Living in Sydney for 8 years and can't believe I've discovered this place just now. It's gorgeous here!!
Chinese garden of frienship. $12 entrance but well worth it. Blows my mind that this is tucked somewhere in the middle of the city.

Bogong moth departure
Super serious but stupid question, does anyone who knows anything about these moths know when they are expected to fully leave Sydney. I know all the comments are going to say they’re harmless and important etc, I know! I just have the worst irrational phobia of moths and I genuinely freak out and shut down when I see them. I’ve always been like this and I thought this would help my fear but if anything it’s exhilarated it way more and I feel like I’m living everyday suffering. Again I feel so silly for feeling like this but any timeline would help.

Question about annual leave
So wife is a nurse, we are planning to go on a holiday next year for 4-6 weeks.
Her manager forced her to use annual leave this month without consulting her by not giving her any shifts. When approached about this, her explanation was that she has excessive leave accumulated (accumulated 4 weeks total). When asked if majority can be used up in the vacation next year, she said no, it has to be done now.
Does employers usually have this type of authority to make you dump AL on a whim?

Kid friendly meeting place between Wollongong and south west Sydney
I'm meeting up with old friends that live in Wollongong and we're going to meet in the middle somewhere. Trouble is, between us there will be four kids aged between 5 & 11, so we need somewhere that has a good playground. My friend has suggested Engadine Skate Park, but I don't have a bike rack for the car and my kids don't have scooters anymore. Do you have any ideas r/Sydney?
Edit - I'm near Menai

Image 7/11 Kirrawee seen from above...
Surely this can't be safe?
This is a 7/11 fuel station on the Princess Highway. It looks like all the wiring is exposed to the elements, direct above thousands of litres of fuel.
Or is this perfectly normal & I just don't generally see petrol stations from above?

Fare free shuttle bus between WSI and St Mary’s
So according to the TfNSW page there will be a fare free bus between WSI and St Mary’s, starting from Sunday 25th October. The service will run while the Metro is under construction.
While this is certainly appreciated, a number of issues come to mind:
- This is ONE bus every 30 minutes. This can’t possibly cope with multiple plane loads of passengers, right?
- Depending on the day, there will be a gap of up to 3 hours from midnight (or 1am) with no service. How is a 24/7 airport supposed to function when there is no PT available during a 3+ hour window?
(Also: Aren’t these the pink buses from the Bankstown shuttle? Lol!)
