Meta I /DESPISE/ Roleplay flaired posts.
What a way to waste an afternoon, seriously. Without fail, every time I see something tagged with that fuckass blue flair, I know it's going to be some of the lowest effort, deplorably boring slop to "grace" this subreddit. It is RARE that you get any variety of such posts that manages to get past three sentences, much less ones that don't follow the script of "Insult target -> context -> insult target" for the middling amount of time they keep your eyes occupied with their predictable schlock. If you understand the media the roleplay is referencing, it's rare to not be able to predict the post in it's entirety.
Worse still are the ones where the Roleplayer isn't even supposed to be sapient in this context, for example, a dog. Just a few sentences of growling and visual noise to fill space instead of anything an onlooker can actually pick apart. One of the best things about this subreddit is you get to ask the person posting, "why?" Why do you hate the taco guy from Turbo with such burning passion? Why is your turn on the karma farm actually thought provoking vs yesterdays? How come you spent your evening writing a paragraph about how much you hate a topic instead of just scrolling past it? A roleplay post offers none of these; at most, an excuse for people to post relevant reaction gifs.
And don't get me started on how NUMEROUS the damn things are. Thirteen hours ago, we had 6 posted in the same 1-hour period. That's literally one every 10 minutes! For effectively the same post! Of course, that's not to say this is a constant occurrence, but c'mon people! Grow a spine and write something with some grit! They're a cop-out for interacting with this subreddit for someone who genuinely hasn't been blessed with the fires of malice in their heart and doesn't just want to spam ishowspeed gifs and JJK reactions in the comments.
It's bad when I'd consider the typical back and forth shitslinging of any socio-political issue worming it's way into the subreddit to offer better value for your time than these 1-minute posts, as at least those make you *feel* something. Hell, they might even inspire you to make your own post decrying their presence on the subreddit, at least that's SOMETHING. ANYTHING is better than these posts, seriously.
