Hi, bit of a random post but would anyone have any firsthand recommendations for an alteration/sewing service in Sligo?

I need a dress altered and was wondering if anyone has used a business that was amazing with more difgicult alterations. I've tried the zip yard before (years ago!) so looking to see if they're still good or if there's a hidden sewing genius in the town. 😊

What to expect

• A chance to explore the brewery and its Sligo brewing history exhibition

Any good food hacks in Skigo now that I’m back being a student?

I’m talking about places that have big portions or cheap eats or whatever!?

Help a mature student out please and thanks!

I have some e-cigarettes that need to be soldered (I think). Anyone know of anyone in town that would do this?

Don't mind what genre we do. Would prefer to do originals but cover stuff is also OK. Don't really want to do poppy stuff

Looking for some nail tech recommendations in Sligo town. I have naturally long, strong nails so I'd just like Shellac but with designs/decorations. I currently get Shellac every 2-3 weeks in Westend Beauty but it's just basic single colour as they don't do designs. Any recommendations would be great thanks x

Any student accommodation available in Sligo town or close, will share with someone male or female I don’t mind, just until the 4th December!
Thank you

My daughter's long thick straight hair needs a good couple of inches taking off.

She likes to keep it as long as possible and avoids hair cuts, so ideally I want the experience to feel like a treat.

We've had a couple of bad experiences with recent cuts - one was different lengths at the front, one had an awful ragged line that I had to correct myself. I dont think the cut is complicated, and I'd even watch You Tube and tackle it myself ... but I'm sure there is a difference between it being done "ok" and being done professionally.

We're not looking for a kids cut, and expecting to pay for a proper cut and blow dry.
Can anyone recommend a salon + stylist who enjoys cutting long hair and can do it really well?

Thanks for any help!!

Bit random but thinking ahead to Halloween does anyone have any scary or creepy stories from in or around Sligo, ghosts, hauntings, faeries etc Love to hear it

Boots online reckon it's out of stock there, I've no time to do the rounds of the chemists

Does anyone know where has it in stock?

Just curious

Hi I am looking for somewhere to rent in the west of Ireland, I am a preacher of God and have been invited to speak at many events and church's up west of Ireland, I can pay the full rent in advance with a tenancy agreement of course, I am looking for a 2 bedroom preferably but a 1 bedroom would suffice, I do travel with my mother and two dogs so pets would have to be allowed, I can give references and more details if anybody could help or get back to me it would be much appreciated

Buying a couple of days of fuel from Russia, demanding the replacement of Ukraine president. The US are no longer our allies.

Remove yanks now!

So it’s looks like the bould Mixer from The Railway bar is taking over Walkers on OConnell street with the equally bould Mark McSharry as his partner in crime!!

Between them two and the Palmers as landlords, revenue are going to have their work cut out for them lol

No doubt out favourite local politician will be all over the young wans again, leopards and spots and all that lol!

Best of luck to them all lol

Hi everyone! I’m on the lookout for fresh, high-quality, farmer-sourced staples around County Sligo. Specifically, I am trying to source:

Organic cow's milk (preferably unpasteurised/raw or minimally processed straight from a pasture-fed farm)

Local raw honey (straight from the beekeeper/farm hives)

If you are a local producer or know the best spots to stock up, please drop your recommendations in chat.

My partner and I have to wait in Sligo for an hour and a half today (until 1pm) and I was thinking "it's fine we'll just get breakfast or lunch while we wait since we haven't eaten"
It seems like nothing at all is open...
There's only a couple super fancy restaurants, or no veggie options that aren't sad salads (we are both vegetarian)

There were two really nice options (shells seaside cafe and cottage cafe) and I was relieved after half an hour of searching on Google, but they're not in Sligo city, they're actually too far out for us to reach them on time 😭

I searched if there's at least market stalls today but apparently the market is only on Saturday.

Is Sligo a completely dead town on a Sunday or is the Internet not showing all the options? I'm quite surprised to be honest.

Pleaseeee does anyone have recommendations of anywhere that does good veggie options or a cafe that does baked warm goods at the very least? We'll be starving otherwise hahah

One dead, one in a serious condition and apparently others didn't need or want hospitalisation.

so i’m moving to sligo for college and im looking to rejoin a gym in the town, im about 8 mins away from TNT and that seems to be the cheapest at €35, ROM is €55 and 22 mins away from me. Which one is more worth it?

Just wondering if anyone went to the school above?

I was there in first class in 1998 and would love to hear from/ potentially meet up with people from my class.

'Tis a long shot but why not? Quite nostalgic as of late.
