We met on exmuslimr4r back in 2024. I was looking for an ex-muslim man because marrying a muslim man was a HUGE NO and other options were getting disowned lol. Found a great middle path where we both will act like partners in crime in front of our family šŸ˜™ I'm thankful we met in the ocean of religious fanatics in this country. Life will be smoother fosho.

I'm definitely exmuslim4exmuslim šŸ’Æ šŸ’Æ

Oh btw wearing a crop top for the first time šŸ˜ family doesn't need to know.

(Question/Discussion) I'm tired of Muslims' hypocrisy about Azerbaijan

Now I'm not saying I support the hijab ban. I don't. But where was this outrage when women in Afghanistan and Iran were forced to wear them, when Irani women were being killed for protesting compulsory hijab, when Afghanistan banned girls education, when female genital mutilation is happening in Somalia and Egypt, when domestic violence is not even punishable by law in many muslim countries? Not only will they not speak up about it, but they'll also call the oppression by Afghanistan "western propaganda". They're so hypocritical and they can't even see it.

(Advice/Help) I witnessed my mom seemingly get possessed during ruqyah as a child. Now that I’m agnostic, I don’t understand what I saw.

I grew up Muslim, and when I was younger, my mom once had Quran ruqyah done on her because she believed I was affected by a jinn (I kept having sleep paralysis and was extremely depressed).

The second the sheikh started reciting the Quran, my mom started crying and then completely lost control of herself. She was screaming, flailing her legs, repeating the same things over and over, and talking about random things. She was normally an extremely modest woman, but she was moving around so much that her underwear was showing (not to be weird or anything but she wasn’t acting like herself). The sheikh was using a taser on her, reciting Quran, and shoving some random green substance into her mouth (rose water, honey and herbs I believe cause he made me drink it too). Afterward, my mom didn’t remember what had happened.

I was a child and was absolutely terrified. I wasn’t allowed to tell anyone about it. I remember sitting in the corner praying that the jinn would possess me instead so my mom wouldn’t have to go through it anymore. I felt prickling on my body as this occurred too.

I barely thought about this experience for years, but now that I’m agnostic, I keep wondering what the hell I actually witnessed.

The part I can’t get over is that she started crying the moment the Quran recitation began.

Has anyone witnessed something similar during ruqyah? Are there psychological or neurological explanations for episodes like this?

(Rant) 🤬 God’s love and my hate

• Upvotes

Everyone don’t understand how much i do hate islam and Saudi Arabia for spreading it across Africa (whabinism) and other countries,
like how brainwashed are we into believing such a god who tells you to go murerder people just because of their beliefs like leaving the cult or, or being queer and the fact that god or allah HATES queer people makes no sense cuz how can a god HATE his creation instead of loving them unconditionally, like hear me out
There are mothers who love unconditionally there are humans who will love you even with your sexuality / gender identity do we have more love than god himself? like the fact god’s creation can love more than god himself is crazy to me and makes zero sense

dream man wallahi #wifedat

would sort of heal some of my religious trauma with islam like this is so intimate and loving

its so spiteful, loving and just completely contradicting what islam says

men are evil tho so 99% chance this won’t happen, they wouldn’t say this out of pure love, they’d say it with the intention of lust/ sexual desire, my dms will be full of these people in a moment 🫩

(Rant) 🤬 Is it normal that I feel raging jealousy when I see free women bc it could've been me?

Whenever I see online a white girl (European or white American) being able to wear what she wants, hang out with who she wants at any hour, come home late without getting beat for it, her parents know she dates or goes at her bf's place, I feel this immense raging jealousy...it could've been me, I could've been born in one of those countries in those families but no I just had to be in a muslim country and it makes me so mad because I envy that life, I won't ever have it and if I do manage to leave my country I'd have to go in no contact with my family and all that complicated stuff.

LGBTQ+ 27F4M Saudi lesbian looking for a Saudi gay man for a lavender marriage

I'm looking for a Saudi man who is serious about building a respectful and genuine partnership. Age and location aren't important, as long as we're compatible and willing to make it work. Preferably someone who is Qabali (tribal).

I value friendship, honesty, privacy, mutual respect, and personal freedom. I'd like us to get to know each other first and openly discuss our expectations before taking any serious steps.

If you're Saudi, gay, and genuinely looking for something similar, feel free to DM me.

(Rant) 🤬 as a hijabi, there’s something so uniquely dehumanizing…

this is probably specifically a western country thing and very dumb and small
so i have to wear the hijab and abaya outside because im back at my parents’ house, ew gross šŸ… šŸ…
and i was at a clothes store. now this may be because i didnt really bother to put in effort into my appearance today, unwashed face, hair slipping out, disheveled, whatever.
i bumped into this very fashionable hijabi in a shirt and jeans. i gave her a small smile and she gave me the weirdest look
whyyy does this happen to me every time? is it because of the abaya? because i look like crap and im breaking out lol? because she can smell the exmuslim fumes coming off of me?
why are hijabi girls … kinda mean and clique-ey? or is that just a universal girl thing, unrelated to being muslim?
but i feel like other girls can understand, that disdain and judgment is very specific.
can anyone relate? any similar experiences? any insight in the ā€˜why’ behind this? if youre a guy reading my dumb ramble, is this a thing with muslim guys too?

(oh and its uniquely dehumanizing because that look literally lives in my head rent free everytime it happens and i feel like a blob monster whenever i get it. though in this case, it might have been moreso the abaya than the hijab? i have no idea)

(Question/Discussion) Have you made it out your family?

I plan on leaving without telling them, in next year for a scolarship, leaving the country,

I just feel extremely upset about my mother, will she grow white hair earlier because of me? Wil she cry everyday? That her daughter turned out like this, I'm not her only child yeah, I don't know if this fact helps it, will she be very upset? Face criticizing from others? I keep getting upset about her,

(Question/Discussion) Guys I had a question about muslims?

Like we see that in so many countries hijab is compulsory for women and women are forced to cover their faces, marry early that too to the guy who is like almost twice the age of them, not given full freedom to do what they want but in a few muslim people who are liberal they don't do all these things and they have given full freedom to their daughters as well and they treat men and woman equally. So why do we see these 2 opposite extreme sides of islam that people are following? Like I don't understand. Like is it actually written in quran and other holy books of islam that women have to be treated this way or that way?? If someone could explain me it would have been amazing!.

(Miscellaneous) The life of Exmuslims living in islamic community

Living in an islamic country as an exmuslim is really terrifying and tiring especially if ALL of your family think the same way as the community,
The loneliness you'd experience if you don’t know any heretic people like you or if they literally don’t gaf about the religion and the rules.

The hate/oppression you’d experience is the terrifying part cuz imagine having your own thoughts and beliefs as an individual and basically get hated for it and the person next door is married to a child and they love him! isn’t that crazy? Despite the fact there’s a high chance you will get murdered for your beliefs

(Rant) 🤬 What makes an ex muslim and 'ex'-muslim

• Upvotes

I live in a western country. Around me I see born-muslims not following the religion and kinda avoiding the whole conversation about it. It feels like a Dutch thing but avoiding the whole convo always makes me think .. what makes a muslim a muslim? It is self-identification? Is it community identification? Is it a conclusion to be drawn from action and thus an objective measuring?

Naturally what books and texts say and what people practice are different but it feels so random. In my country we had a research done on the acceptance of lgbtq and it has heavily declined in the past years, imo partly due to people becoming more conservative (gen z). But is there a link in religion?

While writing this i realize that my question actually is: if you believe that you have the absolute truth about a temporary life and an eternal reward, why would you risk eternity by sinning? Or even risking doing something that a part of the religious scholars would consider a sin? I get the impression that very very few people actually wholly believe in Islam to be the absolute truth; in the same way that we feel that fire is hot. To me it seems like a lot of people just go with the flow and never actually thought about what they actually believe to be true.

Are those people also ex muslims? Is ex muslim something you become when you are a born muslim but you (unknowingly) dont fully believe the fairy tales? Is it again, self-identification? Can you be a de facto ex muslim?

We are a race of hypocrites
