Question steam achievement

Steam currently has a blue achievement icon for the base game and a purple one for game DLCs.

Do you think they should design another icon for players who have completed both the base game and all its DLCs, or would that be overkill?

Discussion God bless Steam for the achievement change

Just by removing a simple number, it has freed a lot of overly neurotic people like me. Games are meant to be fun. This is a small but significant change, and it shows that Valve properly has a grasp on what video games mean to people. Probably the only company in the industry that is forward-thinking, not making their choices based on profit, but the enjoyment of the consumer.

Question Need some help

So my kid has her own steam account and mine and hers are connected through the family link. The problem is my library is sitting at 131 games 90% of them are hers. How do I remove her games from my account without going one at a time.

How do I remove her from my family so her games vanish. šŸ˜‚. Cause it's too much. I just want to see the games I physically purchased

Thanks in advance

Question Steam keeps getting attacked

not sure if this is the right place to ask, but my friend's steam account keeps getting taken away again and again and again, he recovers it. it gets taken again, and this has become a common thing, recently he got infiltrated and from his account our steam family got dismissed and his whole account profile and details were changed, of course he recovered it again but I'd like to know if anyone here has any idea how and why this could be happening? any reasons?

Question Understanding Bundles

I'm looking to add a few games to my collection and discovered Max Payne was on sale and wanted to replay them and number 3, which I've never played.

There is the Max Payne Bundle at around $17 right now in the store. Each individual game according to Steam would be around $12.00 (buying all 3 separately).

I just switched from console to Steam. Why is the bundle more? Does it come with something I can't see on the page?

Max Payne 3 says the standalone game (no bundle) comes with all additional content. Max Payne 1 & 2 never had additional content. So is this just a strange bundle or am I missing something?

Edit: Fixed Prices

Question Is it worth it playing twd games yet?

As we know they are getting a very likely remaster so I’m wondering if it’s worth playing the originals as I do have them or just waiting until the remaster?

Discussion Physical Discs and Game ownership (PC)

With the ongoing controversy of not truly owning the games you purchase + playstation being in the hot seat recently with their announcement of getting rid of physical discs, there’s been a lot of clowning on consoles as a whole but this is all garbage that PC has victim to for years already.

I see so many PC players making comments about the topic trashing on sony and others as if any of them could remember the last time they purchased a physical game. Not to mention the whole concept of just purchasing a license has been a standard for steam for years yet all I see is people meat riding how pro consumer Valve is. I have over at least $2000 worth of games on my steam account that have been accumulating over the past decade that I haven’t touched in forever and there’s absolutely nothing I can do with them. Meanwhile I’d wager that 99% of games that have come out on console over the same past decade, consumers had the option to be able to purchase and resell them if that’s what they wanted to do.

This crap has been such a standard for pc users that most of them have forgot that we’re all the original suckers and will continue to be. Valve has great customer service for issues beyond game ownership but let’s not pretend they’re any better than these console companies when it comes to what you’re allowed to do with your game. It’s time to throw Valve into the list of companies to hold accountable rather than mindlessly meat ride them.

Question Why is that when I am searching in a Workshop for a game the search auto generates and kicks me out of typing after like a second?

Hi, new to this side of PC gaming but it is extremely frustrating. It doesn't seem to matter if I am using a controller or mouse or keyboard. Is there something I am missing? Is this a feature not a bug? As I am typing out a long search strong I am kicked out of the search field four or five times. I type in a character or two and then focus on the field is lost and results pop up and I have to select the search box again and type a couple more characaters. This makes me want to never engage with mods ever.

Question Need help finding a theme for my Steam profile.

OK, IDK if I'm crazy or what but I swear that there was an option for a profile theme that made everything look like it was the menus from Half-Life 1. Military green toolbars, big yellow loading bars, everything just like the old menus. I'm looking everywhere on the store but I just can't find it and I have no idea what it's called or what it could be associated with.

Does this actually exist or am I misremembering? I do know there's a Half-Life Alyx profile border that looks like what I'm talking about but what I'm looking for changes the whole layout.

EDIT: SOLVED! Read comments for explanation.

Question Is it possible to keep a fixed featured tile in Steam Big Picture’s ā€œRecent Gamesā€ carousel?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I’d like to customize the Recent Games carousel on the Steam Big Picture home screen.

My idea is to keep the large horizontal tile on the left fixed in the same position and at the same size. When I move right using a controller, the next game should appear in that featured tile, while the other games shift left to fill the row.

I’ve already tried making this change with CSS Loader and Millennium, but I don’t know how to program, so I couldn’t get it to work.

There’s another detail: Steam uses different images for horizontal and vertical game tiles. So this change would also need to replace the selected game’s vertical image with its corresponding horizontal image. It wouldn’t be enough to simply enlarge or move the vertical tile.

Is this possible? Is there an easy way to do it, or would it be so complicated that it might not be worth attempting?
