The lettuce wins!

u/Dodecahedonism_ 1d ago

One Zachariah being exactly one half of a Scaramucci speaks to an elegance of universal constants. It's like an octave of incompetence.

Holy fuck that made my day.

35

u/5PQR 1d ago

I expect it's based on this...

On 14 October 2022, British tabloid newspaper the Daily Star began a livestream of an iceberg lettuce next to a framed photograph of Liz Truss, who had been appointed prime minister of the United Kingdom the previous month. This act followed an opinion piece in The Economist that compared the expected brevity of Truss's premiership to the shelf life of a head of lettuce, with the October 2022 United Kingdom government crisis occurring weeks into her tenure and leading many political commentators to opine that Truss's resignation was imminent.

Scaramucci no longer holds the record for shortest service to the trump whitehouse....11 days has been broken and Zacharia now owns it at 5 days. And only one 14 minute press briefing did her in. It was a unblievable thing to watch too. She was so far out of her element, even reading the side notes telling her how to say the next statement with "enegry and excitement". Freakin' unreal and entertaining. Makes me miss Sean Spicer.

I’m really upset about this. I watched her first press conference and all I could think was “oh man, the next few months are gonna be hilarious! I can’t wait for the memes!”

I feel like I’ve been robbed.

66

u/Kamakahah 1d ago

It's very disappointing. If I have to watch the world burn, I at least want to laugh.

33

u/zardoz73 1d ago

Seriously. This firing is a tragedy. This woman would've been a font of cringy schadenfreude on a daily basis. She would've warmed the cockles of the American populace with her complete malfeasance! But nooo, they had to wise up and cover their ass. Thanks, Obama!

They've always had a line in the sand.

She made Trump look bad. And Trump has the emotional maturity of a toddler who missed nap time and an ego more fragile than a glass sculpture, so anyone that makes Trump look bad is definitely getting the boot.

43

u/Sunnyday1775 1d ago

If everyone made Trump look bad maybe he would say enough naughty things that congress would get off their ass and actually impeach him this time

29

u/samanime 1d ago

Of course they wouldn't... because that'd make Trump look bad, and that's the only rule. =S

Well, DEI does get in the way of Nepo-Hires and Croneyism. So I can see why MAGA would hate it.

47

u/No-Algae-7437 1d ago

Except DEI is intended to give qualified candidates a shot with the goal of having a QUALIFIED, yet diverse, inclusive, & equitable staff.

28

u/Crafty-Help-4633 1d ago

Yeah, that's why MAGA hates it. Nepo-Hires and Croneys pretty much precludes being actually qualified, whereas the DEI hires would be.

lol no that was all anyone needed to see. Trump finding out on live tv that her law degree was from China of all places was absolute comedy haha

46

u/fang_xianfu 1d ago

Her law degree wasn't from China, it is from Pepperdine. The issue isn't whether she has a law degree, she does, it's whether she passed the bar exam, which she hasn't. She definitely didn't do that in China because you can only take the Chinese equivalent of the bar if you're a Chinese national.

24

u/iaintkd 1d ago

Having seen her speak and also seen her taken apart on TV debates I have a hard time believing she passed a law degree never mind sat the bar

22

u/Bad_Repute 1d ago

Pepperdine is a legit law school for people that take it seriously but there's a running joke about law schools and once you're accepted, the school has every incentive to make sure you graduate and it's incredibly hard to fail as long as you show up. But getting pushed through to keep graduation stats up doesn't mean you'll be prepared or able to pass the bar if you didn't actually take the program seriously.

I’ve always been a little envious of countries that embrace the term “fortnight” instead of saying “two weeks.” Just has an air of sophistication. Can we make “zacharia” and “scarmucci” a thing in the US, to mean “five days” and “eleven days,” respectively?

As a software engineer, I see them as a potential substitute for story points. “How long will it take you to build this new feature?” “Normally a few scaramuccis, but with Claude, probably a fortzacharia. Maybe less.”

I think this is a good system of measurement we’re getting. Maybe that’ll be his legacy. Replacing Imperial with something dumber.

She struggled to read some pretty basic sentences. I guess the hiring process must've involved some other skillset she has.

Same administration who hired RFK and Patel. Same admin who gave jobs to Kushner and Trumps children. They’re all fucking incompetent.
