Recently started dating an ex-theater chick… can confirm.

I don’t mean to be a total weirdo even though I am being one.
Two months ago you made a post about your fiancé and you moving to California because she got a once in a lifetime job opportunity. Then now you’re saying you recently started dating someone. Did you and your fiancé end things?
74
u/badluck_bryan77 5h ago edited 2h ago
We did.
Edit: for more context since people are replying that they are sorry:
You did see what
I
posted above right? I’m pretty happy at the moment lol.
We actually split on really good terms. By the end we were more like really good friends. Been together for 8 years, engaged for a little over 4, and the spark just wasn’t there for either of us anymore for a long time.
So we both saw this as a great opportunity to part ways without causing too much of a mess.
Honestly so far it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
She’s happy, I’m happy, what more could you ask for?

I played baseball and football, and we had some seriously horny bastards on my teams and some really interesting conversations during practices. I also had a lot of band and drama friends and they did things that would make a sex therapist blush. The band camp thing was a joke in American Pie but I also learned when I was a freshman that it was true.

I will say our band had more people and at least a couple oblivious and really confused practically asexual people.... (I was one of those. There was so much stuff going on behind my back)
1
u/iSuplexedMyOstrich 4h ago
I was the oblivious one. The only time Ive ever known Ive had someone hitting on me was when my highschool sweetheart punched me in the arm and yelled at me for not picking up on her flirting. I think she's why I like women who hit me a lil bit

u/not-that-kind 5h ago
They say that band kids start songs with “1,2,3,4” and dance kids start dancing with “and 5,6,7,8” otherwise you end up with musical theatre kids.
2
u/jarednards 4h ago
I used to do stand up comedy for a while.....the improv people have zero idea how to turn it off.
2
u/jermprobably 4h ago
Us art kids always wanted to be a part of those groups, but we were all very very introverted. At least our art group always talked about how much fun they looked like they were having hahaha we drew comics about if those three groups got together and made a sitcom, it ended up turning into a zombie thing in the end I think? Man, what a cool memory to go down haha

Yeah unfortunately most people who pull up to the drive through aren't interested in whimsy. They just demand us to make them food and deliver it to them quickly. I appreciate those of you who are patient and gracious! It means a lot. This extra effort not only puts a smile on the window person's face, but also makes the people you don't see happy when they tell us about it.

I’m not doing a value judgement because “cutie patoots” isn’t inherently sexual to me…
But I’m incredibly curious what you mean by “Not really…”
How does she not look 16?
I’m not saying she couldn’t be 18-young adult ages… but she absolutely looks like she’s very plausibly 16.
Have you seen any high school aged kids in a long while?

Or people will go along with silly shit sometimes because it’s fun. You “STAGED!!!” people are insufferable, go and do this out in the real world and I guarantee you some people will play along.
Unless they’re a redditor, then they’ll probably make a post on r/mildlyinfuriating about how some shitty influencer tried to engage with them without their consent and ask whether they should pursue legal action.

u/Embarrassed-Weird173 5h ago
Have you ever had the server waiting for you at expedite the moment you got there? I almost never have.
6
u/T0m_F00l3ry 5h ago
I dont know where youre at, but in most big chains, they have two windows now. The first one takes your money, they are always ready by the time you pull up. The second, where you get your food, basically ignores you. 😂
0
u/Embarrassed-Weird173 5h ago
Did you miss where I said expedite? I worked it 20 years ago as part of my duties; it's nothing new. I noticed that, unlike me, my coworkers and people at other companies didn't make it a point to greet the customer as soon as they pulled up.
4
u/T0m_F00l3ry 5h ago
Calm your tits dude. Expedite may be an industry term for that window. Or maybe its what they call it in your home country. But the average consumer only refers to it as the "first" window or the "pay" window. However, your question was essentially have you ever had the person waiting for you and my answer addressed that. Yes, the "first" window is usually ready for me.
1
u/Embarrassed-Weird173 5h ago
There's no need for me to be calm, as I'm already calm. You're the one acting like I'm clueless; I merely pointed out you were wrong to assume that since I had all the information out in the original post.
Calm yourself.
2
u/nightookami 4h ago
You are so not calm, the opposite of calm actually. You're uncalm
1
u/Embarrassed-Weird173 4h ago
I'm vibrating with intense rage to the point that my bed is rattling violently.
1
u/naturalinfidel 2h ago
And the most uncalm part of his body? The tits. After being explicitly told to calm them.
1
1
u/ryanvango 4h ago
wait what? I'm sure its happened, but I can't remember the last time there wasn't a person at the window when I pulled up.
Actually, yes I can. Burger King, March 2026, Pittsburgh. That location sucks ass. But every wendy's, mcdonald's, arby's, etc. fast food place besides BK has had people at the windows every single time, no matter where I have been in the US.
1
u/Embarrassed-Weird173 3h ago
With my experience, if it's busy, they're talking to the next person behind me and then they look up when they finish the order.
If it's not busy, they're chatting with their friends or browsing Tick Tock and then look up in a bit.
I rarely have situations where I could be blasting Vanessa Gonzalez and have someone immediately be looking at me and ready to respond with the line.

u/ryanvango 1h ago

So you never go to the movies? Or watch a tv show? Or see a play? Or play video games? All that shit is “staged”, it’s all meant to elicit a reaction, emotional response, feelings etc.
I don’t watch a Spider-Man movie thinking Spider-Man is real, or a sci-fi movie, or a Rom-Com, or play a video game etc.
But I can enjoy the illusion. I can have fun with it.
You need to touch grass.

You’re dealing with Redditors looking at a social media video of people interacting outside. They hate every single one of those things and always need to find ways to shit on them. Just mock them, they don’t deserve anything more

u/dorritosncheetos 2h ago
It's more the 20 people he had to bother to find the one that played along bud

u/sexytokeburgerz 2h ago
Bothered them with song and dance :( oh no
I worked service man. I never minded people having a little fun on camera and none of my coworkers did either. That being said, we were in a bar and those people were often VERY kind with their tips.

This is Reddit now, bots and basement dwellers sucking the life and joy out of everything, because everything is bad, or it’s just AI or it never happened because nothing happens in their basement and virtue signaling is their whole personality.

u/loptthetreacherous 4h ago
No one is being forced to take part in what he's doing. He's playing a song and doing the moves himself and giving people space to join if they want to.
-3
u/-neti-neti- 4h ago edited 1h ago
Lmao what a disingenuous take
Y’all can downvote me all you want but this is objectively an asinine and disingenuous take. No, filming someone for your own content while blasting music and dancing AT them is not just a regular chill neutral act. To suggest it is means you have zero human empathy and improper socialization. It’s a DIRECT INTERACTION, INITIATED by someone who wants content to someone who is a CAPTIVE AUDIENCE, WHILE AT THEIR PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT. Anyone who thinks this is a neutral act truly just doesn’t understand how to human.
1
u/Spare-Management3769 54m ago
💯. People that react are aware the person filming is going to post it. People just thirsty to “go viral.” Much less has to do with anyone living in the moment for fun. They want to be posted.
0
u/loptthetreacherous 4h ago
People on the internet really just peppers the word "disingenuous" over everything they can.

How about the 50 before her that he couldn't post because he didn't get the reaction he wanted?
What influencers post and how they get their content are two different things. If I go around asking every woman in public to publicly have sex with me and one does it, does that seem fine?
We have no idea what this dude does for his content, but the culture be represents is toxic.

It also makes me feel not old - I thought it was an old thing
I’m glad it’s just my ethnocentrism showing
5
u/IngenuityIll5001 5h ago
Well one of the things that was big in germany is Idioacracy for example. But that is mostly because it feeds the Stereotype of the "Dumb American" that many here like to belive. Sure there are some of them out there, but most Americans i know are quite smart.
2
