Question Air Premia ticket has one missing character in my middle name — flying from SFO to Korea tomorrow.

• Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m really stressed and hoping someone who has dealt with Air Premia or a similar situation can share their experience.

I booked a flight from SFO to Korea through Booking.com, and I recently noticed that one character is missing from the middle of my middle name on the ticket. My first and last names are correct, and the discrepancy is only in my middle name.

I’ve been trying to get this corrected, but I’m stuck between Booking.com and Air Premia. Booking.com told me the correction is up to Air Premia, while Air Premia told me I need to go through Booking.com. Booking.com eventually escalated the request but said it could take 72 hours to process.

My flight is coming up very soon, and I don’t have a confirmed correction yet. I’m considering going to the Air Premia check-in counter at SFO before my flight to see if an airport agent can help.

I’m worried that I’ll be denied boarding and have to purchase an entirely new ticket at the last minute. I also don’t know whether canceling now would be any better, especially since I doubt I’d get a full refund.

A few questions:

Has anyone flown Air Premia internationally with a minor typo or missing character in their middle name?

Were you allowed to board if your first and last names matched your passport but your middle name wasn’t an exact match?

I’d really appreciate any firsthand experiences or advice. Thank you!

Question How nice/flexible is Thai airways?

I am still on a pending working holiday visa for Australia which is why I want to shorten my flight down to Bangkok.
I just want to get out there and have my luggage with me until I get the visa and take a flight to Australia later on.
My flight starts in Copenhagen in 2 days. Anyone can tell me if Thai air just changes the route easily without adding fees? Would be nice to know if anyone had a similar experience.

Question Hong Kong T1 - places to sleep

I’ve got an 8 hr layover in Hong Kong T1 in a few months, with two 11hr flights in economy either side 🙃 looking for recommendations on where best in the airport to try to get some rest. It looks like there used to be a transit hotel / resting lounge but seems to have maybe closed?
Worth shelling out for a lounge, or are there good public areas to rest?

There’s an orange or even a red alert due to the potential floods in Valencia. For those with experience, can this be a reason to flights getting canceled?

Help Needed Gothenburg to Porto help

I’m arriving to Gothenburg and will have a layover of 40 minutes. I’m a EU citizen so no passport control or security. What can i do beforehand to ensure catching the plane? Whom do i ask for help? Is it still possible to catch the plane if i’m a few minutes late after the gate closes?

Edit: i’m flying in from Kaunas. Yesterday’s flight to Copenhagen was canceled due to weather conditions so i automatically missed the flight from Copenhagen to Porto. Feeling extremely anxious about flying after such experience and short layover.

Question Connecting at IST with 2 separate tickets (DXB-IST on Turkish, IST-YYZ on Air Transat). Will bags through-check?

Hi everyone, I am looking for advice regarding a self-transfer at Istanbul Airport (IST) with two separate tickets. My first flight is Dubai (DXB) to Istanbul (IST) on Turkish Airlines, arriving at 13:40. My second flight is Istanbul (IST) to Toronto (YYZ) on Air Transat, departing at 16:25. The layover time is 2 hours 45 minutes.

Since these are separate bookings, will Turkish Airlines at DXB agree to through-check my bags to Air Transat? If they refuse, is 2 hours 45 minutes enough time to clear immigration, grab baggage, and check in again? Do I need a Turkish eVisa for this?

Thanks for your help!

Help Needed Connecting at IST with 2 separate tickets (DXB-IST on Turkish, IST-YYZ on Air Transat). Will bags through-check?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some advice/experiences regarding a self-transfer at Istanbul Airport (IST) with two separate tickets (2 separate PNRs). Here is my itinerary:

  • Leg 1: Dubai (DXB) → Istanbul (IST) | Turkish Airlines (09:25 - 13:40)
  • Layover: 2 hours 45 minutes at IST
  • Leg 2: Istanbul (IST) → Toronto (YYZ) | Air Transat (16:25 - 20:50)

Since these are two completely separate bookings, I have two main questions:

  1. Will Turkish Airlines at DXB agree to through-check my baggage all the way to Air Transat to Toronto? (I know both airlines operate out of IST, but I'm unsure about their interline baggage agreement for separate tickets).
  2. If they refuse to check it through, will a 2-hour 45-minute layover be enough time to clear immigration, grab my bags, check in again at the landside counter, and clear security? Do I absolutely need to secure a Turkish eVisa in advance for this?

If anyone has done a similar self-transfer at IST recently or knows Turkish Airlines' current policy on checking bags through to non-alliance/separate tickets, I would greatly appreciate your insights!

Thank you!

Help Needed Travel agency is refusing to refund my already cancelled ticket. Advise needed.

Post image

Let me start by saying I have learned my lesson. I will never book through a third party agency ever again. Only directly through the airline from now on.

That being said, I booked a flight through traveloka back in July. It’s a Malaysia Airlines flight.
Sometimes when there’s a schedule change, they let you change your ticket or allow you a refund, even on non-refundable tickets.
When I received a notification that there had been a schedule change, it allowed me the options to change or cancel. I opted to cancel the ticket. I did this through the Malaysia Airlines app (my ticket was already added there).

The cancellation was accepted by the airline and it stated I needed to call for assistance in receiving the refund. When I called, they said the ticket has been cancelled but the refund needs to go through traveloka. Makes sense.

I called traveloka. They said to start the refund process through the app. I did this, it got rejected. I called them again. They put through the refund request manually. Got rejected again. They told me ‘the airline rejected the refund request’. Even though I spoke to the airline and they said this isn’t the case.

I’ve called the airline directly and traveloka directly, at least 10 times at this point. Traveloka keeps repeating the same thing, and now says that if I can get the airline to give me written confirmation of the cancellation, they will reconsider. The airline has told me they won’t do this. They said that traveloka needs to contact them by email and then they will provide traveloka with the confirmation. But traveloka refuses to contact them.

I’m now stuck and so extremely frustrated. They’re refusing to refund me, but the cancellation was accepted, so I no longer have a ticket either.

Where do I go from here? I really need the money at this point and can’t afford to just drop it. Any help/advise is appreciated.

Help Needed Madrid to Bangkok

Has anyone taken Hainan Airlines from MAD-BKK with a stop in Chongquin? Would appreciate some feedback on overall flight comfort, food, connection time of 2:45 enough in Chongquin, etc. Do not know much about the airlines and have read good and bad. They are by far the cheapest option.

Any tips for seats/rows with some extra legroom?

Question Can Airline Cancel my Ticket?

Almost one month ago, I booked a one-way flight from the U.S. to Germany for February 2027 on Lufthansa. The charge hasn't appeared on my credit card. Basically, the airline hasn't charged me yet.

I have the electronic ticket. My concern is since they haven't charged me, they can revoke the ticket. I'm concerned because it was a good deal and I'm paranoid, they may "realize their mistake" and essentially not honor the ticket because I haven't been charged yet.

I paid $365 U.S. dollars. Today, they're $725 for the same flight. I found the ticket on a third-party site but then when it was time to purchase, that third-party site directed me Lufthansa to complete the transaction.

I'm concerned I'll show up and they'll say we're not honoring it, and I'm forced to buy a ticket on the spot.

Anyone else run into this? Any thoughts on how to handle.

Delays/Cancellations/Compensation Flight cancelled 19 days before trip

My flight from Stockholm(Arlanda) to Bangkok(BKK) has been cancelled 19 days before the departure date, due to operational reasons. The flight(N0 193)was scheduled for November 5th. The complication is that I have also already purchased tickets from Belgrade to Stockholm; the return flight from Bangkok has not been cancelled—only the leg from Stockholm to Bangkok. The flights between Serbia and Bangkok are not on a single, connected booking, and I purchased the tickets through Kiwi. What are my rights? I have sent an email and am awaiting a response. Are they obligated to provide me with an alternative flight (rerouting) or a refund? The situation is tricky because the trip is approaching; it would be a significant loss if I were to just get a refund and have to search for new flights—which would almost certainly be more expensive—especially since I already have a ticket from Belgrade to Stockholm.
Edit:Norse Atlantic Airways(company that cancelled flight)

Help Needed Int to domestic flight transfer in narita airport

hello all, we have a 10 day trip to japan from 5 dec to 14 dec, arriving and departing at narita airport. Was looking online as saw that some reccomended to just fly out direct the first day itself to osaka.

Will be arriving in narita airport on 5 dec at 6.10pm with air china and there is only one domestic flight leaving at 8.00pm to KIX with peach.

We are first time travellers + some of us hold passports from developing countries so we're worried we may get held up at immigration since they make make more detailed checks.

Wanted to ask if this is sufficient time to clear immigration + change terminals since one is int and the other is domestic. thanks for the help!

Question Online check in with connecting airline?

I'm flying back from Split, Croatia to Toronto, Canada tomorrow with a layover at Heathrow. The first leg of the trip is on Croatia Airlines and the second is Air Canada.

Online check in isn't available apparently for Croatian Airlines flights departing from Split. Could I check in with Air Canada for both legs of the flight since they were booked on the same ticket?

Or am I just going to have to check in in person at the airport? Will I get both boarding passes with in person check in?

Thanks in advance!

Question Is ZIPAIR shit?

I’m planning a Houston to Japan trip and I’m thinking of using zipair since they’re really cheap, thing is what I see online is kinda mixed about them.

A lot of people love them for giving a cheap way to fly but a lot of people are hating on them for not having food, entertainment, or for their carry on weight limit of 7kg. Honestly, all those complaints are kinda meaningless, I can go a long time without food and I can just download stuff before the flight. The 7kg limit is kinda worrying since for a long trip I would need a good amount of clothes but if need be I could just pay for more weight.

I just felt like asking incase there was some other issues with the airline but from what I’ve seen rn it looks like I’m getting what I pay for.

Question When will an Airlines give you a refund for a missed flight or not?

I'm sure you have to have a good reason but I don't know what they consider legit or not. For example, my family had handicap service and needed one person to be pushed on a wheelchair to get there. We waited like 30 minutes until someone was able to do it and we ended up missing the flight because of that. We complained to the airlines and the Department of Transportation. They gave us a refund for the extra cost for rebooking and gave us extra points back.

Complaint skycop are scammers !!!!

I’m posting to warn others about Skycop and to ask if anyone has successfully taken legal action against them after consumer protection authorities failed.

I used Skycop for a canceled AJet flight (VF26) back on June 20, 2024 . The airline acknowledged the claim for €2,000. However, for over two years, Skycop has refused to disburse the funds to me.

Every time I ask for an update, they give me the same lie about the case being stuck in "legal proceedings" or "awaiting funds," citing complex litigation and airline non-cooperation. They have been dragging this out endlessly without providing any proof of their actions.

I’ve already exhausted standard escalation paths:

  • Sent them a formal notice of default.
  • Submitted a GDPR data access request.
  • Filed a complaint with the European Consumer Centre (ECC).
  • Filed a formal complaint with the Lithuanian State Consumer Rights Protection Authority (VVTAT).

The biggest roadblock is VVTAT. They completely failed to help, confirming that the claim assignment agreement with Skycop is not classified as a "consumer agreement" in Lithuania. Because of that loophole, they washed their hands of the situation.

Has anyone else had Skycop withhold a settled claim like this? Since VVTAT is a dead end, is my only remaining option to file a lawsuit in Lithuanian court? I refuse to let them just keep this money, but I'm hitting a wall.

Any advice on the next legal steps would be hugely appreciated. Avoid this company at all costs.

Discussion Long haul LCC on a narrow body without food experiences?

I'm going to fly to SEA on a narrow body with just 1 stop in the middle east. For those in economy, how is it? I used to always fly in wide bodies, especially long haul. Is crew obligated to provide you water?
