Good luck, and may your framerates be high, and your temperatures low!

------------------------

About the case and MSI's MEG series:

If you're not familiar with MSI’s MEG (which stands for MSI Enthusiast Gaming) lineup, it’s essentially their flagship series, aimed at enthusiast builds and overall enjoyers of higher end options.

For the MEG MAESTRO 900R being given away here, here’s what MSI is highlighting: a centered internal layout, three-sided panoramic glass, and a detachable motherboard tray that can rotate into four different orientations. That gives builders quite a few options for how they want to assemble and display their system.

MEG setup

There are also some more premium finishing touches, including aluminum panels and diamond-cut detailing.

The four-way motherboard layout is probably the most interesting part from a builder’s perspective!

If you want to see MSI’s full breakdown of the MEG series, you can check it out here: "Excellence, Refined".

------------------------

The winner will be contacted by Reddit direct message (please make sure your DMs are open) in the 7 days after the event ends, and announced on this thread as well.

One entry per Reddit account; only your first eligible comment will count.

The prize winners will be selected randomly from all eligible entries on Nov. 7, 2026.

Participants must be 18+ and reside in eligible territories.

Winners must respond within 7 days, or a new winner may be selected.

Full terms and conditions please check here.

I turned it off, came back to it after 5 minutes, and then everything worked fine. Does anyone know what that might've been? Could've just been a blind act of patriotism, but I just wanted to run it through this subreddit to double check.

Discussion 7 month update after switching to pc (Ps5 vs path tracing)

I was so hesitant at first but I made the switch from ps5 to a 9800x3d and 5080. At first I felt overwhelmed with how much pc has to offer. I already built PCs before but never owned one myself. 7 months later and I’ll never go back to console. The freedom pc gives you is unbeatable. The biggest shock factor for me was path tracing and it still is. It’s absolutely gorgeous. Glad to say I’m here to stay on pc. I don’t use it for anything other than gaming but it’s nice to have if I ever need it for work

I TOOK BOOTH SCREENSHOTS BTW

After nearly 10 strong years, today I lay my baby back to her case.... My GTX 1070 Ti took on new games with open arms, and though i may have needed to lower settings, she always kept me playing. Today marks a sad but joyous day as we lay her to rest and acknowledge the sheer greatness of her journey. Thank you for the near decade of continuous grinding. May you rest in peace

Hardware Thanks to the community, I built my first PC at age 39

Post image

Thanks to you all, I learned a lot about the do's and Dont's when it comes to building a PC. I posted a while ago how I became extremely frustrated as a long time playstation owner and now I feel much better about my future experiences with gaming.

I've been using my PC for about 2 months, no issues.

Here is the build:

9070 xt hellhound gpu
12700 i7 cpu
64 gb ddr5 ram sk hynix
Artic 360mm liquid cooler
Montech case
Msi 850 watt psu
Msi mobo

Edit: the ram and cpu I was able to get for free from work sources

I might upgrade the cpu to the newer Intel chips for this lga1700 socket when it releases early next year, so I sorta lucked out there. I use this right now for 1440p gaming.

Thanks again

Build/Battlestation ASUS ROG Astral 5090 | RMA Positive Experience

Thumbnail

Long story short:
I recently purchased an open-box excellent condition Astral 5090 OC from Best Buy. Upon receiving, I took all precautions necessary to verify the GPU, and its hardware which thankfully everything checks out.

I took it to a computer store where they ran furmark stress tests and noticed the 2 outter side fans do not turn on. All variables were taken into account from checking both bios (performance and quiet) modes, to checking all settings on ASUS GPU Tweak III.
From testing on a test bench to testing at home on a Minisforum Deg2, 1000w connected to a Z13 Flow 2025 and still the same result, aside from the performance decrease due to thunderbolt connectivity.

Under load during Furmark via test bench, the temps reached between 70c-75c and the two outter fans never turned on. Post score on 1080p was 30003 (499 fps).

———————-

Resolution:
ASUS technicians confirmed that my two side fans were defective and those fans were replaced.
My 5090 Astral now functions properly, and passed both Furmark and 3Dmark stress tests that ASUS performed on it. ASUS has provided me my shipping tracking information and my GPU will be returned to me soon.

In conclusion, thank you ASUS for repairing my 5090 Astral. The experience I had was exceptional and I can’t be anymore thankful. Despite the stories i read online that made me concerned, I am happy to share the positive ASUS RMA outcome.

Timeline:
Friday, October 2: Received my 5090 Astral open box excellent condition from Best Buy

Friday, October 2: Unboxed shipment at Best Buy to verify that the GPU was in the box and in tact

Saturday, October 3: Took the 5090 Astral to be professionally inspected and tested to verify its functionality, VRAM & ROPS. It was then discovered that the fans were inoperable and everything was documented.

Sunday, October 4: Went to Best Buy to inquire about RMA as Asus requires customers who bought from Best Buy go through the retailer for initiating the RMA. The manager and rep had no idea of that policy but confirmed it through ASUS’s website when they entered my serial number. As this was Sunday, nothing could be initiated under the next business day.

Monday, October 5: I contacted ASUS directly instead of going back to Best Buy to see if they’ll help me despite what their automated RMA system directs me to do with the retailer. On my first attempt, I got through to an ASUS representative fairly quickly. The rep happily stated he would initiate my RMA and began documenting all the details I provided. After 15-20 minutes, I had my RMA reference number and instructions to wait for the next steps of returning.

Friday, October 9: I securely packaged my GPU following ASUS’s guidelines. It was advised not to send any original boxes as they would not be returned back to me. I wrapped the GPU in an anti static bag, with a lot of bubble wrap around it. Placed it in a box I layered with more bubble wrap. Secured it with tamper seal tape all around it. Then placed it into another larger box with more bubble wrap and tamper seal tape. The package was then dropped off at Fedex.

Tuesday, October 13: ASUS confirmed via email of receiving my GPU and it was currently undergoing diagnostic testing.

Thursday, October 15: ASUS informed via email that my package is ready and awaiting courier pick up. As my RMA tracking has not been accessible likely due to the Best Buy automated flagging of purchase. So I called and the rep confirmed it was repaired due to the defective fans and is now being returned to me soon.

Saturday, October 17: My 5090 Astral was delivered to my house. ASUS boxed it perfectly and securely with a foam fitting insert around the GPU along with it being wrapped in a static bag. The package was double boxed with extra bubble wrap. My GPU is in the same like-new condition as it was when I sent it to ASUS. I tested the GPU and all fans work properly.

News/Article The "coop-anything" repo, a 'reverse engineer anything' like repo that lets you make ANY existing game co-op. I have already succeeded in deus ex, zelda: ocarina of time, stalker games, dungeon keeper, and fallout NV is WIP but close.

https://github.com/cranebeaker/coop-anything

I have been busy adding FULLY functional co op to the CLASSICS of our childhood. I've made a co-op-anything repo, in the style of the REA one that is for making ANY game co-op.

So far I have completed: Deus Ex (fully support online co-op), Dungeon Keeper, Stalker SOC. Currently wip is: Ocarina of Time (very close to 100% synced) and Fallout NV (is WIP - goodsprings quests are fully tested and working so far and the rest is done but needs QA tested)

There are two paths essentially:

  1. Finish what exists. It first researches and will help map out any half-done mods, then dig up their bug reports by scraping discord and forums etc, fixes them, and has automated tests for it with bots and scripts running real game clients to automate much of the QA testing.
  2. Build it from zero. Most games run on a handful of engines (Unreal, Unity, Source, id Tech, Bethesda's Creation Engine) that modders have already mapped out. It can re use information known about that engine, and reverse engineer the rest using tools like REA and Ghidra, then it builds co-op the way mods like Skyrim Together and sm64coopdx did.
