General The homeless man from the dining hall incident was a STUDENT and graduated last year

This man is notorious for creeping around aderhold, the student center, and now the Piedmont central dining hall. In 2019 he was arrested at the Atlanta campus library for being derogatory and harassing female students. Several years later and he’s still here doing the same thing, and obviously he needs serious help. Finding this information is saddening but also disturbing, and I wanted to bring more awareness to this because no one else seems to be talking about it.

General 10 minutes late for a 3 hour class and the professor told me to go away. lol...

It is stated in their syllabus and I agree that it can be disruptive, so I get it. But at the same time, almost all my professors are lenient about it to a degree, depending on how late the student is. I can't imagine telling a student not to come to a three-hour class over ten minutes. They've all heard the "I'm commuting from over an hour away" schtick many a time but that is true for me as well, and I can't predict when people driving into Atlanta are going to decide to crash their cars. It is what it is, I guess.

Edit: There are abundantly a lot of professors in this thread now posting on their throwaways, and I just wanna make it super duper clear: I understand there are different policies/leniencies for different professors. I know I am not entitled to any treatment from any professor. However, this is the first time I've ever had this happen, so it was very unexpected.

General Too many people walk too slow

I dont remember last fall being like this but holy shit some of you genuinely need to start to get moving, move fast because people have classes to go to. Blocking the way in the Langdale stairs by SITTING ON THEM and hugging right in the middle of the sidewalk creating traffic. These freshmen ESPECIALLY move so slow

General we all friendless?

not calling anyone out, but as of recent I have seen so very many people posting about trying to find friends. I find it rather sad but also is that just the fate of being a commuter school or is there something about here that makes it so much harder for people to find friends. maybe its just people being more vocal about it, because college is pretty much a new environment for everyone idk.

General Do you want kids someday? Or absolutely not? … Or genuinely no idea?

Hi!
I’m sharing a short survey that investigates how adult college students feel about having kids one day and why they feel that way, as well as how educated they are regarding fertility. If you don’t mind taking a moment to complete it, that would be much appreciated!

General Did anyone else’s email inbox get wiped after the update?

the consolidation seems to be complete and I can finally log back in to my account, but it’s only showing me the view I had from when I was registered as a GSU employee for a work study opportunity over the summer and was given a .gsu.edu account. So all I can see from that is info about my direct deposits and such. My actual school inbox is completely gone, and I still can’t log into my student.gsu.edu account, it keeps giving me an error message saying that it’s not registered to Georgia State’s system💀 This is on the Outlook app. it technically lets me log in on browser but it just takes me to the gsu.edu inbox still. What’s going on?? Did we literally just lose all of our emails because of that consolidation??

When those dumbass hand scanners at the dining hall dont work then the employees especially that annoying ass woman in the central dining hall is quick to act like you’re a fucking theif trynna sneak in. But they “accidentally” let a clearly very much grown ass homeless man in????? Also where the fuck was gsu pd? They were so serious during fifa, now that the tourists are gone they’re back to being lazy

The Period Project at GSU is collecting student feedback through a quick Restroom Needs Assessment Survey. We’re bringing this data directly to SGA and GSU Facilities to advocate for permanent, free-vend product dispensers in campus restrooms.

If you've ever been caught off guard or found campus restrooms out of supplies, please take 2 minutes to share your experience:

Every single response gives us the numbers we need to make this happen. Please share with your GSU friends and classmates!

Follow our instagram to stay updated and join the movement @periodproject.gsu

Thank you! ✨

WTF is up with this requirement in business courses? It always ends up falling on one or two people and then the others get minor deductions. So you’re not actually learning how to work in a group anyways lol

General Women’s Bathroom Patterns

Post image
198 Upvotes

Anyone else have a similar issue these past two weeks? At least once a day in a 6 hour class day, there is someone genuinely hanging out in one of the bathroom stalls. Like just standing in there, in a locked stall, not on the toilet.

Yesterday I was doing my duty and listened to someone make tick toks in the big stall.

Same kind of deal today. Seriously what are you guys doing it’s a bathroom.

Edit: no I did not draw this, I saw the meme and it inspired me to post about this

General I’m learning to just accept where I’m at this semester

Ok so last semester, shit got ridiculously hard for me both academically and mentally.😭😭 I literally wanted to drop out sooo badly, I was just over everything honestly.

For one, I was in denial about the fact that I don’t actually want to be a doctor and that I honestly never have, and secondly, it just bothered me soo much that I didn’t finish undergrad in ‘24 when I was supposed to, still being in undergrad at almost 25 just made me very insecure in myself, idk why it bothered me so much, but it just did. I just kept comparing my current self to a version of myself that I was “supposed to be”, and that version would’ve already had an undergrad degree plus a masters.

Thinking about both of those aspects constantly just started to make me feel miserable, and if I’m being honest, a part of me is still kinda in that place, however, I’m also just learning to accept my life for what it is in this current moment. Yes I would’ve preferred to have graduated with “my class” in ‘24, but you know what?? That didn’t happen and I literally cannot change that, all I can do is appreciate where I’m at now.

Also, I’m in the process of being evaluated for ADHD, because it’s something that my therapist has STRONGLY suggested that I do lol, and I feel like starting this process is kinda liberating for me, because I’ve suspected that I may have ADHD for awhile now.

Anyways I guess that’s it lol, just wanted to say that I’m learning to accept where I’m at 💕💕
