sport Rugby World Cup 2027 ticket prices a bit steep?
Australia is hosting the Rugby World Cup for the first time since 2003, and the tickets are on sale now.
Anyone going? I applied for tickets to the popular games (Wallabies, All Blacks, semi-finals and the final), during the application window, but missed out on all of them.
I thought I might still attend a few of the matches where tickets are still available, but I found prices are quite steep.
If you want to see the Wallabies score a try every 5 minutes vs Hong Kong in the group stage game at Perth stadium, it's $635 for a seat in the corner, and England vs Wales is $635 for level 6 tickets at Homebush Olympic Stadium.
Of course both these teams are popular teams to watch. If you want to see Italy vs Romania and don't mind sitting behind the posts, it's $50 (or $95 for a seat in the sidelines near the corner).
Forgive me for having a whinge about prices, and there are clearly people willing to pay these prices as most tickets appear to have sold. The days of affordable tickets to big sporting events seem to be over, which is sad because families should be able to enjoy these events without paying $600+ per ticket especially in the group stages.

politics WA Greens kept crisis communications document about Jordon Steele-John
The WA Greens maintained a crisis communications document for years in the event that complaints against Jordon Steele-John were made public.
Senator Steele-John has rejected concerns raised against him in a letter by Greens members to leader David Shoebridge. The letter did not contain any specific allegations.
Senator Shoebridge says an independent investigation will be conducted.

no politics Do we want Amazon delivery drones over our backyards?
I spotted a campaign from an Aussie YouTuber I follow (Brent Pearson, his channel is about adventure bike riding & videography). His campaign is about Amazon pushing to start commercial drone deliveries in Australia.
Thought it was worth bringing up here, hopefully without breaking any sub rules.
My main concern? Losing quiet skies over my back garden.
He's actually a drone pilot and uses Amazon himself, but he is not ok with what is already happening in the US and highlighted worrisome facts:
- Noise: Apparently, during drop-offs, the drones hit around 82 dB (like a freight train passing right near your fence).
- Frequency: In places in the US where this is live, neighbours see a drone buzz past every 3 to 5 minutes all day long.
The main reason he's pushing this now is that once this gets approved, nearby residents basically get zero say on flight paths over their homes.
If you care about this, check his page to read what he put together and see if you want to sign: search "No Delivery Drones Brent Pearson" or "nodeliverydrones".

I never visit Port Macquarie without getting this. It’s an awesome pizza base as well as a great chip/biscuit dip.
My daughter and SIL got us some on their last visit because they know we love it. They do too. I thought I’d recommend it to the masses, it really is good. I’m sure they sell online but the farm and tour are worth the short drive from Port.

no politics If a letter gets lost in the mail with valuable stuff in it, should the sender comp?
First off, it’s not drugs, it’s magic the gathering cards and we’d not discussed tracked or untracked mail but I paid postage.
I’m stuck summing and ahhing over whether or not none falls on the sender.
Maybe I just want to see it heard but what do you think, if he’s gone for cheap postage and it’s lost am I right to feel he’s not upheld his side?
Also he can’t document the postage because he bulk bought the envelopes.
Edit: got a refund, thank you lovely people. Enjoy your weekends!
