How did Blizzard do that? They even literally said in the announcement at Blizzcon, "Yes, this is Classic+".
I say this without malice, but the Retail crowd needs to fuck off. This is a game for people still playing Classic in some fashion. If those tourists come here and change the game to be more like retail, then Forever stops being Classic+ and starts being Retail 2.
There is already a game targeted at players that want a retail-like experience.

Retail is still being made, although they’ll probably give up on it relatively soon. All classic players have is forever, so of course they’re going to be concerned about maintaining the character of classic.
I mean look at how old school RuneScape has exploded in popularity beyond RuneScape 3, largely due to the poll system. They’re only going to succeed long term with forever if they follow the cue from classic fans.

Hd models are the standard as forever runs on a retail client. There were next to no complains that sd models exist but many that sd models does not (fair request), that some pixels in sd models are wrong or that hd models exist (still standard) and thats all classic complains

The world is bigger than classic andys and retail players.
Most of the people that are going to play wow forever are old people who quit. Either in classic, tbc, sod, many iterations of the game on the way.
The changes that they made are 95+% very positive. Balancing changes, new content, many quality of life changes.
Don't like it? Go back to that mess that is actually classic wow, go down ragnaros in greens at 55 with 30 warriors, 8 mages and 2 priests.

We don’t hate retail players we just hate their suggestions and feedback. People coming over from retail shouldn’t have equal say compared to players who have put thousands of hours into classic game modes. This wasn’t ever supposed to be a hybrid mode of retail and classic. Blizz marketing it as such is creating a lot of friction.

Big disagree. People that want to play WoW Forever have equal say in what they want for the game. We all pay the same sub, we all have equal footing.
Now I agree some takes are just straight up bad, but that is hardly unique to retail andy's. I feel like most complaints come from classic andy's which view WoW Forever through the leans of a sweat, rather than embracing it's casual nature. As someone that raided Mythic in retail and pushed 1% in m+ the simple nature of WoW Forever feels really comfortable and I laugh at people whining about the 1% damage difference in races.

It's so tiring to constantly try to argue with obvious disingenuous arguments that try to normalize certain ideas.

Forever is literally classic plus. Blizzard shut down turtle wow and created their own. The devs literally called it classic plus.
