Con Autograph Question Is this too much for 1 author?

Post image
36 Upvotes

Hey everyone, heading to my first con next weekend where Chris Claremont is going to be signing. Assuming he doesn't have a limit of how many sigs you can buy, would this be too much? I don't want to be the guy who holds up a line too long if that's frowned upon.

I was initially only going to bring the ones up top + GLMK, but JRJr is going to be there too and I thought I'd go for the double whammy. Also going to be there two days and figured maybe do half and half over the two days.

Thoughts? Thanks.

Con Autograph Question How much to typical autographs cost at cons? Is there a way to reach out to someone going to a con to have something signed?

I haven't had the luxury to go to many cons, if time permitted, I would love to travel and go to many more, but unfortunately that hasn't been the case. More specifically, I haven't been able to go to any cons with specific people I have been wanting to get signatures from. Is there a way to reach out to a service for specific cons to get something signed? If so, typically what would something like this cost? I have been trying to get some trading cards signed by LOTR actors and lot of the cons they frequent are in different countries. Unfortunately I don't have any friends in said countries who could go for me. Anyone have any ideas of how to go about this?

Con Autograph Question First time buying a celebrity’s autograph and selfie at a convention what should I know beforehand?

Really needing help here because I’m crashing out😭 I bought the autograph and selfie options for this celebrity, am I allowed to ask the celebrity to sign on a poster AND a small card or only one of them? Am I allowed to ask to film a small vid? Can I give the celebrity a tiny plushie gift(Approx. 6cm)?
How can I stay respectful and made sure they don’t feel annoyed or uncomfortable?

Someone help me please 😭

Con Autograph Question Is it ok to ask an actor to sign fan-made merch+is it ok to give an actor gifts (ex. Fanart)

Later this year, I might be able to go to comic-con and there’s going to be a panel of my favorite show ever. I’ve never been to a big convention before, nor gone to a panel, at gotten an autograph from an actor, but the actor who plays my favorite character is going to be there.

In the event that he is doing autograph, is it rude to ask him to sign fan-made merch? There’s not really any official merch of his character and the few pieces there are aren’t that good in my opinion.

Secondly, is it ok to give him a few gifts? I was thinking of making him a drawing of the character he plays and 2 kandi cuffs (one of the sho’s title screen and one of a cassette tape from an episode that focuses on his characte)

Edit: Thank you for the advice. Definitely going with the magazine. I got my wife a Sons of Anarchy replica vest that she’s going to get him to sign as well as Theo Rossi and Tommy Flanagan. Big Texas Comic Con this weekend.

I have two options to get autographed and am undecided. Magazine Hellboy or Comic Hellboy?

Con Autograph Question How to find a reputable consigner for autographs

Hello everyone! I may be looking to find a consigner for an upcoming convention (not yet though), but I have never used one before. I am on many Facebook groups for autos and cons, but I’m not sure how the process usually works and what to ask. Can someone help me understand the process like when does the buyer pay and how do I know who’s legit? Thank you!!

Con Autograph Question Etiquette for Actor signing

I’m a teenager going to my first con soon. The actor for my favorite character from my favorite show and book will be attending. I payed 150ish for the premium autograph they offer. I originally wanted to get my book signed but came into hands of a pop of the character and was wondering if it would be too much of me to ask if they could sign both or just suck it up and stick to the book?

Con Autograph Question Are autograph sessions better than photo ops?

So usually im buying art, meeting artists, getting collectibles but a couple years back I did a photo op with Stephen Amell and it felt like I was just being rushed through a line to get a picture.

This year Tyler Hoechlin is gonna be at MC3 and I would really love to get a few minutes to talk to him about his voice acting for Sephiroth in FF7 and get a copy of my game signed-but didnt know if celeb autographs are also rushing the line.

Any opinions on this. I mean ofc Id love a picture with superman but I feel like maybe ill get more than 60 seconds with the autograph

Con Autograph Question Meeting Kit Harington in October – where should I get Longclaw signed?

I’m meeting Kit Harington in October and I’m planning on ordering a Longclaw replica that comes with the sword and display plaque.

Where would you recommend getting Kit to sign it? I was thinking either the blade or the plaque, but I’d love to hear what people think looks best.

Also, has anyone had experience taking a replica sword into Comic Con specifically to get it signed? I know taking the sword by itself isn’t allowed but my plan was to just keep in inside the box.

The one I’m looking at has a metal blade, so I’m worried I might not be allowed to bring it in.

Would getting the signature on the blade be a bad idea because of the Comic Con rules, or is there some way to bring it in securely for the autograph? I obviously don’t want to buy it and then find out I can’t take it to the signing.

Any advice from people who have done something similar would be massively appreciated!

Con Autograph Question Confused about pricing

Post image
7 Upvotes

There is a comic con I want to go to and I want to get an autograph from a person. On the site it says that an autograph is 40 and a quote with signature is 20. I looked up what the difference was and was confused that it said that a quote with signature is most of the time more expensive. If any of you have any idea what is going on please tell me.

Con Autograph Question New to Cons, suggestions for pens for signatures

I attended a convention in the end of 2024 for the first time, went again 2025, and now I'm expanding to other types of conventions as I finally have friends that attend them.

I have bought a custom hardback journal, A4 size pages, 200 gsm thick with custom art on the cover. I bought this to store signatures and maybe stick some pictures into it.

Signatures are for long distance friends or community members I meet, as well as internet personalities or celebrities.

I want to buy a pen that'd do well for signature, I hear gold markers are good?

I tried looking around, even used ChatGPT to see what it would recommend, but I was left by the end genuinely unsure what pen would be good, particularly with like, what sort of thinkness should I be aiming for? Is a paint pen worth it and if so what warning should I give when people sign so as to not just have the paint flow out?

What are your recommendations, is Gold metallic good?

I'm also UK based, so I may not have ready access to more American products, and if you know UK or EU specific based brands, I am open.

I'm also fine for having more than one option, I just got a bit overwhelmed by the variety of choice.

Con Autograph Question Comic Con signing

Hi everyone! Do you know if it's okay for me to bring a printed poster to Comic Con for signing or do they prefer posters they print and bring themselves that are displayed on the table?

I'm checking to see if it's allowed because it's a hassle to bring the printed poster to the airport and there's a chance they might reject it during the event.

Thanks everyone!

Con Autograph Question Need help figuring out how to get a metal poster signed and preserved

I know its a bit of a stupid question, but hear me out because I am stupid.

I'm planning on heading to a con soon and I have this one-of-a-kind metal poster that I'd love for some voice actors to sign. But I'm worried that, because this is a metal poster and not a paper poster, the signature will get wiped off fairly easily.

A friend suggested getting some blank white stickers to put on and have them sign that so it doesn't get wiped away, but I wanted to hear other suggestions or ideas that people might have

Con Autograph Question What are the funniest items to get autographed?

I’m trying to think of funny bits to entertain the voice actors I’m getting autographs from eventually, such as getting them to provide signatures on my phone’s notepad app. But I also do want a physical signature or something, but I’m not sure what items I wanna use.

I thought a piece of paper with purposely horribly made drawings of the characters they voice would be funny, but I’m trying to consider more options.

If specificity helps, they’re the voice cast of The Amazing Digital Circus. Not that I’m looking for any gags that are too specific for the show, but just in case.

Con Autograph Question Looking for proxy help collectacon / GGCON

Hi I really wanted to have an Autogramm of 2 voice actors on 1 picture so I'm looking for someone who maybe goes to both cons and help me with this

🥺👉👈

I will send you a picture so you would still need to print it out at a shop (so it also has a good paper quality and maybe not foiled so signing is possible)

(For shipping: international or national shipping is fine)

Con Autograph Question When it comes to certain guests like Dan mora, Ryan north, or Kevin Eastman, do those guests charge for things like signings and stuff. I know that with certain guests like for tv or games, they charge like 50 dollars or 100 for autographs or pictures.

I have been to a couple cons and I noticed that for certain artists, it was amazing to see that they were there. Though I’m surprised at how much it cost to get pictures or autographs if you brought something they were in.

Con Autograph Question Kalis Janson Remarques?

Hey everyone, just joined the page!

For my big convention goers/collectors

Does anyone know if Klaus Janson offers remarques at conventions, or even work on blank sketch covers. If so, how much would either cost?

If anyone has nah examples, I’d love to see. I finally met Frank Miller down at Megacon Orlando and it was a dream come true. I’ll be meeting Klaus at a local con in August, and would love to get a Remarque or sketch cover done by him!

Thanks for the help (in advance)

Con Autograph Question First Convention, How Do I Best Protect & Display Manga Covers Signed by VAs?

Hey everyone! I’m going to my first convention soon and plan on getting some of my favorite voice actors to sign my manga covers. I really want to keep the signatures intact and protected, but also display them nicely on my shelves with the rest of my collection.

What’s the best way to:

  1. Display signed manga covers safely?
  2. Seal them in protective cases without damaging the books or signatures?
  3. Store them long‑term while still showing them off?

I’m thinking something like acrylic cases or sleeves, but not sure what size or type to get, or if there’s anything else I should consider (backing boards, UV protection, etc.).

Thanks in advance!
