the match goes on, the snowball continues, and we’re screwed as a team because their carry, who has scaled to the moon, can now take any fight they want.

I try to farm to close the gap, but we end up giving up walkers while I’m trying to scale. If I try to defend the walkers, I just get pushed all the way back by stronger enemies.

What should I be doing in these situations to give my team the best chance of making a comeback?

Game Feedback Rift should visually show how much resists you gain from being behind

• Upvotes

I've been playing standard ever since I came back thanks to the City Never Sleeps update to get a few heroes up into ranked (Drifter and Yamato primarily) and to try out the new heroes. One thing I've noticed in all of my losing games is that people never contest rift when behind. This is even with an ult advantage, a lane state and positional advantage, a numbers advantage, fresh buys, etc. It's like people think that being behind = rift is insta-lost when more often than not it's our only way back into the game.

I think a big reason for this is the influx of new players and returning players not even knowing that Rift gives resists when behind on souls, or that it even caps way faster when behind. I don't ever recall them explicitly explaining rift mechanics since the new update dropped, and having these VERY important mechanics actually shown in game would help at least inform those who don't know that these DO exist and that these ARE options to contest when behind.

Question How to actually carry

• Upvotes

I’m newer and started because I was really interest in baba, but then I discovered silver and my got she’s so damn fun. The problem is I feel like I fall off like a bag of bricks when I play as her. Even games when I play with my friends or just get another aggro laner and we dominate lane and mid game I feel so useless once endgame hits. I play a lot of other MOBAs so I know how to play tank but silver, even when I build plenty of green, feels like she still can’t tank until wolf form.

Bug Learning the report system

• Upvotes

I created a bot that says "XD" after every kill. I used it for one game and that was the only chats messaged through this account and got a 1 week ban. I think I went 12/4 or so. I am thinking the new system is too strict on reports or its getting the Dota effect where reports are placed every game. I will keep you guys informed on my studies on my next few tries/accounts.

Question What was it like playing deadlock for the first time

• Upvotes

I had deadlock in my steam for a while now and messed around in the sandbox area, but never actually played my first match, as I'm kinda afraid if I messed up and people would talk down on me for being shit at the game, so I wanted to know everyone's experience on their first go at actually playing the game

Discussion Baba's stomp should drag down airborne enemies

• Upvotes

It feels like this should be a natural part of her kit. It would be a lot of fun to charge up a jump, leap up to the enemy flyer, and stomp them downwards similar to a lash slam or ivy stone form.

I know she's already very powerful, but I honestly don't think this would impact her power that much. And she's a bird lady, the sky is her domain anyways.

Discussion How would you feel about an Abathur like in deadlock?

• Upvotes

While deadlock is willing to experiment with bizzare concepts as seen with Solomon and Rem where Solomon plays nothing like a normal hero and rem has a whole different macro they are still mostly following the rules of the game ya know.

Abathur tho, thats a concept not see outside of 1 game and is one frankly insane as its cool. It would break any concept we tought was a solid truth in deadlock's rules BUT it would be so fucking cool.

First issue you encounter would be the fact deadlock heroes are so much faster then heroes of the storm ones so you can't just leave your body behind, I mean yeah talon does if for 5 seconds but abathur spends most of his time outside of his body, would you have to make him sit in base and just use the summon and parasite parts of him? Also he has the whole reinforcment tower gimmick which would be again a new mechanic.

All these are a real issue that sound like a nightmare to design BUT it would be so fucking cool. Please yoshi steal from heroes of the storm, nobody would give a shit

Question I cannot make Silver work for the life of me

• Upvotes

Hi, I'm relatively new to the game, only have about 40 hours in. I've gravitated to characters that I think have cool designs like Paradox, Geist, Vindicta, and Silver. For the first three I have mentioned I think i've been able to curate pretty sucessful builds which so far have given me substantially more wins then losses with each of them, I understand how they play and their roles on a team and have been able to get a good amount of MVP's. When it comes to Silver however I dont think i've been able to win more then 2 games in a row without atleast more then 6 losses in between. From my experience she serves zero purpose on a team and I just feel useless playing her.

In a game where so many characters can burst you from very far away, have insane mobility or movement, with a very wide open map how the hell does silver even compete. Her range is pitiful, her mobility sucks with only 2 stamina, 2 of her skills cant be used on minions and require her to be close range with no AOE's to speak of, with bola being her only long ranged option which is frankly pitiful and is pretty hard to hit for not that much reward. And her main appeal which should be the Werewolf ult falls off pretty quickly mid-late game where everyone is just running around in a deathball. By the time I get it to proc (if I even get it to proc before being bursted down) I am already most likely below a 1/3 of my HP at which point I just need to use it to run away and serve 0 purpose to my team aside from just serving as a cooldown sponge.

I'll post an image of my build if anyone wants to give any advice, maybe it's just dogwater and I am not aware.

I love Silver and would love to play her more but right now I'll just take her off my rotation because every game with her has been nothing short of underwhelming. Any help would be apprecciated.

This could be totally off and correct me if it is. But I feel like this is a pretty accurate read of the game.

Question Any notable Eternus players from a MOBA background?

• Upvotes

I've read a comment that stated that all the top Eternus players have shooter backgrounds rather than Moba backgrounds since the "moba" aspects of this game is easy to solve vs the crazy amount of time you need to build aim skills. Are there any Eternus players who came from other MOBAS rather than shooters?

Video Funny interaction

• Upvotes

I know it's known interaction but for those who didn't get it and for the sake of keeping with the rules and writing something in the description:
1. Sinclair copies Doorman’s ult.
2. Sinclair uses the copied ult on Bebop.
3. The actual Doorman ults Sinclair while Sinclair is ulting Bebop.

I have been learning other characters other than just my main (para) for a bit now and billy is one that I always adored conceptually, he's tricky to not feed on but when you go on a rampage like this, nothing beats it.

Game Feedback Why (as a bronze player) do I get matched against Eternus players in standard?

• Upvotes

I understand that standard isn't ranked but even in Dota it tries to put you against people within a few skill brackets but I just had a match with and eternus player that wiped the floor with us. I refuse to believe that we're at the most players we've ever had in this game and on a weekend that it's unable to find people at a similar skill level to my own. Some of these matches I've been getting have been ridiculous and I don't know why average players like myself are constantly put in lobbies with people way better than them. It's no fun being the worst on the team and that's just consistently what I'm experiencing.
